Expanding costs 5g for 1 province. If you want to expand overseas provinces you have to reach level 1 on National Technology. Also you need a dock, a transport ship and a unit.
Nations that started with overseas provinces will start with 1 free dock and 1 free transport ship. But expanding non-coastal provinces will cost them 10g per province.
Your stability shouldn't go under 0. I will bring your nation to chaos. When It's full (3) you will get positive national desicions. Increasing stability +1 costs 100g. So be careful on stability.
TECHNOLOGY
To upgrade technology your stability must be 3(full) You can upgrade technologies for 10g. It means that upgrading any technology to 2 will cost 30g (10g for 1st and 20g for 2nd)
You will get bonuses on every 2 levels.
Administrative Technology:
Level 1 - "We Rule!" - +15g income, you can now expand overseas provinces.

Level 10 - "This lands are not enough for us!" - You can now search new lands, When you found them your stability incrases to 3, +10g per turn.
Diploconomic Technology:
Level 2 - "Trade!" - You can now trade with players. But they need to reach Level 2 on Diploconomic Technology as well. You can trade with only 2 players on this level. Trading nations will gain +10g bonus income.
Level 4 - "Tradepost!" - You can now trade with 3 players.

Level 10 - "This lands are not enough for us!" - You can now search new lands, When you found them your stability incrases to 3, +10g per turn.
Military Technology:
Level 1 - 1 free armsmen unit.
Level 2 - Unlocks Archers, Spearmen and Catapults
Level 4 - Unlocks Crossbowmen and Swordsmen
Level 6 - Unlocks Light Cavalry, Trebuchets and Ballistas
Level 8 - Unlocks Galleys and Heavy Cavalry
Level 9 - Unlocks Caravels, Pikemen and Arbalesters
Level 10 - Unlocks Musketeers, Carracks, Cannons and Mortars
