Living Aboard Argonaut II: A Classic Wooden Yacht
Here's How It All Started
Living aboard the Argonaut II is a component living in a museum, half living in an RV, half "residing the dream," and half only a very ordinary life.

Since we live aboard a basic wood yacht, build ninety two years ago, with lots of the authentic methods intact, we do in effect live in a museum. Some of the unique artifacts of Argonaut II are also on display on the Maritime Museum in Victoria, British Columbia.

Here’s the story of how my husband Jerry and I came to Seattle and ended up buying the traditional wood yacht Argonaut II .

So, right here goes…


In May of 2006, we bought our off-the-grid house in the Jemez Mountains of New Mexico to the perfect, perhaps the only, couple for the place. Not many people want to keep their own electrical system, street, and all of the tools needed for dwelling remote. They purchased our house, furnishings, bulldozer, tractor, unimog, and so forth., after our home had been up for sale for less than a day. Things just worked out perfectly. Basically, Jerry and I left New Mexico with our garments, dishes, sheets and towels, and Jerry’s tools.
boat and yacht transport got here to Seattle and checked out two boats, the Sally S . and Argonaut II. Argonaut II , a 1922, seventy three foot basic wood yacht, was our alternative. After a sea trial, haul-out, and survey, we bought her and moved aboard the second week in May. Along with the boat got here the dock house at a marina in Ballard, a very fun, interesting a part of Seattle. We are on the porch, which is a dock on the outside of a boathouse, located proper inside the Ballard Locks within the delivery canal resulting in Lake Union and Lake Washington. In boat and yacht transport , we had been also inducted into the Pacific Northwest Classic Yachting Association, an excellent group of parents who love outdated picket boats..
