When Danni Sanders (Zoey Deutch) fakes a visit to Paris within the hopes of garnering extra Instagram clout, she doesn’t understand how a lot it could spiral out of control. In Not Okay, writer-director Quinn Shephard takes us inside the attention-hungry, narcissistic hellscape of social media fame. Zoey Deutch is the actual deal as this narcissistic, manipulative figure, using her charisma and comedian chops to reveal the vulnerability beneath all of her bluster.
