Components Influencing Belly Microbiome in Diet program.
The prevalence and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) profile were investigated in Campylobacter jejuni and Campylobacter coli in chicken and pork in Fukuoka, Japan in 2019. Their AMR profiles were compared with those of C. jejuni and C. coli strains isolated in 2013. A total of 53 chicken and 14 pork samples were collected from different supermarkets in Fukuoka in 2019. Campylobacter spp. were isolated by conventional method and characterized by PCR and MALDI-TOF MS. Among 53 chicken samples tested in 2019, 24.5% and 5.7% were positive for C. jejuni and C. coli, respectively, and three (21.4%) of 14 pork samples were positive for C. coli, but not C. jejuni. From the positive samples, 13 and six strains of C. jejuni and C. coli were isolated, respectively. Antimicrobial susceptibility test against 12 different antimicrobials were performed on 48 isolates (43 C. jejuni and five C. coli) from chicken in 2013 and 19 isolates (13 C. jejuni from chicken, three C. coli from chicken and three C. coli from pork) in 2019 19 were resistant to seven and five antibiotics, respectively. All the C. coli isolates from pork in 2019 were resistant to five antibiotics. The high frequency of AMR strains in C. coli isolates from pork suggests that appropriate use of antimicrobials is required in swine husbandry.Peanuts and peanut products are significant revenue sources for smallholder farmers in the Senegalese peanut basin. However, microbial contamination during production and storage can greatly affect market access for producers. Peanut products have emerged as possible sources of foodborne illness, encouraging discussions on international standards for peanuts. In this study, we interviewed 198 households throughout the Senegalese peanut basin to assess current production practices, storage methods, and producers' prior knowledge of microbial contamination using a 162-question survey. A member of each household orally completed the survey with a trained enumerator and the results were compared to microbiological results obtained from peanut samples collected at the time of the interview using linear regression and an analysis of variance model. Samples were collected from stored peanuts at each household; peanuts were shelled and total Enterobacteriaceae, coliform, and yeast and mold populations were enumeratedge container type and if peanuts were stored off the ground were included in the regression model, these methods were predictive of contamination levels for Enterobacteriaceae and coliforms. To our knowledge, this is the first study to analyze the relationship among Enterobacteriaceae, coliforms, and yeast and mold contamination and producer knowledge of Senegalese peanuts. These results provide preliminary data to inform future studies to determine pathogen prevalence and impactful preventative measures to minimize microbial contamination of peanuts produced in Senegal.A Template system for a prediction of human CYP2E1-mediated reactions (Drug Metab Rev 2011) has been refined with the introduction of ideas of Trigger-residue and the residue-initiated movement of ligands in the active site. The refined system also includes ideas of bi-molecule binding and angled-placement, which allow to sit diverse types of ligands on Template. With the use of these ideas in common with other Template systems for human CYP1A1, CYP1A2 and CYP3A4 (Drug Metab Pharmacokinet 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2020), 349 reactions of 192 distinct chemicals published as CYP2E1 ligands were examined in the refined system. FFR is an event-related potential (ERP) that reflects early auditory processing. We predicted that schizophrenia patients would show acute- and longer-term FFR malleability in the context of TCT. Patients were randomized to either TCT (n = 30) or treatment as usual (TAU; n = 22), and electroencephalography was recorded during rapid presentation of an auditory speech stimulus before treatment, after one hour of training, and after 30 h of training. Whereas patients in the TCT group did not show changes in FFR after training, amplitude reductions were observed in the TAU. FFR was positively associated with performance on a measure of single word-in-noise perception in the TCT group, and with a measure of sentence-in-noise perception in both groups. Psychometric reliability analyses of FFR scores indicated high internal consistency but low one-hour and 12-week test-rest reliability. These findings support the dissociation between measures of speech discriminability along the hierarchy of cortical and subcortical early auditory information processing in schizophrenia.The long-term impact of the COVID-19 infection on mental health in people and its relation to the severity is unclear. We aimed to study the long-term effect of post-COVID-19 disease on sleep and mental health and to detect possible relationship between severity of COVID-19 at onset and sleep and mental illness. We enrolled 182 participants 6 months post COVID-19 infection and grouped into non-severe(101),severe(60) and critical(20) according to according to WHO guidance. All participants were assessed using Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index ", Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) Checklist for DSM-5, and Symptom Checklist90 test. Only 8.8% had no psychiatric symptoms while 91.2% had psychiatric symptoms as follow (poor sleep (64.8%), PTSD (28.6%), somatization (41.8%), obsessive-compulsive (OCD) (19.8%), depression (11.5%), anxiety (28%), phobic-anxiety (24.2%), psychoticism (17.6%)). Diabetes, oxygen support or mechanically ventilated were a risk for sleep impairment, while high Neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio(NLR) was the only risk factor for PTSD. Other psychiatric illnesses had several risk factors being female, diabetes, oxygen support or mechanically ventilated. Abnormal sleep, somatization and anxiety are the most common mental illnesses in Post-Covid19. The critical group is common associated with PTSD, anxiety, and psychosis. Being female, diabetic, having oxygen support or mechanically ventilated, and high NLR level are more vulnerable for mental illness in post COVID19.The excited state dynamics processes of two diphenylamine substituted symmetric 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives in different solvents were studied through femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy. It was revealed that in cyclohexane, the locally excited (LE) state relaxes to the intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) state within 2 ps timescale, then decays to the ground state. In tetrahydrofuran and acetonitrile, the ICT state can be stabilized via solvation, so besides the LE → ICT conversion within 1 ps, another ICT → solvent stabilized ICT (SSICT) conversion in the 1-200 ps time scale could also be observed, and eventually decay to the ground state. Whereas, ICT → SSICT process in acetonitrile is slower than that in tetrahydrofuran, which leads to radiationless deactivation dominates the ICT state deactivation process and low fluorescence quantum efficiency. These results offer a guidance to understand the relationship of low fluorescence quantum efficiency and excited state deactivation mechanism of organic π-conjugated molecules, which would be very helpful for designing new advanced opto-electronic materials.Decentralization is a central characteristic of biological motor control that allows for fast responses relying on local sensory information. In contrast, the current trend of Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) based approaches to motor control follows a centralized paradigm using a single, holistic controller that has to untangle the whole input information space. This motivates to ask whether decentralization as seen in biological control architectures might also be beneficial for embodied sensori-motor control systems when using DRL. To answer this question, we provide an analysis and comparison of eight control architectures for adaptive locomotion that were derived for a four-legged agent, but with their degree of decentralization varying systematically between the extremes of fully centralized and fully decentralized. Our comparison shows that learning speed is significantly enhanced in distributed architectures-while still reaching the same high performance level of centralized architectures-due to smaller search spaces and local costs providing more focused information for learning. Second, we find an increased robustness of the learning process in the decentralized cases-it is less demanding to hyperparameter selection and less prone to becoming trapped in poor local minima. Finally, when examining generalization to uneven terrains-not used during training-we find best performance for an intermediate architecture that is decentralized, but integrates only local information from both neighboring legs. Together, these findings demonstrate beneficial effects of distributing control into decentralized units and relying on local information. This appears as a promising approach towards more robust DRL and better generalization towards adaptive behavior.An improved technique for sensing damage initiation and progression in thermoplastic resin composite plate specimens is presented in this study. The composite plate specimens are investigated by using a nonlinear ultrasonic (NLU) technique called Sideband Peak Count Index or SPC-I. The technique presented in this paper is an improvement from the previous SPC-I technique. This improved technique provides more reliable and consistent results and can monitor the damage progression over a wide range. In this paper the narrow band SPC-I technique is introduced to replace the conventional wide band SPC-I technique. The method implemented here is improved in three ways. First and foremost the narrow band SPC-I technique is introduced. Lastly, higher sampling rate equipment is used for better signal resolution and peak counting. The experiments are performed on 4 sets of composite plate specimens fabricated using two composite fiber materials (Glass and Basalt) that have increasing levels of damage. The composite plate specimens were damaged by a falling weight impact machine with increasing impact energy (0 J, 10 J, 20 J and 30 J). The composite plate specimens were examined by propagating a narrow band chirp signal through the specimens using gel coupled transducers in a transmission mode setup. The received signals were recorded and analyzed using the NLU SPC-I technique. The modified SPC-I technique proposed in this paper can reliably and consistently detect both initiation and progression of damage in the composite plate specimens.
