Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was baptized December 7th, 1961 in Edo State of Nigeria. He is the first son of his father. His younger brother Pastor Ken Oyakhilomeis an important member of LoveWorld Incorporated. The sister of Pastor Ken Oyakhilome, Katty Worigren who was previously Oyakhilome is also involved in the ministry as the director at the LoveWorld Music & Arts Ministry.

Pastor Chris studied architecture at Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma, Nigeria. He is a doctoral honorary in divinity from Benson Idahosa University. He started a youth ministry program at the school.
