Regarding head circumference and height, this study found that the MCT oil massage group did not have better results than the other two groups. No adverse events were noted in the massage groups.

The results indicate that preterm infant daily massage with MCT oil is an effective intervention for weight gain that should be recognized as part of low-birth-weight infant developmental care.

Primary spontaneous pneumothorax (PSP) commonly occurs in adolescents. PSP symptoms can mimic cardiac event. We aimed to examine electrocardiography (ECG) changes that accompanied PSP in relation to side and size of pneumothorax.A retrospectively reviewed 57 adolescents presented with PSP and underwent a cardiac evaluation.Overall, 49 patients (86%) were male, median age of 16 years. Of these, 1 patient had a known mitral valve prolapse. In 56 patients the initial episode of PSP was unilateral (16 left sided and 40 right sided), and 1 was bilateral. The main initial symptom was chest pain or dyspnea and chest pain 66.6% and 33.3% respectively. Small pneumothorax was right and left sided in 1and 8 patients respectively, medium right (n = 8) medium left (n = 22), large right (n = 7) and large left (n = 10). One additional patient had medium bilateral pneumothorax. ECG findings were abnormal in 12 patients (21%) and included ST elevation in 5 patients, inverted T wave in 2 patients, incomplete right bundle braented with chest pain, dyspnea and ECG changes.
No well-designed and systematic evaluation of the efficacy and safety of leonurus japonicus injection (LJI) in combination with carboprost tromethamine has been found. Therefore, we undertook a meta-analysis to assess the efficacy and safety of carboprost tromethamine combined with LJI for the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage in high-risk pregnant women to provide new evidence-based medical evidence for clinical treatment.

This systematic review and meta-analysis would be performed according to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. The following databases including EMBASE, MEDICINE, Wanfang, China National Knowledge Infrastructure database, and Cochrane central controlled trial registries were searched by 2 reviewers from inception to July 2021. Mesh and keyword search terms were "motherwort," "Yimucao," "leonurus japonicas," "carboprost tromethamine," and "postpartum hemorrhage." Any cohort studies that assessed the efficacy and safety of carboprost tromethamine combined with LJI for the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage would be included. P < .05 was set as the level of significance.

The review would add to the existing literature by showing compelling evidence and improved guidance in clinic settings.

Human endogenous retrovirus-H long terminal repeat-associating protein 2 (HHLA2), a newly discovered member of the B7 family, is overexpressed in numerous tumors. However, the prognostic impact of HHLA2 in human cancers remains controversial. Thus, we performed this meta-analysis to explore the prognostic value of HHLA2 in Chinese patients with solid tumors.

PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, and WanFang databases were systematically searched for eligible studies that evaluated the impact of HHLA2 on overall survival (OS) in patients with cancer. Hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were combined to evaluate the association between HHLA2 expression and OS in solid tumors. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% CIs were pooled to assess the correlation between HHLA2 expression and clinicopathological characteristics in solid tumors.

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is one of the most common complications of pregnancy and associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes. The aim of this study was to investigate the changes of lipoprotein-associated phospholipaseA2 (Lp-PLA2) level and its correlation with biochemical indexes in patients with GDM.This observational cross-sectional study was performed among 52 GDM and 48 healthy pregnant women. Automatic biochemical analyzer was employed to test the biochemical indexes, including fasting plasma glucose (FPG), Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). The lipoprotein-associated phospholipaseA2 (Lp-PLA2) level was evaluated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) was calculated.The levels of FPG, HbA1c, HOMA-IR, TG, TC and LDL-C were significantly increased while high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) level wated with HOMA-IR, TC, and LDL-C.Our results confirmed the association of Lp-PLA2 with GDM. This broadens our knowledge on the pathophysiology of GDM and provides insights into the development of new targets for the prevention and treatment of GDM.
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has impacted our clinical practice. Many gastroenterologists have changed their attitudes toward various gastroenterological clinical settings. The aim of the present study is to explore the gastroenterologist's attitudes in several clinical settings encountered in the clinical practice.An online based survey was completed by 101 of 250 Israeli gastroenterologists (40.5%).Most of the participants were males (76.2%), and most of them were in the age range of 40 to 50 (37.6%). For all questionnaire components, the 2 most common chosen options were "I perform endoscopy with N95 mask, gloves and gown protection in a standard endoscopy room without preendoscopy severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) testing" and "Tend to postpone endoscopy until SARS-CoV-2 test is performed because of fear from being infected, or virus spreading in the endoscopy suite." Notably, 12 (11.9%) gastroenterologists were infected by Coronavirus disease 2019 during their2 testing" in the nonelective settings as compared to 54.2% for the elective settings, (P  less then  .00001), whereas 32.9% of the responders chose the attitude of "Tend to postpone endoscopy until SARS-COV-2 test is performed because of fear from being infected, or virus spreading in the endoscopy suite" in the elective settings (P  less then  .00001).Gastroenterologists' attitude in various gastroenterological settings was based on the clinical indication. Further studies are needed to assess the long-term consequences of the different attitudes.
Until now, target-controlled infusion of remifentanil with midazolam in percutaneous transluminal balloon angioplasty for dysfunctional hemodialysis fistulas has not been described. Here, we investigate 2 effect-site concentrations of remifentanil with intermittent bolus midazolam for percutaneous transluminal balloon angioplasty under monitored anesthesia care.

A prospective, randomized controlled trial including patients who received a percutaneous transluminal balloon angioplasty between March 2019 and March 2021 was conducted. Group 1 and Group 2 were, respectively, administered an initial effect-site concentration of remifentanil of 1.0 and 2.0 ng/mL by a target-controlled infusion pump with Minto model. In both groups, maintenance of the effect-site concentration of remifentanil was adjusted upward and downward by 0.5 ng/mL with intermittent bolus midazolam to keep the Observer's Assessment of Alertness/Sedation scale between 2 and 4, mean arterial pressure and heart rate at baseline levels ± 30%, ath Group 2.

Angiosarcoma is a rare, highly aggressive malignant tumor originating from endothelial cells that line the lumen of blood or lymphatic vessels. The molecular mechanisms of scalp and face angiosarcoma still need to be elucidated. This study aimed to investigate the expression of phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN), phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate 3-kinase catalytic subunit alpha (PIK3CA), phosphorylated mitogen-activated kinase-like protein (pMAPK), and tumor protein p53 (TP53) in scalp and face angiosarcoma and to assess tumor tissue apoptosis.The expression and intracellular distribution of PTEN, PIK3CA, pMAPK, and TP53 proteins in 21 specimens of human scalp and face angiosarcoma and 16 specimens of human benign hemangioma were evaluated using immunohistochemistry. Tumor cell apoptosis was assessed by terminal deoxyribonucleotide transferase-mediated dUTP nick end-labeling staining.Significantly lower PTEN but higher PIK3CA, pMAPK, and TP53 immunostaining were detected in the angiosarcoma specimengnancy.
The aim of the study was to analyze the efficacy of posaconazole for the prophylaxis and treatment of invasive fungal diseases (IFDs) in patients with hematological malignancies.In this retrospective observational multi-center study, 762 patients from 25 Chinese hematological centers were enrolled. Inclusion criteria were patients with hematological malignancy or they had undergone hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and received at least 1 dose of posaconazole. The primary endpoints were the observation of breakthrough rates and the clinical efficacy of posaconazole prophylaxis. The secondary endpoint was the efficacy of posaconazole for the treatment of IFDs.Of the 762 enrolled patients, 456 (59.8%) were prescribed posaconazole prophylactically while 243 (31.9%) received posaconazole as an IFD treatment (12 proven, 61 probable, 109 possible, and 61 unclassified IFD cases) for ≥7 days. The overall IFD breakthrough rate (probable cases) for the ≥4 days prophylactic treatment (n = 445) group was 1.6% (95gal prophylaxis, the breakthrough rate was 1.9% and for secondary antifungal prophylaxis 0%. The overall effective IFD remission rate of patients treated for ≥7 days with posaconazole was 56.0% and the effective remission rate of proven/probable/possible IFD cases was 59.3%. The effective remission rate of posaconazole as salvage therapy was 50% (95% CI 32.4%-67.6%) including 75% (CI 19.4%-99.4%) for Aspergillus infections.The present retrospective study confirmed posaconazole as IFD prophylaxis and medication for hematological malignancy patients undergoing various treatments in China.
