While Xiao generally does not want to be part of people in their daily activities, he has a soft side that is manifested as gentle interest in phenomena that occur in the world of human beings. He enjoys eating food that is human. His favorites include Almond Tofu Grilled Tigerfish as well as Grilled Beef. These remind him of his dreams. He is extremely resistant to corruption and refuses to let the lure of human practices pull the attention of others. This has made him an ideal friend to Morax.
We wanted to express the most secretive, hidden aspect of Xiao when we created his character. We chose a palette of colors which includes green and white to represent his adept status. We also made an animation where he extends his hand to meet the light source which appears to be alive. This represents a moment of gentleness in Xiao's character and the tension between his brutal and soft sides.
