None.Among patients with pulmonary embolism (PE), various permutations of normal or abnormal cardiac troponin results and normal or abnormal echocardiographic right ventricular function are encountered in clinical practice. We aimed to explore whether there is a true gradient of risk based on troponin and echocardiographic results. This study included normotensive patients with PE from the PROgnosTic valuE of CT scan in hemodynamically stable patients with acute symptomatic pulmonary embolism (PROTECT) study. Patients were categorized as having -Troponin/-Echo, -Troponin/+Echo, +Troponin/-Echo, and +Troponin/+Echo. The primary outcome was 30-day "complicated course," including death from any cause, hemodynamic collapse, or recurrent PE. Secondary outcomes included individual adverse event rates. Of the 834 patients who had echocardiographic and troponin results, 569 patients (68%) had -Troponin/-Echo, 126 patients (15%) had -Troponin/+Echo, 74 patients (8.9%) had +Troponin/-Echo, and 65 patients (7.8%) had +Troponin/+Echo. The incidence of 30-day complicated course was 4.6% in patients with -Troponin/-Echo, 11.9% in patients with -Troponin/+Echo, 13.5% in patients with +Troponin/-Echo, and 16.9% in patients with +Troponin/+Echo (P for trend less then 0.001). In the subgroup of patients with a high-risk sPESI (i.e., intermediate-risk according to the ESC guidelines) (n = 527), the incidence of 30-day complicated course was 14.9% in patients with -Troponin/+Echo, 18.5% in patients with +Troponin/-Echo, and 17.5% in patients with +Troponin/+Echo (P for trend less then 0.01). In patiens with PE, there seems to be a risk gradient based on troponin and echocardiographic results. This study did not detect a significant risk difference in those with +Troponin/-Echo compared with -Troponin/+Echo.Aim The aim is to study ANXA2 biomarkers for early diagnosis of cervical cancer. Materials & methods The study used bioinformatics analysis and experimental verification of ANXA2 expression in cervical cancer. ResultsANXA2 expression was higher in cancer tissues than in non-cancer tissues (p = 0.002). ANXA2 was expressed in cell membranes of non-cancer tissues, whereas in cancer tissues it was expressed in both the cell membranes and the cytoplasm. Moreover, ANXA2 expression was more pronounced in squamous cell carcinomas. ANXA2 expression decreased overall survival of patients, and the data suggested that protein expression was associated with invasion and migration of tumors. ConclusionANXA2 has high specificity and sensitivity as a detection marker for cervical cancer and can assist in the diagnosis of cervical cancer.
Biceps tenodesis is a common treatment for proximal long head of biceps (LHB) tendon pathology. To maintain biceps strength and contour and minimize cramping, restoration of muscle-length tension and appropriate positioning of the tenodesis is key. Little is known about the biceps musculotendinous junction (MTJ) anatomy, especially in relation to the overlying pectoralis major tendon (PMT), which is a commonly used landmark for tenodesis positioning.

To characterize the in vivo topographic anatomy of the LHB tendon, in particular the MTJ relative to the PMT, using a novel axial proton-density magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sequence.

Descriptive laboratory study.

In total, 45 patients having a shoulder MRI for symptoms unrelated to their biceps tendon or rotator cuff were prospectively recruited. There were 33 men and 12 women, with a mean age of 37 ± 13 years (range, 18-59 years). All patients underwent routine shoulder MRI scans with an additional axial proton density sequence examining the LHB tenlity in the position of the MTJ relative to the PMT, which can be classified into 3 distinct subtypes or zones relative to the superior border of the PMT. Understanding this potentially allows for accurate and anatomic placement of the biceps tendon for tenodesis.

To our knowledge, this is the first study to radiologically analyze the in vivo topographic anatomy of the LHB tendon and its MTJ. It was conducted by collecting the clinical characteristics of patients and the Epworth Sleepiness Scale and Sleep Quality Scale. T-test, a non-parametric test (Mann-Whitney) or chi-square test, and Pearson analysis were used to analyze the relationship between MoCA score and patient clinical characteristics, sleep variables, and SAQLI score.Results The SAQLI score of the MCI group significantly decreased. Patients in the MCI group had a higher WHR, higher alcohol intake, and a history of hypertension were firmly related to the poor SAQLI (P less then 0.05). Consequently, probabilistic descriptions in terms of empirical design rules are used and designing reliable structures requires the use of conservative strength estimates. We introduce a nonlinear description where finite-amplitude perturbations trigger buckling. Drawing from the analogy between imperfect shells which buckle and imperfect pipe flow which becomes turbulent, we experimentally show that lateral probing of cylindrical shells reveals their strength nondestructively. A new ridge-tracking method is applied to commercial cylinders with a hole showing that when the location where buckling nucleates is known we can accurately predict the buckling load of each individual shell, within ±5%. Our study provides a new promising framework to understand shell buckling, and more generally, imperfection-sensitive instabilities.A search for Higgs boson decays into a Z boson and a light resonance in two-lepton plus jet events is performed, using a pp collision dataset with an integrated luminosity of 139  fb^-1 collected at sqrt[s]=13  TeV by the ATLAS experiment at the CERN LHC. While the microscopic many-body Hamiltonian of a closed system remains Hermitian, the one-body quasiparticle Hamiltonian is non-Hermitian due to the finite quasiparticle lifetime. We use such a non-Hermitian description in the heavy-fermion two-dimensional systems with the momentum-dependent hybridization to reveal a fascinating phenomenon which can be directly probed by the spectroscopic measurements, the bulk "Fermi arcs." Starting from a simple two-band model, we first combine the phenomenological approach with the perturbation theory to show the existence of the Fermi arcs and reveal their connection to the topological exceptional points, special points in the Brillouin zone where the Hamiltonian is nondiagonalizable. The appearance of such points necessarily requires that the electrons belonging to different orbitals have different lifetimes. This requirement is naturally satisfied in the heavy-fermion systems, where the itinerant c electrons experience much weaker interaction than the localized f electrons. We then utilize the dynamical mean field theory to numerically calculate the spectral function and confirm our findings. We show that the concept of the exceptional points in the non-Hermitian quasiparticle Hamiltonians is a powerful tool for predicting new phenomena in strongly correlated electron systems.Graphene interfacing hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) forms lateral moiré superlattices that host a wide range of new physical effects such as the creation of secondary Dirac points and band gap opening. A delicate control of the twist angle between the two layers is required as the effects weaken or disappear at large twist angles. In this Letter, we show that these effects can be reinstated in large-angle (∼1.8°) graphene/h-BN moiré superlattices under high pressures. A graphene/h-BN moiré superlattice microdevice is fabricated directly on the diamond culet of a diamond anvil cell, where pressure up to 8.3 GPa is applied. The band gap at the primary Dirac point is opened by 40-60 meV, and fingerprints of the second Dirac band gap are also observed in the valence band. Theoretical calculations confirm the band engineering with pressure in large-angle graphene/h-BN bilayers.Combining spatially resolved x-ray Laue diffraction with atomic-scale simulations, we observe how ion-irradiated tungsten undergoes a series of nonlinear structural transformations with increasing radiation exposure. Nanoscale defect-induced deformations accumulating above 0.02 displacements per atom (dpa) lead to highly fluctuating strains at ∼0.1  dpa, collapsing into a driven quasisteady structural state above ∼1  dpa. The driven asymptotic state is characterized by finely dispersed vacancy defects coexisting with an extended dislocation network and exhibits positive volumetric swelling, due to the creation of new crystallographic planes through self-interstitial coalescence, but negative lattice strain.
