From cybersecurity, to the design and implementation of intelligent systems that can assist in diagnosing diseases or forecasting natural disasters, a degree in computer science opens doors to a variety of career paths in a broad range of industries.

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Information Systems is a fully accredited program designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to pursue employment opportunities in the field of computer science and information systems. This interdisciplinary program provides a solid foundation in core computing principles and practices, while allowing for extensive choice in concentrations and electives. Students will be able to customize their degrees by pursuing a concentration in web development, networking and information security, data analytics or coding and software development. In addition, students will be able to earn certifications in high demand skill areas, including Python Programming, LPI Linux Essential Professional Development Certificate and Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching.

Computer science is the scientific discipline that investigates the principles and applications of computation in a wide variety of disciplines, from biology to mathematics and beyond. Computer science includes the study of computer programming, software engineering, and computer architecture. It also encompasses the design, analysis and implementation of computers and their software; information technology management and a number of applied specializations such as data science, augmented reality/virtual/augmented reality and game development.

Gain a comprehensive understanding of the foundations of computer science and information systems with core courses in computing fundamentals, software engineering and database management. Apply sekolah tinggi ilmu komputer in the design, creation and implementation of software systems that support a variety of applications, from e-commerce to social media to bioinformatics.

Students will explore the specialized processes and techniques used to create 3D, virtual/augmented reality and mobile application games. Gain experience in the full design cycle of a game, from story/script and character design to animation, level design, user interface implementation and sound editing. Games are widely utilized in the entertainment industry but are increasingly being employed by organizations to develop serious applications such as training, medical simulations and flight simulators.

All Computer Science majors are required to participate in a Senior Design project where they work as part of a team to develop a technical solution to a specific problem. These projects are sponsored by industry partners and give students valuable experience in working with professionals in a collaborative environment.
