When you have heart failure, it is difficult to sleep flat on your back (or with one pillow) as the fluid in your lungs covers more surface area causing you to wake up short of breath. Proof of successful treatment would mean less waking up during the night and the ability to sleep more horizontally as there would be less fluid covering the length of your lungs.
