PD APPLICATION WELCOME GUIDE MADE BY THE ALPHAS

Hello, Officer welcome to the met police thank you for your interest in the police this information is to help you on your way to be the best police officers you can be.

THE CHAIN OF COMMAND

It is very important to follow the chain of command [eg] A Officer is rude to you and your the rank sgt so their for you would take it to a inspector the rank above you, the reason is because higher ranks have a lot to deal with so small complaints will be on the bottom of their list [Higher ranks are informed of these complaints to be made aware of situations]

If it is a severe problem it will be brought to the alphas imminently and will be dealt with immediate effect.

The chain command is their for a reason please make sure you use it how it is meant to be used.

This is a set rule if you do not follow the chain of command properly it will be a verbal warning.

STRIKES AND HOW THEY WORK.

You can receive a strike from Alpha 1 [A-1] Or Alpha 2 [A-2] these are the only people who can issue strikes. strikes are not to taken lightly and are serious acts of discipline.

WHAT CAN YOU BE STRIKED FOR

Disrespecting a higher up, not following orders, not doing your job properly [EG] [MESSING ABOUT], not giving your badge number, miss use of fire arm, miss use of tazer, miss use of force, unlawful arrests. These are just examples of what you can be strike for.

HOW THE STRIKES WORK

Before any strike you will be given a verbal warning depending on the situation at hand.

1st Strike, Is more of a warning after this you will be kept under watchful eye of all higher ups.
2nd Strike, You will be demoted from your position after receiving this and will drop to PCSO no matter you rank.
3rd Strike, You will be terminated a pd officer and ca not re apply for 6 weeks.

Armed Response Unit [ARU]
Dog Section Unit [DSU]
Road Traffic Unit [RTU]
Training Officer [TO]
National Police Air Unit [NPAS]

You can join any of these units by talking to the Unit Leader you do need to be a constable before joining any unit at all bare in mind, Alphas do not have any say over units it is all ran by the unit leaders themselves. If you do have any issues with the unit leaders then you are more than welcome to being it to the ALPHAS.

WHAT THE UNITS DO

[ARU] They will take lead on shop robbery's and any weapon related crimes and will be in charge of the scene what they say is final, armed officer's are the most trained and high ranking officers around they will always be asking you to do something for your own safety so don't hesitate and do as they say.

[DSU] They will take lead on any drug cases looking for evidence [eg] Searching cars or getting their dog to sniff search suspects.

[RTU] They will take lead on any vehicle chases they will lead comms and pit times and speeds these are the best drivers in the force and in chases what they say goes.

[NPAS] They will be the eyes in the sky on pursuits and all scenes telling us info to help us that we can not see [eg] a suspect goes into a building or a garden and hides in a bush npas will be able to use the thermal camera to see them and direct us.

[TO] They take lead on training PCSOS these officers have more knowledge than most others hence why we trust them to train new commers their main goal is to make sure the PCSO is safe at all times so if they say go sit in the car you do that.

SECTIONS [THE MAIN ONES]

Section 1, the right to stop and search anyone with reasonable suspicion. [EG] you get a call to a drug scene and you see someone waking away from the area.

Section 32, Searching someone once they have been arrested.

Section 54, Searching someone at Police Station.

RIGHTS OF SILENTS

You do not have to say anything, But it may harm your defense if you do not mention when questioned something which you later rely on in court anything you do say may be given in evidence.

You have to make sure everyone you arrested is read their rights we can be sued if we do not do this, They also have the right to one free phone call and a lawyer we cannot deny this!!
