Counter Strike Global Offensive 2
Counter strike global offensive 2 is a major improvement to the game. Valve introduces the wildly popular FPS game to their newer Source 2 Engine.
Touchstone maps are getting minor changes to their lighting and readability, while Upgraded maps get an overhaul complete with Source 2’s physically-based rendering.
A variety of gameplay enhancements are on the horizon as well as sub-tick updates that should reduce the dependence on tick rates to calculate precision actions.
Gameplay
Counter-Strike Global Offensive is the most recent installment in the popular Counter-Strike series, and features the same gameplay that has defined the genre. It was developed using Valve's Source 2 Engine and features high-resolution textures and real-time lighting. It has been updated with new weapons and gameplay features.
The game comes with 34 weapons, of which 19 are exclusive to the latest version. A lot of them are replacements for weapons from earlier versions and others have been designed to have distinct properties and roles.
The most significant changes are focused on the guns themselves. The SCAR-L was replaced by an entirely new weapon with a greater range and power as well as the AK-128 received an updated barrel that improves accuracy. Many other guns have been modified as well such as the M4A1 and the sniper rifles.
A number of the maps have been updated for CS:GO 2. Overpass was redesigned to take advantage of the new Source 2 engine, while other maps such as Dust II have been carefully updated. In addition to the new maps The game will include several other new features. For instance the game's interface has been upgraded and a brand new Item Workshop will allow players to create their own items.
The Faction system is a further significant change. Counter-Strike 2 offers a wide variety of T and CT models, while the previous edition offered two factions. Moreover, the game's server architecture has been modified to utilize sub-tick updates meaning that the servers can evaluate the world at very short intervals, like the instant that an opponent moves or fires a shot or throws an bomb.
Since its launch in 2012, CS:GO has become one of the most popular games on Steam, with an estimated 11 million players playing each month. There is also a large esports community with teams participating in various tournaments and leagues. The most notable of these is the Valve-sponsored Major Championships, where top teams compete for massive prize pools.
Weapons
Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CS:GO) is a game focused on fighting with arms and with 35 weapons to pick from players have a wide range of choices when it comes to selecting their primary weapon. The equipment used by players, such as armor, a defuse kit for CTs and grenades for Terrorists are also playing a significant role in the overall strategy of the game.
Each weapon has its own strengths and weaknesses. For instance, the AWP is a superb rifle for sniping, which can kill armored opponents above the legs with ease However, it also has an extremely slow rate of fire and is quite costly. The SCAR-20 has a high level of accuracy thanks to its scope, however it is also slow to reload, and reduce the player's speed.
New weapons in CS:GO also have some modifications to how they look. For instance, the HE explosive now explodes in a more realistic way and the smoke from molotov cocktail or incendiary grenades appears more real. This helps in tracking down players.
The weapons in CS:GO can be purchased at the buy zone located at each team's designated spawn point. Players can purchase any weapon in the game including knives and pistols. Players can use money to upgrade their weapons. The game now has an updated menu for players to shop more easily.
A few months after the game's release, Valve released a few updates to improve the gameplay of the game. The most notable changes concern the in-game chat system, which has been upgraded to block abusive language and spam. The UI for purchasing items has also been revamped, and now uses grid-based layout.
The game has also been improved by introducing a new anti-cheat system that has spectating as well as the ban system. The team that loses a round will be penalized. However, those who commit a crime will be banned. Valve has also made a few gameplay tweaks to the game to make it more enjoyable.
Maps
The Counter-Strike franchise is well-known for its maps and the expertise required to master the game. Each map is the culmination of years and sometimes decades of hard work. The most important thing you need to learn about the game is the variety of maps that are in the reserve and active pools as this strengthens your understanding of the game's mechanics and gives you additional tools to enjoy playing it.
Mirage is a popular CSGO map from the Active pool that was first introduced back in 2013 by Valve. The map is well-known for its good balance on both sides of the battle and high ceilings of skill for teams that wish to develop their coordination. love it is also a part of most esports events and major championships in CSGO.
Nuke is an iconic CSGO defusal map, which is loved by casual and professional players. The map has gone through several changes over the years but it remains one of the most complex tactical maps available in the game. The map's unique layout requires that you consider every angle and offers more ways to outmaneuver the opponent than any other map.
Overpass is a newer CSGO map, which was released by the Winter Offensive Update in 2013. The popularity of the map has increased since its release and it has made several appearances at major championships and esports events. The map is tiny but it is packed with options. From the long outer of A site to the tense corners of B site.
Vertigo is now part of the CSGO Active pool for 2019 and has impressed all who have played it. It has replaced one of the most beloved maps in CSGO however it is well-received by the players. The map is a bit CT sideways however that doesn't stop it from being among the most popular choices in queues. Canals are a feature of this map, which is another interesting feature. The canals are a great addition to the map, which makes it stand out from other CSGO Maps which are heavy on the outside.
Updates
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has been around for the past ten years and was in desperate need of an update. Valve confirmed today that the Source 2 beta test for CS:GO has begun. Fans have been waiting for a long time to experience this limited test. The studio has promised a "largest technological leap for the game" and a revamp of every aspect of the game.
The most prominent modification to the game is the switch to Source 2, a graphics engine that gives an experience that is more realistic in its visual. New lighting particles, particle systems, and a focus on making bullet impact more accessible from the distance are all a aspects of this. The switch to the new engine also led to the redesign of several maps that include a reworked version of Italy and Overpass.
But, most importantly, Valve's update is designed to improve the way that the server's architecture and tick rates handle gameplay actions. The switch to 128-tick server architecture should improve both the responsiveness as well as the graphic quality of the game. Valve promises that the change will be a "remarkable improvement" and will make CS:GO feel more responsive than before.
Players can expect to see a number of gameplay improvements in addition to the graphical changes. Smoke grenades, for instance, will now be 3D objects that are volumetric in the game world that can be used to alter the appearance of sightlines. Valve says that the upgrade to the server design of the game will allow sub tick updates. This should result in an improved and smoother experience.
Anyone who is interested can test the updated version of the game by logging into the test that is limited and will be available to a select group of players based on a few factors, including recent playtime and Steam account standing. Valve states that the cosmetics they collect during the current CSGO game will be transferred to the new game which is expected to launch later this summer. Esports Insider reached out to BLAST - the largest CS:GO Tournament organizer - to inquire whether they would be willing to provide an older version of their leagues until the update is released.
