Sexual Assault Grievance Laid Towards Port Elizabeth Specialist
The Summer Sunset Concert on Lords on Saturday afternoon was by all accounts a great success! The participants, all one hundred ten of them, enjoyed providing the music. The programme included the String Ensemble, First Band, Concert Band, Saxonettes and six Marimba Groups. It was all about giving everybody a chance to perform after such a lengthy time.
The first subtle smell of smoke grew to become stronger and extra highly effective with every whiff, as it drifted off throughout the valley and over our city. The flames, as quickly as small and simmering, become more offended with each passing minute. We started our Winter vacation final Friday, and what a well-deserved break this might be for our pupils and workers alike. We spoke to Mrs Amy Ballantyne recently to share her teaching philosophy with us and to talk to her about how they've tackled on-line studying in the Foundation Phase at the Junior School.

The Kingswood College 1st XI took on the St Andrew’s College 1st XI last weekend in a nail-biting match. Our Kingswood 1st Girls and Boys Tennis teams played in the Settlers Cup yesterday. With the welcome rains and our return to the College campus, we look forward to an exciting and busy first time period. It is such a fantastic honour for me to head up such an essential and historical institution and I want to thank all our Kingswoodian families which have been so welcoming over the previous few weeks. I sit up for the 12 months and am cognizant of the challenges that I could face, nonetheless I sit up for serving the Kingswood group for a few years to return. It is a 40 day period before Easter where we are invited to look at our hearts and draw nearer to God.
South Africa has lately passed one hundred days of lockdown and the end of the road is certainly not visible. A new journey could be daunting and challenging, but fun and rewarding. And so it had been for the members of the Music School, each academics and pupils.
We are so grateful that the Covid-19 pandemic has still allowed us to rejoice and mark this momentous occasion in the lives of the families who have joined our college. There is something brewing in the Makhanda air and it's exciting. We are very pleased to announce that we within the advanced levels of formalizing a partnership with and Endligh Priemiership Club, Gloucester Rugby. At assembly yesterday on the 20th anniversary of reinstituton of the hike since 2005, an award was made to Kingswood pupil, Kirstin Armstrong who's it is the first Kingswood pupil to finish five hikes. One of our academics, Mrs Serfontein has also completed her fifth Kowie Dash. There is always a way we will make a significant impression on someone else’s life.

For the length of the week they opened our pupil’s eyes to new methods of considering, robotics and engineering systems. Last Thursday a gaggle of our Kingswood employees attended a half day workshop led by Inspire Africa, a group who stay by their tagline ‘creating the long run today’ with their Inspire S.T.E.A.M. Drone Programme.

During our assembly this morning we had been extraordinarily proud to have the flexibility to award two Honours awards certificates to Catherine Williamson for both Swimming and Water Polo. Boys and ladies from all age teams competed to achieve factors for their respective houses. Yesterday our Kingswood boys marked International Women’s Day by recognising the women that form part of the Kingswood family. On Monday, 29 March 2021, Kingswood College hosted the inaugural Uyinene Mrwetyana Commemorative Lecture in partnership with the Uyinene Mrwetyana Foundation. Inspired by the UN’s World Creativity and Innovation Day that was celebrated in April our Junior School hosted a Science, Creativity and Technology Day yesterday.
Once again, the Eastern Cape delivered some wonderful opportunities for both fun and learning for our junior pupils by way of their latest grade excursions. A variety of our Junior School musicians played within the Sundowner Concert held on Thursday 3 June. The programme feature music for brass (trumpet and euphonium), woodwind (flute, clarinet, saxophone), violin and piano.
