A targeted clinical guideline review was also completed.
One-hundred studies provided quantitative data; 57 were available as full-text articles, whilst the remaining 43 were presented as abstracts or posters. Impulse oscillometry (IO) is a non-invasive pulmonary function test for measuring respiratory impedance. Available reference equations of IO indices for adults are limited. The aim of this study was to develop reference equations of IO indices for Chinese adults.
In a multicentral, cross-sessional study of IO in Chinese adults, IO data from healthy subjects were collected from 19 general hospitals across China between 2016 and 2018. Oscillometry measurements were conducted in accordance with recommendations of the European Respiratory Society (ERS). Multiple linear regression was performed to develop sex-specific reference equations of IO indices.
IO measurements were performed in 1,318 subjects, of which 567 subjects were defined as healthy individuals with acceptable IO data and were included in the final analysis. Reference equations and limits of normal [lower limit of normal (LLN)/upper limit of normal (ULN)] of IO indices were developed separately for males and females. In China, where Rheumatic heart disease is still prevalent, two thirds of valve replacements are in mitral position. Before a valve replacement operation is conducted, most patients have reached Class III/IV heart function under the New York Heart Association (NYHA) classification system. As the background to this disease is quite different to that of degenerated cases, which are more prevalent in Western countries, the development of an artificial heart valve that is suitable for local patients is very significant for China. In this medium long-term clinical follow-up study, a data analysis was conducted of domestic heart valve production for mitral replacement.

Eighteen SPF SD rats (4-5-week old) were divided into three groups SD-0.2 (Group A), SD-0.4 (Group B), and SD-0.6 (Group C). The groups A, B and C were given 0.2%, 0.4%, and 0.6% BAPN solution, respectively, as drinking water for seven weeks. Forty SPF C57BL/6 mice (3-week old) were randomly divided into four groups C57-0.2 (Group D), C57-0.4 (Group E), C57-0.6 (Group F) and the control group and given 0.2%, 0.4%, or 0.6% BAPN or distilled water as drinking water, respectively, for seven weeks. All experimental animals were free to drink water. The aortas were dissected and visually examined. At the same time, hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining was performed in aorta tissue. The vascular diameter and area of the middle membrane were measured with IPP (Image-Pro Plus 6.0).

To analyze the clinical characteristics and predictors for mortality of adult younger than 60 years old with severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
We retrospectively retrieved data for 152 severe inpatients with COVID-19 including 60 young patients in the Eastern Campus of Wuhan University affiliated Renmin Hospital in Wuhan, China, from January 31, 2020 to February 20, 2020. We recorded and analyzed patients' demographic, clinical, laboratory, and chest CT findings, treatment and outcomes data.
Of those 60 severe young patients, 15 (25%) were died. Male was more predominant in deceased young patients (12, 80%) than that in recovered young patients (22, 49%). Hypertension was more common among deceased young patients (8, 53%) than that in recovered young patients (7, 16%). Compared with the recovered young patients, more deceased young patients presented with sputum (11, 73%), dyspnea (12, 80%) and fatigue (13, 87%). Only sputum, PSI and neutrophil counts were remained as independent predictors oficoagulation therapy. The expanded SMART-COP could predict the fatal outcomes with optimal efficiency.
Sudden cardiac death (SCD) accounts for a large proportion of the total deaths across different age groups. Although numerous candidate genes related to SCD have been identified by genetic association studies and genome wide association studies (GWAS), the molecular mechanisms underlying SCD are still unclear, and the biological functions and interactions of these genes remain obscure. To clarify this issue, we performed a comprehensive and systematic analysis of SCD-related genes by a network and pathway-based approach.
By screening the publications deposited in the PubMed and Gene-Cloud Biotechnology Information (GCBI) databases, we collected the genes genetically associated with SCD, which were referred to as the SCD-related gene set (SCDgset). To analyze the biological processes and biochemical pathways of the SCD-related genes, functional analysis was performed. To explore interlinks and interactions of the enriched pathways, pathway crosstalk analysis was implemented. To construct SCD-specific molecular networks, Markov cluster algorithm and Steiner minimal tree algorithm were employed.
