LESSON 1 Introduction - Technology Invades Objectives in the Business World

Technology is now utilized in 1-communication, 2-data Management, 3-Manufacturing, 4-Marketing, 5-e-commerce, and so much more.

LESSON 2 Robots and Robotics Industry
Robot is a word that refers to a mechanical device that is programmed to perform tasks that require accuracy and speed. People invented robots to do tasks that occur in conditions that are hazardous to humans, like extreme heat or pollution.

The rules for making robots according to the Robotic Institute of America are:

1. A robot may not be programmed to injure or hurt any human.
2. A robot must be programmed to obey the orders of a human (unless this contradicts rule number one).
3. A robot must be programmed to protect itself from destruction (unless this contradicts rule number one or two).

Robots in different industries:
ROBOTS IN THE AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY:

THE AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY has been using robots for manufacturing and assembling automobiles for over five decades.
How are robots involved in the Automobile industry?
1. Robots handle welding in narrow places like under the car's frame
2. Robots do tasks that could be hazardous to humans, like painting, thus reducing human exposure to dangerous chemicals.
3. Robots have no health hazard limitations.
4. Robots work efficiently for long hours with maximum accuracy. They do not get tired like humans; they save money and time.


ROBOTS IN EXPLORATIONS AND DISCOVERY:
How can robots access dangerous places?
1-- Robots don't need light to see, they withstand very high and low temperatures, and they don't need air to breathe.
2--Robots can be programmed to collect and analyze samples and can be controlled by humans remotely. They make life-threatening situations less dangerous.
3--They solve difficult problems like finding and fixing the source of leakage in an oil pump under the sea, diffuse a bomb and fight crime without exposing the lives of innocent people to danger.
4--Robots are also helping people discover the universe. They have been sent on missions to Mars and beyond to discover the universe and are helping scientists further understand how our universe works.

LESSON 3: TECHNOLOGY IN MEDICINE
How did Technology assist in Medicine?
- Advancements in analytical and imaging, technology made it possible to detect diseases in the beginning stages and increased the chances for a cure.
-Technology made it possible to learn more about the human body, which helped scientists to find cures for more diseases than ever before.


TECHNOLOGY AND THE ENVIRONMENT:
What are the effects of technology on the environment?
~ The high demand for more technical devices made it necessary to open more factories. More factories mean more pollution.
~Technology is used to save energy and create safer and cleaner alternatives to fossil fuels, which cause lots of pollution and are in demand.
~Technology development causes high demand for scarce resources such as oil.
GREEN BUSINESS: Businesses that choose to be environment friendly. They make such a commitment because "going green" complements their mission of serving humanity and mankind.

How do businesses go green?
* WHEN IT STARTS TO REDUCE THE USE OF ENERGY AND OTHER RESOURCES LIKE WATER AND PAPER.
*businesses use recycling and change their system in a way that reduces THE USE OF MATERIAL. THEY USE EQUIPMENT THAT CAN BE RECYCLED TO MINIMISE THE AMOUNT OF WASTE PRODUCED BY THE BUSINESS.
