The study population included 345 dentists; 227 (65.8%) were females and 118 (34.2%) were males. 54 (15.7%) reported that they prescribed unnecessary antibiotics more than once per week, 47 (13.6%) once per month, 135 (39.1%) rarely, and 109 (31.6%) never prescribed unnecessary antibiotics. 117 (33.9%) reported being pressured by patients to prescribe unnecessary antibiotics more than once per week. 110 (31.9%) reported being pressured by patients to do so at least once per month. There was a statistical difference between the two genders (
< 0.001) in reporting that patients pressured them to prescribe antibiotics when antibiotics were not necessary for treatment or prophylactic purposes and in prescribing unnecessary antibiotics sometimes if requested by a patient (
=0.008). In addition, there was a statistical difference in dentists' confidence in their knowledge and practice in the area of antibiotic prescribing (
< 0.001).

Mechanistic studies further showed that homocysteine (Hcy) exacerbated AngII-stimulated expression of Calcineurin and nuclear factor of activated T cells (NFAT), which could be attenuated by folic acid both in mice and in neonatal rat cardiomyocytes. Moreover, treatment with cyclosporin A, an inhibitor of Calcineurin, blocked Hcy-stimulated Calcineurin-NFAT signaling and hypertrophy in neonatal rat cardiomyocytes. Hence, this work provides a novel approach for evaluating TME cell infiltration in colon cancer and guiding more effective immunotherapy strategies.Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC), the major histopathological subtype of renal cancer, is sensitive to ferroptosis. MIT-domain containing protein 1 (MITD1) has been reported to play an important role in hepatocellular carcinoma, while it remains unclear whether MITD1 is involved in ccRCC. Based on available data in The Cancer Genome Atlas, we found the expression of MITD1 increased through bioinformatics analysis and high MITD1 expression suggests a poor prognosis. And we validated that MITD1 expressed significantly in ccRCC through Western blot analysis. Then, we further compared the proliferation and migration capacity of ccRCC before and after MITD1 knockdown and further explored the effect of MITD1 knockdown on ferroptosis. The results indicated that MITD1 knockdown inhibited ccRCC cell proliferation and migration and induced ferroptosis in ccRCC. Furthermore, we found and analyzed the key molecule TAZ which was involved in ferroptosis caused by MITD1 knockdown. Subsequent overexpression experiments demonstrated that MITD1 knockdown induced ferroptosis and suppressed tumor growth and migration through the TAZ/SLC7A11 pathway. In summary, our study revealed the role of MITD1 in the ferroptosis of ccRCC and provided a novel target for ccRCC treatment.
Patients with active cancer have an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) among cancer patients receiving endocrine therapy. However, little research has explored the distribution of CVD comorbidities and cardiovascular risk factors (CVRFs) among postmenopause women with breast, endometrial, or ovarian cancer prior to active treatment with endocrine therapy. We aimed to explore the distribution of CVD comorbidities and associated CVRF in patients suffering from breast, endometrial, or ovarian cancer prior to the use of endocrine therapy and to assess whether there was compliance with existing hospital recommendations, particularly on the use of lipid-lowering agents to prevent the development of CVD comorbidities in postmenopause women.

A total of 10,731 postmenopause women with primary breast, endometrial, or ovarian cancer were enrolled between 30th May 2008 and 31st July 2021 from an electronic health record database at the first affiliated hospital of Dalian Medical University.
