Tusk Movie Review a wierd
From the director of Yoga Hosers and Cop Out comes this body horror movie a few man who turns his guest into a human walrus. It’s Tusk, and it stars Justin Long as Wallace Bryton, a podcaster who is kidnapped by a cannibalistic Canadian walrus-obsessed nutcase.


It’s a wierd turn for the Clerks and Red State director, who’s more accustomed to comedy, but that is an intriguing idea that might have been pulled off with some nice casting, some sharp course and a few better writing. Instead, we have a large number of a film that’s neither funny nor scary.

Tusk was conceived as a joke on Smith’s Smodcast podcast, where he requested his followers to tweet #yeswalrus or #nowalrus and allow them to know whether he should develop the story right into a full-blown movie. His followers responded in overwhelming numbers for him to go forward and do it, so he did, with one main caveat: he would only direct the film if he could star in it as properly. So he did, with Haley Joel Osment and Genesis Rodriguez becoming a member of him on this tale of insanity and mayhem.

The movie centers on Wallace, a podcaster who travels round interviewing folks and in search of out characters with attention-grabbing tales to inform. On considered หนังใหม่ of his excursions, he finds Howard Howe, who claims to have some fascinating sea and walrus-related adventures to share. Intrigued, Wallace flies up to Canada to fulfill him. But Howe doesn’t just have some interesting stories to tell; he also has some other things in mind for his new host.

From there, the movie turns into a horror story a few man who gets became a walrus. It’s a weird, twisted story that mixes components of horror and humor and could be very very related to The Human Centipede minus the coprophagia. It’s additionally pretty gory, with loads of blood and grotesque imagery.

The finest part of Tusk is its cast, especially Michael Parks, who was the standout in Smith’s different 2014 misfire, Red State. He’s just nearly as good right here, taking half in an insufferable prick with the kind of flamboyance that makes him a joy to look at. His preliminary scenes with Long are the spotlight of the movie.

Unfortunately, once the movie moves into the horror genre, it loses steam and seems like a gross-out gag. There are laughs to be had, however most of them come from the audience laughing at how dangerous all of it is.
