Since 2000s, several studies have been reporting an increase of alkaline species in atmospheric deposition worldwide. This study aims to evaluate and give a better understanding about atmospheric deposition chemistry collected in Lavras, a Brazilian city with rural background. Bulk atmospheric deposition samples were collected from March 2018 to February 2019 and major ionic species were quantified. The pH values ranged from 5.52 to 8.29, with an average of 5.92 and most deposition samples (~ 94%) were alkaline (pH > 5.60). For the whole sampling campaign, the ions profile in volume weighted mean (VWM) was described as follows Ca2+ (35.02) > NH4+ (11.26) > Cl- (11.19) > Mg2+ (9.04) > NO3- (8.57) > Na+ (5.65) > K+ (2.61) > SO42- (2.43) > H+ (0.94) μmol L-1. We identified Ca2+ and NH4+ as the most predominant species accounting for 53% of the total ionic species distribution. In addition, all samples showed neutralization factor (NF) index greater than 1, with mean value of 6.4. Conocarpus lancifolius Engl. (Combretaceae) was investigated as a potential phytoremediator of soils contaminated with HM containing crude oil. This study assessed the potential of C. lancifolius (CL), a locally available plant species in Kuwait, for resolving local issues of the HM-contaminated soils. The absorption, accumulation, and distribution of three toxic HMs (Cd, Ni, and Pb) and essential metals (Fe, Mg, and metalloid Se) were examined, and their role in plant toxicity and tolerance was evaluated. Conocarpus lancifolius plants were exposed to two different concentrations of single and mixed HMs for 30 days. The accumulation of HMs was determined in the roots, leaves, stems, and the soil using ICP/MS. Biomass, soil pH, proline and protein content, and bioaccumulation, extraction, and translocation factors were measured. The bioaccumulation, extraction, and transcription factors were all >1, indicating CC is a hyperaccumulator of HM. The HM accumulation in CL was concentration-dependent and depended on whether the plants were exposed to individual or mixed HMs. The C.C leaves, stems, and roots showed a significant accumulation of antioxidant constituents, such as proline, protein, Fe, Mg, and Se. There was an insignificant increase in the soil pH, and a decrease in plant biomass and a significant increase in protein, and osmoprotective-proline as a result of the interaction of mixed heavy metals that are more toxic than single heavy metals. This study indicates that C. lancifolius is a good candidate for phytoremediation of multiple HM-contaminated soils. Further studies to establish the phyto-physiological effect of multiple heavy metals are warranted.Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) has been considered a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases by inducing an oxidative and inflammatory phenotype. Besides, the reduction of 17β-estradiol (E2) levels during menopause is a natural risk for cardiovascular outcomes. Here we present older adult performance on 421 general knowledge questions across a range of difficulty levels. Cued recall data, including data on the phenomenology of retrieval failures, and multiple-choice data are available. These norms will allow researchers to identify questions that are not likely to be known by older adult participants to examine learning or acquisition processes, or to select questions within a range of marginal accessibility, for example. Overall, SimplePhy is a simple, free, open-source tool (code can be found here https//gitlab.com/malago/simplephy ) aimed to help labs conduct their experiments online.An analytical method was developed by using LC-ESI(-ve)-MS/MS to investigate the residue dynamics of 2,4-D (2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid) in green tea leaves, processed tea, tea liquor, and tea-cropped soil at Singhiajhora Tea Estate and Putinbari Tea Estate at Terai Region, Darjeeling District, West Bengal, India. In this method, an acidified methanol was used for extraction and subsequent clean-up was done by HLB (hydrophilic lipophilic balanced) cartridges. The method was validated as per SANTE guideline (SANTE/11813/2017). The limit of quantification (LOQ) of 2,4-D was 0.05 mgkg-1 and average % recoveries were in the range from 88.05 to 113.28 with relative standard deviation (RSD) 3.46 to 6.43. The dissipation of 2,4-D followed the 1st-order reaction kinetics with a half-life (T1/2) of 1.51-1.61 day at the recommended dose and 2.50-2.72 day for doubled recommended dose in tea for both locations. This method can be applied successfully for the determination of 2,4 D residues in/on tea matrix and subsequent studies on safety evaluation showed that the use of 2,4-D in tea is safe.The petrochemical industry is responsible for many accidental releases of pollutants in soil such as hydrocarbons and toxic metals. This co-contamination is responsible for a delay in the degradation of the organic pollution. Many successful technologies to remove these metals apply extracellular polymeric substances (EPS). In this study, we tested the application of an EPS from a Paenibacillus sp. link3 to aid the bioremediation of soils contaminated with crude oil and nickel. We conducted a microcosm experiment to soils containing combinations of oil, nickel, and EPS. The final concentration of oil was evaluated with an infrared spectrometer. Also, we sequenced the metagenomes of the samples in an ion torrent sequencer. Early diagnosis and prevention are hampered by the lack of informative biomarkers. The aim of this study was to perform a meta-analysis of the miRNA expression profiling studies in HF to identify novel candidate biomarkers or/and therapeutic targets. A comprehensive literature search of the PubMed for miRNA expression studies related to HF was carried out. The vote counting and robust rank aggregation meta-analysis methods were used to identify significant meta-signatures of HF-miRs. The targets of HF-miRs were identified, and network construction and gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) were performed to identify the genes and cognitive pathways most affected by the dysregulation of the miRNAs. The literature search identified forty-five miRNA expression studies related to CHF. Shared meta-signature was identified for 3 up-regulated (miR-21, miR-214, and miR-27b) and 13 down-regulated (miR-133a, miR-29a, miR-29b, miR-451, miR-185, miR-133b, miR-30e, miR-30b, miR-1, miR-150, miR-486, miR-149, and miR-16-5p) miRNAs.
