A phylogenomic tree based on genome sequence of G11-30T, conferred by Type Strain Genome Server (TYGS), separated it from L. profunda CHu50b-6-2T. Strain G11-30T has a complete genome size of 2.59 Mb, with a G + C content of 66.2 mol%. The digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH) score between strain G11-30T and reference strains L. profunda CHu50b-6-2T and G. tibetensis MP203T were 20.1 and 20.3%, respectively. Concurrently, Average Nucleotide Identity (ANI) score between strain G11-30 T against. profunda CHu50b-6-2T and G. tibetensis MP203T were 76.2 and72.5%, respectively. Based on phenotypic, phylogenetic and genotypic data, a novel species, Lacisediminihabitans changchengi sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is G11-30T (= CCTCC AA 2019080T = KCTC49359T).Despite national and international recommendations and while there is no evidence for increased efficacy of higher doses, several studies suggested that the prescribed doses in routine practice are higher than the maximal recommended doses in 20-40% of schizophrenia patients worldwide.
the aims of the present study were (1) to describe the patterns of antipsychotic daily dose prescriptions in routine clinical practice in a large and representative cohort of French schizophrenia patients and, (2) to study the characteristics of patients receiving higher doses.

in all cases, regardless of the antipsychotic treatment used, the average dose was greater than 1.0 defined daily dose (DDDeq), which is the average recommended dose. For SGA, the mean DDDeq ranged from 1.2 for aripiprazole to 1.6 for olanzapine and clozapine, respectively. Entinostat For a given patient, the mean ± S.D. total daily cumulative dose (TCD) of antipsychotic was 1.9 ± 2.4 DDDeq. A "high dose" was defined as a TCD  ≥ 1.5 DDDeq, 789 (45.2%) patients received a "high dose". Patients in the "high dose" group were more frequently suffering from a more severe paranoid schizophrenia, had more often a comorbid antisocial personality disorder and/or a substance use disorder.

the present study suggests that in France, antipsychotic drugs doses prescribed by psychiatrists are higher, compared to other countries. All recommendations agree on the fact that the preferential dose should be the "minimum-effective" dose. Optimizing prescribing practices would be important to optimize the benefit/risk ratio and to minimize the risks side effects.

Although this work has consistently demonstrated optimal integration of visual cues (e.g., landmarks) with body-based cues (e.g., path integration) during human navigation, little work has investigated how cues of the same sensory type are integrated in spatial memory. A few recent studies have reported mixed results, with some showing very little benefit to having access to more than one landmark, and others showing that multiple landmarks can be optimally integrated in spatial memory. In the current study, we employed a combination of immersive and non-immersive virtual reality spatial memory tasks to test adult humans' ability to integrate multiple landmark cues across six experiments. Our results showed that optimal integration of multiple landmark cues depends on the difficulty of the task, and that the presence of multiple landmarks can elicit an additional latent cue when estimating locations from a ground-level perspective, but not an aerial perspective.Inherited retinal diseases (IRDs) cause progressive loss of light-sensitive photoreceptors in the eye and can lead to blindness. Gene-based therapies for IRDs have shown remarkable progress in the past decade, but the vast majority of forms remain untreatable. In the era of personalised medicine, induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) emerge as a valuable system for cell replacement and to model IRD because they retain the specific patient genome and can differentiate into any adult cell type. Three-dimensional (3D) iPSCs-derived retina-like tissue called retinal organoid contains all major retina-specific cell types amacrine, bipolar, horizontal, retinal ganglion cells, Müller glia, as well as rod and cone photoreceptors. Here, we describe the main applications of retinal organoids and provide a comprehensive overview of the state-of-art analysis methods that apply to this model system. Finally, we will discuss the outlook for improvements that would bring the cellular model a step closer to become an established system in research and treatment development of IRDs.Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) was significantly associated with increased overall risk of periodontitis, both chronic, inflammatory pathologies leading to connective tissue breakdown and bone destruction. To identify clinical and/or serological variables routinely evaluated during follow-up of people with RA which are associated with the severity of their periodontal disease. An observational, cross-sectional study was carried out, which included RA patients according to ACR/EULAR 2010 criteria having chronic periodontal disease. RA clinical parameters (disease duration, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, serum C-reactive protein, disease activity (DAS28) and rheumatoid factor, presence of bone erosions and rheumatic nodules) and also corticosteroid therapy were considered. Periodontitis was evaluated according to the American Academy of Periodontology (1999) and chronic periodontitis was assessed by full mouth periapical radiographic examination, periodontal probing depth, clinical attachment level and bleeding index. A total of 110 subjects with RA and chronic periodontitis were included. The female/male relation was 5.1, and no significant differences between genres were found in rheumatic or oral variables. RA patients with longer disease duration, higher disease activity and with rheumatic nodules had significantly greater periodontitis severity. Multivariate analysis confirmed that severe periodontitis was associated with DAS283 4.1 (OR 51.4, CI 95% 9.4-281.5) and the presence of rheumatic nodules (OR 6.4, CI 95% 1.3-31.6). Disease activity and rheumatic nodules were strongly associated with severe periodontitis. Based on these findings it would be desirable to include interdisciplinary management at an early stage of RA to ensure comprehensive treatment of both pathologies.Voluntary apnea showcases extreme human adaptability in trained individuals like professional free divers. We evaluated the psychological and physiological adaptation and the functional cerebral changes using electroencephalography (EEG) and functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) to 6.5 min of dry static apnea performed by a world champion free diver. Compared to resting state at baseline, breath holding was characterized by increased EEG power and functional connectivity in the alpha band, along with decreased delta band connectivity. fMRI connectivity was increased within the default mode network (DMN) and visual areas but decreased in pre- and postcentral cortices. While these changes occurred in regions overlapping with cerebral signatures of several meditation practices, they also display some unique features that suggest an altered somatosensory integration. As suggested by self-reports, these findings could reflect the ability of elite free divers to create a state of sensory dissociation when performing prolonged apnea.
Obesity is a risk factor for idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) and obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA). We aimed to determine the prevalence of OSA in IIH and evaluate the diagnostic performance of OSA screening tools in IIH. Additionally, we evaluated the relationship between weight loss, OSA and IIH over 12months.

A sub-study of a multi-centre, randomised controlled parallel group trial comparing the impact of bariatric surgery vs. community weight management intervention (CWI) on IIH-related outcomes over 12months (IIHWT). OSA was assessed using home-based polygraphy (ApneaLink Air, ResMed) at baseline and 12months. OSA was defined as an apnoea-hypopnoea index (AHI) ≥ 15 or ≥ 5 with excessive daytime sleepiness (Epworth Sleepiness Scale ≥11 ).

Of the 66 women in the IIH WT trial, 46 were included in the OSA sub-study. OSA prevalence was 47% (n = 19). The STOP-BANG had the highest sensitivity (84%) compared to the Epworth Sleepiness Scale (69%) and Berlin (68%) to detect OSA. Bariatric surgery resulted in greater reductions in AHI vs. CWI (median [95%CI] AHI reduction of  - 2.8 [ - 11.9, 0.7], p = 0.017). Over 12months there was a positive association between changes in papilloedema and AHI (r = 0.543, p = 0.045), despite adjustment for changes in the body mass index (R
 = 0.522, p = 0.017).

OSA is common in IIH and the STOP-BANG questionnaire was the most sensitive screening tool. Bariatric surgery improved OSA in patients with IIH. The improvement in AHI was associated with improvement in papilloedema independent of weight loss. Whether OSA treatment has beneficial impact on papilloedema warrants further evaluation.

IIH WT is registered as ISRCTN40152829 and on ClinicalTrials.gov as NCT02124486 (28/04/2014).

All demonstrated ictal spontaneous nystagmus, horizontal in 94.3% (n = 66) and vertical in 5.7% (n = 4), with a mean slow-phase velocity (SPV) of 42.8 ± 31.1°/s (range 5.3-160.1). Direction reversal of spontaneous horizontal nystagmus was captured in 58.6%, within the same episode in 34.3%, and over different days in 24.3%. In 18.6%, we observed ipsiversive then contraversive nystagmus, and in 12.9% contraversive to ipsiversive direction reversal. Ictal nystagmus SPV (42.8 ± 31.1°/s) was significantly faster than interictal (1.4 ± 3.1°/s, p  25%, we correctly separated a diagnosis MD from Vestibular Migraine with a sensitivity and specificity of 95.7% and 85.1% (CI 0.89-0.97).
A quantitative trait locus GW10 is located on Chromosome 10 by map-based cloning, which encodes a P450 Subfamily protein. The GW10 regulates grain size and grain number in rice involved in the BR pathway. Grain size and grain number play extremely important roles in rice grain yield. Here, we identify GW10, which encodes a P450 subfamily protein and controls grain size and grain number by using Lemont (tropical japonica) as donor parent and HJX74 (indica) as recipient parent. The GW10 locus was mapped into a 14.6kb region in HJX74 genomic on the long arm of chromosome 10. Lower expression of the gw10 in panicle is contributed to the shorter and narrower rice grain, and the increased number of grains per panicle. In contrast, overexpression of GW10 is contributed to longer and wider rice grain. Furthermore, the higher expression levels of some of the brassinosteroid (BR) biosynthesis and response genes are associated with the NIL-GW10. The sensitivity of the leaf angle to exogenous BR in NIL-GW10 is lower than that in NIL-gw10 and in the KO-GW10, which implied that the GW10 should involve in the brassinosteroid-mediated regulation of rice grain size and grain number.
