Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III served as the 15th President of the Philippines from 2010 to 2016. During his presidency, several laws and policies related to education were implemented to address various issues in the country's educational system. Some key legislative initiatives and education-related programs during the Aquino administration include:

Republic Act No. 10533 (Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013):

Commonly known as the K to 12 Law, this legislation extended the basic education cycle in the Philippines from ten to thirteen years, adding two additional years to the curriculum. The K to 12 program aimed to enhance the quality of education and align the Philippines with international standards.
Kindergarten Education Act (Republic Act No. 10157):

This law, enacted in 2011, made kindergarten mandatory for all five-year-old children before entering Grade 1. The goal was to provide a strong foundation for learning at an early age.
Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (Republic Act No. 10931):

Signed into law in 2017 during the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte, this landmark legislation aimed to provide free tuition in state universities and colleges (SUCs) and local universities and colleges (LUCs) to enhance accessibility to higher education.
Republic Act No. 10687 (Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education or UniFAST Act):

This law, signed in 2015, established a unified and streamlined system for providing financial assistance to Filipino students pursuing tertiary education.
Philippine Qualifications Framework (PQF):

While not a specific law, the Aquino administration contributed to the development and implementation of the PQF, a comprehensive framework that aligned Philippine education with international standards. The PQF aimed to enhance the quality and global competitiveness of Filipino graduates.
Expanded Government Assistance to Students and Teachers in Private Education (GASTPE):

The Aquino administration continued and expanded the GASTPE program, which provided financial assistance to qualified students and teachers in private education institutions.
Strengthening of Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET):

Various initiatives were undertaken to strengthen TVET programs, recognizing the importance of technical and vocational skills in addressing the needs of the job market.
It's important to note that some of these laws and programs were implemented in collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd), the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and other relevant government agencies. The Aquino administration's focus on education aimed to address long-term challenges, improve the quality of education, and enhance opportunities for Filipino students.
