Both Bernard & John have been outcasted and rejected from society, they seem to have similer experiences. Thus they hold alot of differences. Bernard & John have different backgrounds , as John is born in a uncivilzed town in New Mexico and his uneducated. However, Bernard was raised amongst more civilzed and higher social class people. John is bullied and insulted due to the racial differences, language barrier and the fact that his mother is defined as a hore. John recevies education by reading Shakespear. Bernard is born defected, he is smaller than average size, people found his as strange and odd person as he looks different but he wants to fit in the society. Both are mistreated and not accpeted by the society. Bernard is a alpha who has different behavior, as he doesn't believe in the idea of the conformity. The similarities are that they both hold different ideas from the society, as John is more a observer due to his upbrining and he feels lonely and Bernard feels lonely as no one can understand him due to his differences.
