Results and conclusions. Applicability of the methodology presented will help comprehend the severity of risk corresponding to each error at different levels, and the ranking mechanism thus developed in this work aids to prioritize the action to minimize the likelihood of errors.Using a cobot could relieve workers of strenuous and repetitive tasks while preserving their expertise. To understand the consequences of using a cobot on the occurrence of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), within a theoretical framework based on activity-centred ergonomics, an example cobot used in grinding activities in a real work situation is studied. This article analyses the evolution of the biomechanical dimension of the professional gestures of grinders when using the cobot. Effort linked to tool carrying and the vibrations perceived were reduced. Repetitiveness decreased but workers did not accomplish the entirety of their task. The work postures did improve for different joints but not for all, which shows the advantage of varying the contexts of using a cobot and taking into account workers' strategy diversity. To investigate other explanatory elements of the effects on MSDs, these results must be linked to the evolution of the other dimensions of professional gestures.Dissociation is a process that often occurs as a sequela of psychological trauma, and it is interrelated with psychological and behavioral problems. In the at-risk adolescent population, dissociation is often underdiagnosed and undertreated. Having reliable measures to assess this phenomenon can help in identifying adolescents at-risk and improve treatment outcomes. This study assessed the psychometric properties of the Adolescent Dissociative Experiences Scale (A-DES) with a sample of 402 Portuguese adolescents recruited from three at-risk populations. Participants completed self-report measures of trauma exposure, posttraumatic symptoms, psychological and behavioral problems, and the A-DES. A subset of the sample also completed test-retest measures. Confirmatory factor analyses revealed a best-fitting 3-factor model. Analyses revealed good internal consistencies and good agreement test-retest reliability for the scale overall and the factor-based sub-scales. Construct and predictive validity was supported with results showing that A-DES discriminates between youth reporting high versus low levels of cumulative trauma exposure and youth who meet or do not meet criteria for a probable PTSD diagnosis. Study findings replicate prior research supporting a 3-factor model of dissociation and the usefulness of A-DES to identify adolescents with dissociative symptoms. Clinical and research implications are discussed.MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play a critical role in the occurrence and progression of colorectal cancer. Our study aims to explore the role of miR-1306-5p in cell malignant phenotypes of colorectal cancer cells. RT-qPCR was performed to assess the expression of miR-1306-5p in colorectal cancer samples and cell lines. The effects of miR-1306-5p on cell proliferation, migration, and invasion were evaluated through the CCK-8 assay, wound healing assay, and transwell invasion assay, respectively. Apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry. Luciferase reporter assay was used to predict the target gene of miR-1306-5p. Western blot was used to detect the expression levels of signal pathway molecules and target proteins. We found that miR-1306-5p was low-expressed in colorectal cancer tissues and cell lines, and its expression was also associated with colorectal cancer development and prognosis. MiR-1306-5p overexpression led to a decrease in colorectal cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, while promoting apoptosis. Moreover, it was discovered that SLCO2A1 was a target of miR-1306-5p. selleck chemical By targeting SLCO2A1, overexpression of miR-1306-5p could inhibit the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway. Overexpression of miR-1306-5p inhibited the colorectal cancer cell malignant phenotypes via regulating PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway regulation by targeting SLCO2A1. Therefore, miR-1306-5p can be a prospective therapeutic target for treating colorectal cancer.Agricultural residues are constantly increasing with increased farming processes, and improper disposal is detrimental to the environment. Majority of these waste residues are rich in lignocellulose, which makes them suitable substrate for bacterial fermentation in the production of value-added products. In this study, bacterial cellulose (BC), a purer and better form of cellulose, was produced by two Komagataeibacter sp. isolated from rotten banana and kombucha drink using corncob (CC) and sugarcane bagasse (SCB) enzymatic hydrolyzate, under different fermentation conditions, that is, static, continuous, and intermittent agitation. The physicochemical and mechanical properties of the BC films were then investigated by Fourier Transformed Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Thermogravimetry analysis, Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM), and Dynamic mechanical analysis. Agitation gave a higher BC yield, with Komagataeibacter sp. CCUG73629 producing BC from CC with a dry weight of 1.6 g/L and 1.4 g/L under continuous and intermittent agitation, respectively, compared with that of 0.9 g/L in HS medium. While BC yield of dry weight up to 1.2 g/L was obtained from SCB by Komagataeibacter sp. CCUG73630 under continuous agitation compared to that of 0.3 g/L in HS medium. FTIR analysis showed BC bands associated with cellulose I, with high thermal stability. The FE-SEM analysis showed that BC fibers were highly ordered and densely packed. Although the BC produced by both strains showed similar physicochemical and morphological properties, the BC produced by the Komagataeibacter sp. CCUG73630 in CC under intermittent agitation had the best modulus of elasticity, 10.8 GPa and tensile strength, 70.9 MPa.
To explore the microbial etiology of urethritis in Vietnamese men and the association with patients' characteristics, especially their sexual behaviors.

This study was conducted on 349 men who presented with symptomatic urethritis and evidence of STIs (determined by multiplex PCR tests) at the Department of Andrology and Sexual Medicine-Hanoi Medical University Hospital. All information regarding medical history, sexual activities, and symptoms of urethritis was documented.

Our findings suggested the important role of other microorganisms, especially

This study intends to explore the regulatory role of magnesium transporter 1 (MAGT1) in radiotherapy resistance of glioma through modulating ERK and programmed death-1-ligand 1 (PD-L1). Our bioinformatics analysis identified differentially expressed MAGT1 in glioma, expression of which was subsequently determined in cohort data of TCGA database and microarray dataset as well as glioma cell lines. Artificial modulation of MAGT1, ERK, and PD-L1 expression was performed to examine their effects on glioma cell proliferation and radioresistance, as reflected by MTT and colony formation assays under irradiation. Mouse glioma cells with manipulated MAGT1 and ERK inhibitors were further injected into mice to assess the in vivo tumor formation ability of glioma cells. It was noted that MAGT1 expression was highly expressed in glioma tissues of TCGA data and microarray dataset, which was then validated in glioma cell lines. Ectopic expression of MAGT1 was revealed to promote the proliferation and radioresistance of glioma cells, which was attributed to the MAGT1-mediated activation of the ERK/MAPK signaling pathway. It was illuminated that MAGT1 stimulated PD-L1 expression through the ERK/MAPK pathway and thus facilitated glioma cell growth. Additionally, MAGT1 overexpression accelerated the in vivo tumor formation of glioma cells, while the ERK inhibitor negated its effect. In conclusion, MAGT1 enhances the growth and radioresistance of glioma cells through the ERK/MAPK signaling pathway-mediated upregulation of PD-L1 expression.Praeruptorin A (PA) is a natural coumarin compound from the roots of Radix Peucedani and is commonly used in the treatment of certain respiratory diseases and hypertension. Although previous studies identified relaxant effects of PA on tracheal and arterial preparations, little is known about its vasodilative effects and underlying mechanisms. Here, an organ bath system and tension recording methods were used to prepare and analyze isolated rat thoracic aorta artery rings. Aorta artery rings were pre-contracted with phenylephrine and then incubated with PA, and the possible mechanism of relaxation was investigated by adding inhibitors of nitric oxide synthase (NG-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester, L-NAME), endothelial nitric oxide synthase (L-NG-nitroarginine, L-NNA), cyclooxygenase (indomethacin), guanylyl cyclase (1 H-[1,2,4]oxadiazolo [4,3-a]quinoxalin-1-one, ODQ), and KCa channels (tetraethylammonium, TEA). Our study showed that PA-induced vasodilation was blocked by L-NAME, L-NNA, and ODQ, while CaCl2-induced vasoconstriction was countered by PA. Thus, PA may exert a vasodilatory effect by influencing the amounts of endothelium-derived relaxing factors through endothelial-dependent NO-cGMP and prostacyclin pathways (such as NO and prostacyclin 2). In the rat thoracic aorta, PA reduces vasoconstriction by inhibiting Ca2+ inflow.High concentrations of nutrients are observed in the effluent of different wastewater treatment plants, while additional costs of post-treatment systems and low-value sludge are the main reasons for releasing such effluents. The present study aims to introduce an increased procedure for simultaneous nutrient recovery and biomass production using an algae-based post-treatment technique. The procedure has been utilized by two well-known strains (Scenedesmus dimorphus and Chlorella vulgaris) cultivated in different N/P ratios (16, 62, and 108) and trace metals (0, 50%, and 100%) in a synthetic meat processing wastewater as a model to investigate effects of the factors on microalgal cultivation and nutrient removal. Pareto statistical analysis and Multi Response Surface methodology were applied to determine the priority of factors and their optimum values, respectively. The unbalanced N/P ratio and lack of trace metals were introduced as two main reasons for the significant decrease of about 60% and 120% in nutrient removal and biomass production.
