The SOS feature is a great way to alert emergency services.
It lets you call for help if you’re in trouble, and also lets you share your location with emergency contacts, letting them know how far away you are. To enable this feature, you need to create emergency contacts and give them permission to share information with your phone.
To add emergency contacts, tap the Add contact button and choose a person you trust. You can enter a phone number, email address, or both.
When you do, they’ll receive a text message that includes your current location and updates on when it changes for a period of time after you enter SOS mode. You can change this setting at any time to prevent updates being sent to your emergency contacts.
You can also turn on the Auto Call option, which automatically makes a call whenever you press five buttons on your iPhone. This is particularly useful if you’re not comfortable with using the slider, or if you don’t have access to your phone.
If you’re using an Apple Watch, you can make an emergency call with the side button on the watch, which is a similar experience to the iPhone version of this feature. You can enable it by opening the Watch app on your iOS device and selecting Emergency SOS.
You can also add medical information and emergency contacts to your lock screen, making it easy for first responders to find them.
