20 Resources That Will Make You Better At Slot Rankings
Slot Rankings - How Wide Receivers Score More Touchdowns in the Slot

Slots are the same for every spin. There aren't slot sound effects that can assist you in beating them. However, there are a few things you can keep in mind to maximize your winning potential.

Find out the RTP of a game first. This number tells you how many players could win on average over the course of time.

Slot Efficiency

The goal of slot efficiency is to maximize the amount of changes that can be made without breaking a predefined set of constraints. These constraints may include, for instance the minimal operational delay (usually expressed as scheduling delays) fairness, equity access, competition, environmental goals and many more. The slot allocation process is a complicated one and optimizing it to reach the desired performance metrics requires careful analysis of all factors that are in play.

The process begins by identifying the types of requests to prioritize based on historical precedents. Once the type has been identified and the slot allocation model is developed, it is then used to minimize the delay criteria. However, there are many research gaps have been identified in the optimization of slot scheduling models, particularly when balancing efficiency and fairness.

ABC (assigned according to velocity) is a popular strategy for prioritizing slot assignment. This method collects the item's information and then determines an appropriate grouping based on the velocity. Items with the highest speed are allocated the top slots in the warehouse, whereas items with slower speed are placed further back.

The distance factor is another key element in slot efficiency. It is a measure of the amount of space needed to facilitate the pick-to-ship process. The measure takes into account the velocity of the items as along with their rack placements and equipment handling characteristics.

It is crucial to take into consideration the costs associated with a slot change to increase slot efficiency. Managers can estimate the cost of a typical change in slot and its impact on other aspects of slot efficiency such as velocity by analyzing a typical slot.

After a couple of months reviewing the data, and re-evaluating the recommendations, the casino began using the software more frequently. The gaming operations team estimates that they will save 10-12 hours a month on their traditional analyses and this doesn't include time they spend reviewing the data rated by customers or preparing and analyzing the latest, actionable strategies.

The team was able, using the new recommendations provided by SRE to implement a variety of game changes that increased the revenue of players. Dancing Drums Explosion, and Twinstar Wave XL from Scientific Games saw significant gains in the top lease rankings and WAP rankings. The casino was also able to shift their budget from marketing and other costs to enhancing the floor's performance.

Perimeter Efficiency

We all know that wide receivers tend score more touchdowns when they're in a position to hit perimeter targets rather than slot targets. This is because they are generally focused downfield and typically have one-on-one coverage. One thing that might be surprising to some however, is the fact that the top five slot players and the rest of the group score different on perimeter targets.

Of the wide receivers who have been on at least 40 targets in the past two seasons the top five slot scorers on the perimeter routes were all speed receivers: Mike Evans, Amari Cooper, Tyler Lockett and Michael Gallup. The bottom half of this list is dominated by players who are more possession-based, like Chris Godwin and Diontae Johnston. The Bucs will likely move the latter two into the slot more often during this season, which could increase their targets. However, they'll need to improve their scoring on the perimeter in order to maintain their high standard.

The slot is the best option for wideouts who are fast, as they are able to open more easily when their route won't be covered by a linebacker or cornerback. Corey Coleman is the only wide receiver who isn't a speedy wideout but would benefit from more slot work. He's a good target for intermediate and short routes.

Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler and other possession-based receivers are at the bottom of the list. They're better on intermediate and short routes, rather than deep areas. Jeudy, who will be the Rams' primary slot receiver this year is a sleeper selection. Courtland Cooper and Amari Sutton are expected to play a larger role in downfield targets. Hamler is expected to excel on shorter-to-mid and intermediate routes, because it was where he excelled when playing for the Bills in 2021. Hamler could be a fantastic replacement for the departed wideout Jordan Matthews.

Percentage of Snaps in the Slot

The proportion of snaps receivers take in the slot could be a good indicator for their ability to run routes deep. It's not always an accurate reflection of a receiver's abilities since some receivers are better in the slot, but they can't play deeper.

For example, the Eagles' Alshon Jeffery leads the league in the number of targets per game (4.8) however, he is sixth in the slot receiving score (58.5). This is because the majority of his targets come from outside, and it's a challenge to get a first down when playing an open, deep route.

On the other hand, certain receivers excel inside and aren't able to do much on the perimeter. For example, the Panthers gave Robby Anderson 978 snaps this season, and he completed a whopping 74% of his slot routes, compared to only 26% on boundary routes. This is a significant difference and illustrates how much more efficient he is when aligned in the slot.

Chris Godwin, a Buccaneers player, plays inside the majority of the time on his passing downs and is among the top five slot receiving scores (58.5). He also ran 51% of his perimeter routes and is a master in one-on-1 coverage.

Speed receivers are more effective when lining up inside, as they can get targeted way down the field, and often find themselves with one-on-one coverage. This is why you'll see names like Julio Jones, Mike Evans and Amari Cooper in the top five on our list.

McDuffie, Moore and other slot cornerbacks are also in this group. Both have been able to generate pressures in the passing game with McDuffie leading the NFL with seven forced fumbles and Moore having the best tackle stop rate on this list (-3.5). Spagnuolo increased McDuffie's capabilities by putting him in the slot for nickel and dime packages, and then shifting him to the outside for base defense. In addition, Moore's capability to stop big run plays has been a tremendous advantage when playing in the slot.

Percentage of Snaps Outside

While the NFL's top receivers like Baldwin, Golden Tate and Larry Fitzgerald excel on the perimeter, it's also worth noting that their slot counterparts are equally good. Wide receivers who have high slot grades have touchdowns that are about the same as those on the perimeter. This is due to the fact that quarterbacks are more consistent with their target distribution when they throw to slot and outside wide receivers than other inside options like tight ends and backfield passers.

It's interesting to see a player like CeeDee lamb on this list for 2022. He plays the slot in 3 WR sets, and flanker in 2 of them. Lamb is running more routes in the slot than most of the players on this list. This is an excellent opportunity to create matchup benefits for your team and explain why Lamb ranks as the highest-graded slot receiver in our system this season.

He also plays the X-position and makes big plays outside. Lamb isn't as powerful as the other players in this ranking however, he's highly skilled and is a perfect fit for the Cowboys' scheme.

Mecole Hardman is another example of a player who's capable of posting big numbers on both types of targets. He's among the top players in the game at taking throws from behind his shoulders. He's also a great contested-catch player.

Jalen Hilton is another player who is a slot specialist. He's been positioned in this position on 85.7 percent of his defensive snaps thus far in the season. He's allowed the third-lowest target EPA and the fifth-best run stop EPA among cornerbacks aligned in the slot, making him a crucial player in the defense of his team. On the other hand, he's had trouble to prevent passes from the outside and has been able to give an unfavorable EPA against these kinds of targets. This is because he's playing with safety and linebackers who cannot match Hilton's speed, size or route-running abilities.
