The Great Gatsby Movie Review the good
When the good gatsby movie came out, I was so excited to see it. However after seeing it, i was disenchanted. I thought that it utterly missed the purpose of the guide and was an entire mess. The modern-day rap music, remixes and elaborate set items just took away from the story. I also felt that the director Baz Luhrmann was going for an extreme quantity of and overdid it. I perceive that he wanted to make it more entertaining and hip however I really feel like it simply distracted from the story. Overall the performing was good, particularly Leonardo DiCaprio's performance as Gatsby. He actually nailed the man's pains and struggles together with his compulsive smoothing of his hair, his tight crossing of his legs, the royal wave and his fixed fastening of that prime suit button. Overall the film is nicely carried out but it is undoubtedly not for everyone.

The story is set within the glittering era of Prohibition-era New York, but most of it takes place within the vacuous suburbs surrounding East Egg and West Egg -- a sooty wasteland that is home to millionaire party-giver Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio). Midwest native Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) moves right into a cottage subsequent door to Gatsby's mansion and throughout the bay from his cousin Daisy (Carey Mulligan) and her brutish husband, Tom Buchanan (Joel Edgerton). ซีรี่ย์จีนพากย์ไทย identifies with and admires Gatsby, whose dream of changing into a wealthy bond salesman quickly proves shattered. The two turn out to be pals, and Gatsby hopes to use Nick as a means back into Daisy's life.

In this version, the characters usually are not as fully rounded and the relationships aren't as plausible as they had been in Fitzgerald's novel. The script is also crammed with dialogue that sounds extra like a transcript than a pure dialog and some of the scenes are minimize or altered. Throughout the film, Luhrmann's stagey path -- with its frenetic digital camera movements and stylized dancing -- adds another layer of unnecessary distance between viewer and story.

Occasionally, though, one thing like real emotion pokes by way of the film's well-manicured surface, as when Gatsby tells the story of his first assembly with Daisy and his face lights up with that childlike hope. At different times, the movie feels extra like a PBS-style bare-bones adaptation of a basic the place actors deliver their lines rehearsed and uninspired.

Despite all that, the earnest cast -- notably Carey Mulligan as Daisy and Joel Edgerton as Tom -- carries the movie by way of the first half. But when the hysteria gives way to fatalism, the whole affair deflates. It's a reminder that even probably the most well-manicured productions can't keep away from the gravity of the material. This is a flawed but intriguing experiment that reveals simply how troublesome it can be to take F. Scott Fitzgerald's phrases and create a compelling film from them. PG-13.
