Minions Movie Review films
As a prequel to the Despicable Me motion pictures, Minions explains how these bumbling creatures got here into existence. Evolving from single-celled yellow organisms, they've devoted their lives to serving one master after one other, including a T-Rex and Napoleon. But when their newest master dies, the Minions are thrown right into a deep melancholy. Then one of their own, tall-and-skinny Kevin, devises a plan to find a new evil boss for his brethren to comply with, launching the trio right into a globe-trotting odyssey that takes them from frigid Antarctica to Nineteen Sixties New York City and ultimately fashionable London.

While the movie does not supply a lot that is new, its cast (led by Carell and the Minions themselves) manage to raise what might have been a rote and formulaic film into something slightly extra entertaining. Despite a rather generic plot and a bent to overindulge within the Minions' tiresome gobbledygook language, there's enough slapstick humor and 1970s music and trend references to make it worth trying out.


The story opens with the Minions - a group of squat, yellow creatures with no discernible personalities other than their recognizable shapes - wandering through a frozen panorama and tumbling down a snowy hill. After the trio's first mission with the Vicious 6 fails, Gru and Kevin are kidnapped by Knuckles, who demands that they offer him the Zodiac Stone. Director Kyle Balda doesn't deal with tons of of Minion characters as Chris Renaud did in the first two Despicable Me films, instead specializing in a few key members, including tall-and-skinny Kevin, short-one-eyed Stuart and the attention-deficit mini-Minions Bob and Otto. They're joined by a few dozen other Minions, along with Sandra Bullock as Scarlet Overkill and Jon Hamm as her inventor husband Herb.

Adding to the zaniness, many of the Villains tackle fearsome animal forms (dragon, snake, tiger, etc.) and the Minions attempt to fight them off utilizing a sequence of hilariously ineffective techniques. They embrace imitating ambulance sirens, kissing fireplace hydrants and repeatedly hitting one another over the head.

The resulting movie is not pretty a lot as good as the original Despicable Me, however it still presents plenty of laughs and a few cool visuals. Plus, the solid of characters is great, from Bullock and Hamm to Carell and Yeoh to the Minions themselves, who are as endearing as ever. The only actual disadvantage is the film's insipid, considerably tired writing that never rises above the level of rote and formulaic. Still, it's an alright computer-animated comedy that should maintain the eye of youthful audiences..
