Every employer has a duty of care to ensure their staff are safe, but when they work alone this can prove tricky. When a lone worker raises an alarm - whether manually or automatically - our 24/7 monitoring centre will respond and follow the escalation procedure set out in the employer’s lone worker policy to get help to them as soon as possible.
Our lone worker alarms come in many different forms, including standalone devices, Bluetooth buttons and bespoke apps that can be used on smartphones or tablets. These systems can be used by care workers, security guards, nurses, couriers, taxi drivers, shop assistants and hotel staff whose roles and environments require an extra level of safety when working alone.
Each lone worker device also features a 'Status Check' that provides an employee with visual feedback on the strength of network signal, GPS coverage and battery life on the lone worker safety device at any given time in time. This enables the user to make informed decisions as to whether they are going into any premises or situations that may present a safety risk.
'Check-in' Function
The 'check-in' functionality, through the push of a button on the personal safety device, allows a lone worker to leave a voice note that contains details of their current location and situation, e.g. their name, the name of their employer and any other contextual information that could help our ARC to identify their exact location in the event of a 'Red Alert' or 'Man Down Alarm' occurring. Man down This information should be left whenever a new lone worker enters an area that they feel is potentially 'at risk' or any time they do something they feel could put them in danger, to ensure our ARC have all the information they need to act quickly and effectively in the event of a 'Red or 'Man Down Alert' situation.
