Pregnant African women are one of the most vulnerable population groups in a region with an already burdened healthcare system. Currently, there isn't ample research in the literature that explores vaccine hesitancy in this subpopulation and the impact of social media misinformation surrounding it. The aim of this paper is to highlight the implications of this 'infodemic' on the pregnant African population and suggest key recommendations for improved healthcare strategies.
Human adipose-derived stem cells (hADSCs) have gained attention lately because of their ease of harvesting and ability to be substantially multiplied in laboratory cultures. Stem cells are usually cultured under atmospheric conditions; however, preconditioning stem cells under hypoxic conditions seems beneficial.

This systematic review aims to investigate the effect of hypoxia preconditioning and its impact on the proliferation and angiogenic capacity of the hADSCs.

We performed a systematic review by searching PubMed, Scopus, Embase, and Google Scholar databases from all years through March 22, 2021, following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. Medical Subject Headings terms "adipose-derived stem cell," "Hypoxia," "cell proliferation," and "angiogenesis" guided our search. Only articles written in English using experimental models comparing a preconditioned group against a control group of hADSCs with data on proliferation and angiogenic capacity were includethe way for better outcomes and results for patients.
Advanced epithelial ovarian cancer (OC) has a high disease manifestation with difficult-to-manage symptoms that limit the patients' functionality. Abdominal pain, persistent back pain, and neuropathic pain are among the common discomforts associated with OC and its treatment. Our study aims to determine pain scores in advanced OC patients undergoing surgery and chemotherapeutic treatment with carboplatin and paclitaxel.

One hundred and ten patients with advanced epithelial OC were enrolled and treated with surgery and an adjuvant/neoadjuvant chemotherapy regimen of carboplatin-paclitaxel for six cycles (triweekly). Pain intensity was analyzed using the validated numerical rating scale for resting, movement, sleep interference-associated pain, and neuropathic pain scores were evaluated using the neuropathic pain symptom inventory scale. Pain was correlated with Qol according to Fact-O questionnaires. Chemo-response was evaluated using the CA125 blood biomarker and CT scan of the abdomen and thorax. Data wement policies.
Peripheral neuropathy is a common adverse effect of platinum and taxane chemotherapeutic drugs that persists throughout cancer treatment and in survivorship. This research provides evidence that chemotherapy-associated neuropathy affects Qol of patients and it will be helpful to improve pain and palliative care management policies.
Interest in decelerating or reversing reproductive aging is unlikely to diminish in the era of molecular genetics. For the adult human ovary, meeting the challenge of menopause without synthetic hormone replacement has now moved beyond proof-of-concept, as shown from treatments validated with standard metabolic markers and ovarian reserve estimates. However, without proper recruitment and differentiation of oocytes, such outcomes would be impossible. The full inventory of factors required for such folliculogenesis is not yet final, but growth differentiation factor-9, transforming growth factor-beta1, vascular endothelial growth factor, and insulin-like growth factor-1 are consistently identified as relevant. Platelet-derived growth factor and, more recently, bone morphogenic proteins are also central to cell migration, vascular support, and general ovarian function. Interestingly, when cells secreting these moieties are surgically grafted near undifferentiated oocyte stem precursors, the latency phase transitions to delineate follicle development and restoration of reproductive capacity. Direct intraovarian injection of condensed platelet-derived cytokines (a platelet-rich plasma/PRP product) likewise enables return of menses, ovulation, and term live birth.

This report extends our previous work on the proangiogenic effects of intraovarian PRP by connecting clinical responses to specific cytokine-dependent gene activation pathways likely needed to induce oocyte differentiation.

Ovarian rejuvenation is a promising new application for platelet-rich plasma and/or condensed plasma cytokines of platelet origin, which are injected into older ovarian tissue.

Developing a scale to address the breastfeeding benefits and practices among antenatal and postnatal mothers is important as it helps in evaluating the change in the behavior, attitude, and practice with appropriate health education.

This study was done to develop and validate a scale to assess the knowledge about the breastfeeding benefits and practices in Tamil language among antenatal and postnatal mothers belonging to rural areas of Chengalpattu, South India.

We developed a scale to assess the knowledge about the benefits and practices of breastfeeding through literature review and expert opinion. Final version was administered among 377 antenatal and postnatal mothers in selected villages of rural Chengalpattu, South India. Construct validation was evaluated through principal component analysis (PCA). Confirmatory factor analysis was performed to check the goodness-of-fit of results. Internal consistency was evaluated through the Cronbach's alpha co-efficient.

A total of 11 questions were finaliztal and postnatal mothers.
This questionnaire allows for the objective monitoring of effectiveness of educational activities and also help in comparing the efficiency of various educational models targeting the antenatal and postnatal mothers.
With the second wave of COVID-19, there has been a substantial rise in opportunistic infections like mucormycosis. Mucormycosis is a fatal fungal infection and understanding the associated risk factors and their management plays a key role to reduce mortality and morbidity caused due to such infections. This systematic review was conducted to assess the risk factors, clinical characteristics and to understand the pathogenesis of COVID-19-associated mucormycosis (CAM) affecting the head-and-neck region.

The PubMed database was searched with the keywords; ((Mucormycosis) OR (invasive fungal sinusitis)) AND (COVID-19) and the PRISMA chart was prepared for the selection of the reports based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria.

A total of 261 cases of CAM affecting the head-and-neck region were analyzed in this systematic review. Most of the patients presented with rhino-orbital/rhino-orbito-cerebral form of mucormycosis (rhino-orbital mucormycosis/rhino-orbital-cerebral mucormycosis). Pulmonary mucormyck factors in patients affected by CAM should be recognized and closely monitored in post-COVID-19 patients. A multidisciplinary team must be in place to reduce the mortality and morbidity in such patients. In neural tissue engineering (NTE), topographical, electrical, mechanical and/or biochemical stimulations are established methods to regulate neural cell activities in in vitro cultures. Aerosol Jet® Printing is here proposed as enabling technology to develop NTE integrated devices for electrically combined stimulations. The printability of a poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT PSS) commercial ink onto a reference substrate was firstly investigated and the effect of the process parameters on the quality of printed lines was analyzed. The study was then extended for printing thick electrodes and interconnects; the print strategy was finally transferred to a silicon-based wafer with patterned microchannels of proven cellular adhesion and topographical guidance. The results showed values of electrical resistance equal to ~16 Ω for printed electrodes which are ~33 μm thick and ~2 mm wide. The electrical impedance of the final circuit in saline solution was detected in the range of 1 - 2 kΩ at 1 kHz, which is in line with the expectations for bioelectronic neural interfaces. However, cells viability assays on the commercial PEDOT PSS ink demonstrated a dose dependent cytotoxic behavior. The potential cause is associated with the presence of a cytotoxic co-solvent in the ink's formulation, which is released in the medium culture, even after a post-sintering process on the printed electrodes. This work is a first step to develop innovative in vitro NTE devices via a printed electronic approach. It also sheds new insights the transfer of AJ® print strategies across different substrates, and biocompatibility of commercial PEDOT PSS inks.Additive manufacturing is gaining importance thanks to its multiple advantages. Stereolithography (SLA) shows the highest accuracy and the lowest anisotropy, which has facilitated the emergence of new applications as dentistry or tissue engineering. However, the availability of commercial photopolymers is still limited, and there is an increasing interest in developing resins with properties adapted for these new applications. The addition of graphene-based nanomaterials (GBN) may provide interesting advantages, such as improved mechanical properties and bioactivity. However, there is a lack of knowledge regarding the effect of GBNs on the polymerization reaction. A photopolymerizable acrylic resin has been used, and the effect of the addition of 0.1wt% of graphene (G); graphene oxide (GO) and graphite nanoplatelets (GoxNP) on printability and polymerization have been investigated. It was observed that the effect depended on GBN type, functionalization and structure (e.g., number of layers, size, and morphology) due to differences in the extent of dispersion and light absorbance. The obtained results showed that GO and GoxNP did not significantly affect the printability and quality of the final structure, whilst the application of G exhibited a negative effect in terms of printability due to a reduction in the polymerization degree. GO and GoxNP-loaded resins showed a great potential to be used for manufacturing structures by SLA.The morphologies and structures of the scaffold have a significant influence on their mechanical and biological properties. Apoptosis inhibitor In this work, different types of porous structures Triply periodic minimal surface-Schwarz primitive (P), body-centered cubic, and cubic pore-shaped (CPS) hydroxyapatite scaffolds with ~70% porosity were fabricated through digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing technology. The compressive properties and in vitro cell evaluations such as cell proliferation and attachment morphology of these scaffolds were systematically compared. The results showed that the CPS scaffolds exhibited the highest compressive strength (~22.5 MPa) and modulus (~400 MPa). In addition, the CPS scaffolds also performed the most active cell metabolisms as compared to other two structures, which may account for the larger pore size and smaller curvature of the substrate. This study provides a general guidance for the fabrication and selection of porous bone scaffolds processed by DLP 3D printing.
