'Fidelius Charm' adalah mantra yang berfungsi untuk menyimpan rahasia seseorang.
Charm adalah mantra atau bentuk suatu perapalan dari sebuah rentetan kata yang telah dimodifikasi untuk menambah, mengurangi, atau mengubah sebagian dari objek. Contohnya accio, confundus, impervius.
Fidelius charm ini merupakan salah satu mantra paling kuno, kompleks dan juga memiliki efek yg luar biasa, yaitu menyembunyikan objek yang dapat merupakan mahkluk hidup sampai objek mati sekalipun. Objek yang sudah dimantrai dengan Fidelius Charm tidak akan tampak hingga rahasianya terbuka sendiri. Dalam melakukan mantra ini dibutuhkan setidaknya 3 pihak. Yaitu secret keeper, perapal, dan objek yang mau disembunyikan itu sendiri.
Misalkan yang mau disembunyikan adalah lokasi A. Maka A akan memilih orang kepercayaan yang dipilihnya untuk menjadi secret keeper Kemudian, secret keeper akan dibertahukan oleh A sendiri mengenai lokasi A. Bahkan seseorang yang mempunyai ilmu sihir tinggi pun tidak dapat mendeteksi keberadaan A.
Contoh:
james potter dan lily potter menyembunyikan lokasi tempat tinggal mereka dg Peter pettigrew sbg secret keepernya. namun sayang sekali karena Peter Pettigrew yang ternyata membocorkan rahasia tersebut kepada Voldemort, sehingga kediaman james dan lily justru terkuak.
