VENEZUELA

Located in the northern part of the South American continent, on the Caribbean Sea with ~70 islands/islets.

the Paria Peninsula is the first place Christofer Columbus set foot on in the south American continent.

the country has 23 states, each with its own flag. The capital of Venezuela is Caracas, it is the largest city.

Venezuela has a dispute with Guyana in the Essequibo region, the area is claimed by Venezuela but is administered by the country of Guyana... this goes all the way back to the 1899 Arbital award which established the borders between Venezuela and British Guyana, which is now Guyana. this inevitably led to the Geneva agreement in 1966 which stated that the 2 sides "Try to work on something" but if no resolution was settled upon, by default the region would remain under administration of the government of Guyana until one was made, and so far, none have been made.

the country has 5 main physical regions. they have mountain ranges surrounding the west region. and the rest of the regions consist of flat plains.

now, time for Venezuela resources and economy:
#1. discovered in the 1910s was petrolatum.
#2. Venezuela has the largest proven oil reserves in the world.
#3. in 2014 rationing programs began due to hyperinflation, everything from food to utilities. in 2007, Corpoelec was formed by immerging 16 state own private electric companies managed by a general in the army named Luis Motta Dominguez, and he announced the electric companies reset their debt with their users. then the government tried to regulate food and basic needs with a biometric fingerprint system which today is only used in gas stations at of regulated super cheap prices. for a long time, Venezuela had been hyper dependent on their oil wealth. money was so undervalued, that people would sell handicrafts that costed more than the paper currency (at the time was bolivars). government actions clearly had their effect, people said the blackouts in 2019 was the last straw, so they took a different turn and unofficially "adopted" the dollar.
