Does Keyword Density Still Matter For Seo
If you read back through older information about search engine marketing (SEO), including information from 4-5 in the past, you'll probably recognize that keyword density played a crucial role in what sort of page ranked on the internet. In case you are unfamiliar with the phrase, "keyword density" refers to the ratio of one's target keywords on the rest of the words over a webpage. For example, a keyword density of 5% resulted in 5% of all of the words with a given page were your target keywords for that page.

Webmasters and SEO's (myself included) would spend quite a lot of time analyzing pages wanting to determine the ideal keyword density that might send our pages for the top with the search engines like yahoo. Each engine had their "sweet spot" if this located keyword density. If you may find that sweet spot, you are golden.



Unfortunately, days past have ended. So much of an pages ranking today is determined by FAR more than keyword density. When designing pages with seo planned today, I generally shoot for a keyword density any where from 3-15%. The density will often depend about the amount of text on the page. I don't' sweat it. I want the page to read naturally. I also try to include other "supporting" phrases inside the page such as synonyms and other words or phrases you would expect to get on a page while using keyword I am targeting. This is becoming more and more important, but I'll cover more in another article.
