The growing globalization has changed the goals and methods of diplomacy. Due to the challenges and complexities of dealing with noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) at the national and international levels, policy makers require global health diplomacy (GHD) to achieve the goals of prevention and control of NCDs. The purpose of this systematic review was to identify the challenges and opportunities in GHD for NCDs.
A systematic review of articles was conducted by searching MEDLINE via PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and Embase and by using Google and Google Scholar search engines. Additional articles were identified by reviewing reference lists and a number of special journals. The inclusion criteria include literature published in English from 2007 to 2020, and the exclusion criteria are literature published in any language other than English, absence of full text, dissertations, and duplicates. Overall, 32 articles met the requirements for inclusion in this review and were analyzed using content analysis inindustry conflicts, and leverage foreign policy to promote health and welfare.
Various challenges at the global level, national level, and industry led to less engagement of policymakers in GHD for prevention and control of NCDs and, as a consequence, a less coordinated approach to address prevention and control of NCDs worldwide. So, there is a need for more efforts of collective action and negotiation for tackling NCDs. Policymakers and managers of the health system should increase the advocacy, building a coalition with civil society, use negotiation and diplomacy to engage with other sectors and organizations, manage industry conflicts, and leverage foreign policy to promote health and welfare.Increasing evidence indicates that the tumor microenvironment appears to play an increasingly important role in cancer progression and therapeutic resistance. Several types of cells within the tumor stroma had distinct impacts on cancer progression, either promoting or inhibiting cancer cell growth. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are a distinct type of cells that is linked to tumor development. MSCs are recognized for homing to tumor locations and promoting or inhibiting cancer cell proliferation, angiogenesis and metastasis. Moreover, emerging studies suggests that MSCs are also involved in therapeutic resistance. In this review, we analyzed the existing researches and elaborate on the functions of MSCs in cancer progression and anticancer therapeutic resistance, demonstrating that MSCs may be a viable cancer therapeutic target.
For many low and middle-income countries poor quality health care is now responsible for a greater number of deaths than insufficient access to care. This has in turn raised concerns around the distribution of quality of care in LMICs do the poor have access to lower quality health care compared to the rich? The aim of this study is to investigate the extent of inequalities in the availability of quality health services across the Indonesian health system with a particular focus on differences between care delivered in the public and private sectors.
Using the Indonesian Family Life Survey (wave 5, 2015), 15,877 households in 312 communities were linked with a representative sample of both public and private health facilities available in the same communities. Quality of health facilities was assessed using both a facility service readiness score and a knowledge score constructed using clinical vignettes. Ordinary least squares regression models were used to investigate the determinants of quality in public and private health facilities.
In both sectors, inequalities in both quality scores existed between major islands. In public facilities, inequalities in readiness scores persisted between rural and urban areas, and to a lesser extent between rich and poor communities.

Maternal metabolic disorders are linked to reduced metabolic health and oocyte quality. Obese women are advised to lose weight before conception to increase pregnancy chances. However, as human studies show no univocal guidelines, more research is necessary to provide fundamental insights in the consequences of dietary weight loss on oocyte quality. Therefore, we investigated the impact of diet normalization or calorie restricted diet for two, four or six weeks, as preconception care intervention (PCCI), in obese mice on metabolic health and oocyte quality.
Outbred female mice were fed a control (CTRL) or high-fat (HF) diet for 7 weeks (7w). The severity of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is classified based on mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP) levels. However, other markers have not been elucidated. Fibrinolytic markers, such as total plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (tPAI-1) and thrombomodulin (TM), are known to reflect arterial endothelial function. However, the relationship between serum tPAI-1, TM and pulmonary circulation has not been completely determined.
This study included 100 consecutive patients (38 men), with a mean age of 68.9 ± 12.0 years, with cardiac diseases who underwent right heart catheterization. Serum coagulation and fibrinolytic marker levels were measured.
The average mPAP value was 25.1 ± 13.1 mmHg for all patients. The mPAP levels revealed a significant positive correlation with serum tPAI-1 (ρ = 0.24, p = 0.042) and uric acid (ρ = 0.29, p = 0.0031) levels. In the group with mPAP levels less than 25 mmHg (n = 58, ave. 17.3 ± 4.3 mmHg), mPAP levels showed a significant positive correlation with serum tPA-1 (ρ = 0.34, p = 0.034) and TM (ρ = 0.34, p = 0.043) values. The mean tPAI-1 (29.8 ± 23.3 ng/ml, p = 0.047) and uric acid (5.7 ± 1.8 mg/dl, p = 0.026) levels were significantly less in those with lower mPAP levels. A multivariate analysis revealed that tPAI-1 alone was a significant independent characteristic marker of PAH (odds ratio 1.02, 95%CI 1.000-1.036, p = 0.034).
These results indicate that serum tPAI-1 and TM may be useful predictors of severity, similar to mPAP in patients with PAH. They could be beneficial in predicting PAH among patients in the early stage of the disease.

It is being used more frequently by researchers and practitioners in various health and social care settings. Co-design has the potential for achieving positive outcomes for the end users involved in the process; however, involvement of diverse ethnic minority population in the process remains limited. While the need to engage with diverse voices is identified, there is less information available on how to achieve meaningful engagement with these groups. Ethnic minorities are super-diverse population and the diversity between and within these groups need consideration for optimising their participation in co-design. Based on our experience of working with diverse ethnic minority groups towards the co-design of consumer engagement strategies to improve patient safety in cancer services as part of the two nationally-funded research projects in Australia, we outline reflections and practical techniques to optimise co-design with people from diverse ethnic backgrounds. We identify three key aspects of the co-design process pertinent to the involvement of this population; 1) starting at the pre-commencement stage to ensure diverse, seldom heard consumers are invited to and included in co-design work, 2) considering logistics and adequate resources to provide appropriate support to address needs before, during and beyond the co-design process, and 3) supporting and enabling a diversity of contributions via the co-design process.
The rhomboids are a family of multi-transmembrane proteins, many of which have been implicated in facilitating tumor progression. Little is yet known, however, about rhomboid-associated biomarkers in cancers. An analysis of such biomarkers could yield important insights into the role of the rhomboids in cancer pathology.
In this study, we carried out the univariate Cox regression analysis and compared gene expression patterns of several rhomboid genes in 30 types of cancers by using The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and the methods delineated in Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis (GEPIA). We then used datasets GSE47032, GSE126964, GSE68417 and 75 paired pathological specimens to verify the influences of the rhomboid genes in cancer progression. Moreover, we carried out Weighted Gene Correlation Network Analysis (WGCNA) to investigate gene-related functions and we exploited potential correlations between rhomboid genes expression and immune cell infiltration in cancer tissues. Furthermorerotein level. Furthermore, we show that RHBDF2 related cell migration and PD-L1 regulation were potentially mediated by EGFR signaling pathway.

Ferroptosis is a recently recognised new type of cell death which may be a potential target for cancer therapy. In the present study, we aimed to screen ferroptosis-related differentially expressed long non-coding RNAs as biomarkers to predict the outcome of kidney renal clear cell carcinoma.
RNAseq count data and corresponding clinical information were obtained from the Cancer Genome Atlas database. Lists of ferroptosis-related genes and long non-coding RNAs were obtained from the FerrDb and GENCODE databases, respectively. The candidate prognostic signatures were screened by Cox regression analyses and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator analyses.
Three ferroptosis-related long non-coding RNAs (DUXAP8, LINC02609, and LUCAT1) were significantly correlated with the overall survival of kidney renal clear cell carcinoma independently. Kidney renal clear cell carcinoma patients with high-risk values displayed worse OS. Meanwhile, the expression of these three ferroptosis-related long non-coding RNAs and their risk scores were significantly correlated with clinicopathological features.
