Thanks! to everyone who made yesterday's worship service happen. I'm grateful for all of you!

For March, we will be preparing our hearts for Easter Sunday (March 31). We will do a short study of Luke 22-24 throughout March where we will end up celebrating the resurrection of Jesus our Lord from the dead. We will begin this Sunday, March 3, in Luke 22 where we will learn about the Lord's Supper and partake in it at the end of the service. I hope you will be here this Sunday!

Also, throughout March, we will be learning a new song - "The Lord Almighty Reigns" by the Gettys. Watch, listen, and learn it at https://youtu.be/2TdEZXPuKOo?si=6fS4w9M0iTUuQ0NP

Those who attend Sunday School will also be studying the book "I Am a Church Member" by Thom Rainer. Please read through Chapter One and be prepared to discuss it this Sunday.

Finally, nobody wants to talk about it, but I think we all need to discuss the current reality of and the future viability of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Many of you have to be concerned about the continued low attendance, giving that is not keeping up with the budget (if we didn't have some money in the bank, we could not continue to meet in this building), having more deaths than baptisms, having no children or youth, and the age, energy, and ability of many of our people to do outreach and other things that might reach new people. All of these things are signs of a church that is on life-support or in hospice care. Maybe you are surprised by this but it is true and we need to talk about it. So please set aside Wednesday, March 13 at 6:00pm (it will be lighter longer with daylight saving time) to meet together in the main hallway Sunday School room to discuss this and learn of possible solutions.

I and the church need your prayers for the Lord's guidance and provision. I want to see this church leave a legacy for gospel ministry in Midland and throughout the Bay Area Baptist Association.

Be thinking and praying about these things and feel free to call, text, email, or drop by and visit me with your thoughts, questions, and ideas. I'm normally in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9:30am and 4:30pm.

In Christ,
Pastor David
