Regular aerobic exercise can induce alterations in structural and hemodynamic physiology of the heart in both athletic and nonathletic populations. This is because due to cardiac adaptation to exercise improves cardiac workout capacity by increasing left ventricular function. The aim of the present study was to examine the effect of aerobic exercise on blood pressure and left ventricular structural and myocardial function in Ethiopian non-athletic males.
Twenty male adults (aged 19-23 years) were recruited and they were engaged in aerobic exercise training for 3 months (3days/week, 50-75%MHR). Selected participants underwent standard transthoracic doppler echocardiographic examinations before and after intervention of the exercise training. Collected data were analyzed through Paired Sample T test using IBM SPSS version 21 statistical software with significance level set at p<0.05.
Finding of the study indicated that significant reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure was observed after exercise training (p<0.05). ROS chemical Improvement was recorded in PWT (7.4±0.94mm vs 7.95±0.61mm, p=0.017) and IVST (7.95±0.83mm vs 8.25±0.72mm, p=0.030) while significant reduction was recorded in LVIDS (33.85±0.99mm vs 32.45±2.04mm, p=0.002). Aerobic exercises also induced significant improvement on left ventricular myocardial function parameters (p<0.05) in end diastolic volume (95.8±8.4ml vs 100.45±11.42ml), stroke volume (52.55±7.12ml vs 58.15±11.18ml) and ejection fraction (54.73±4.11 vs 57.53±6.2). However, exercise didn't stimulate significant change in the internal diameter at end diastole (0.086), end systolic volume (p=0.173) and cardiac output (p=0.13).

It has neoplastic features such as local recurrence, invasive growth, and vascular invasion, leading to the possibility of malignant sarcomatous changes. The clinical presentations of colonic IPT may include abdominal pain, anemia, a palpable mass, and intestinal obstruction. A few cases of colonic IPT have been reported, but colonic IPT with pedunculated morphology is very rare. Furthermore, since it can mimic malignant polyps, understanding the endoscopic findings of colonic IPT is important for proper treatment. Herein, we present a case of colonic IPT with pseudosarcomatous changes, presenting as a large polyp, mimicking a malignant polyp in the cecum, along with a literature review.
Nutritional status influences quality of life among patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), although there is no clear method to evaluate nutritional status in this setting. Therefore, this study examined whether bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) could be used to evaluate the nutritional status of patients with IBD.
We retrospectively analyzed data from 139 Korean patients with IBD who were treated between November 2018 and November 2019. Patients were categorized as having active or inactive IBD based on the Harvey-Bradshaw index (a score of ≥5 indicates active Crohn's disease) and the partial Mayo scoring index (a score of ≥2 indicates active ulcerative colitis). BIA results and serum nutritional markers were analyzed according to disease activity.
The mean patient age was 45.11±17.71 years. The study included 47 patients with ulcerative colitis and 92 patients with Crohn's disease. Relative to the group with active disease (n=72), the group with inactive disease (n=67) had significantly higher values for hemoglobin (P<0.001), total protein (P<0.001), and albumin (P<0.001). Furthermore, the group with inactive disease had higher BIA values for body moisture (P=0.047), muscle mass (P=0.046), skeletal muscle mass (P=0.042), body mass index (P=0.027), and mineral content (P=0.034). Moreover, the serum nutritional markers were positively correlated with the BIA results.
Nutritional markers evaluated using BIA were correlated with serum nutritional markers and inversely correlated with disease activity. Therefore, we suggest that BIA may be a useful tool that can help existing nutritional tests monitor the nutritional status of IBD patients.

This study investigated the prevalence of knee osteoarthritis among stroke survivors aged over 60 years and analyzed the association between knee osteoarthritis and health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in stroke survivors.
We analyzed data of 287 participants who had experienced a stroke (stroke group) from the 2010-2012 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Among the participants, 65 stroke survivors also had knee osteoarthritis. We used the European Quality of Life-5 Dimensions (EQ-5D) questionnaire to compare the differences in HRQOL according to the presence or absence of knee osteoarthritis in the stroke group. Multiple regression analysis was performed to determine associated factors affecting HRQOL in the stroke group.
The prevalence of knee osteoarthritis was 21% in the stroke group. The EQ-5D index score was significantly lower in patients in the stroke group with knee osteoarthritis than in those without knee osteoarthritis (adjusted mean±standard error [SE], 0.680±0.011 for stroke with knee osteoarthritis and 0.817±0.003 stroke without knee osteoarthritis; p<0.00001). Knee osteoarthritis, age, income level, education level, smoking, walking days, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease significantly influenced HRQOL in the stroke group.
The study results confirmed that the prevalence of knee osteoarthritis was 21% in the stroke group and that HRQOL was significantly lower among patients in the stroke group with knee osteoarthritis. These findings suggest the importance of active management of knee osteoarthritis in stroke survivors for HRQOL.

A total of 46 patients with positive serum anti-CV2 antibody were included. The average age of the patients was (54±15) years old, with a male to female ratio of 1.88∶1. Twenty-six patients were diagnosed with paraneoplastic neurological syndrome (PNS). The most malignant tumors were thymoma, small cell lung cancer, and prostate cancer. The most common PNS included myasthenia gravis, subacute cerebellar degeneration, and subacute/chronic sensorimotor neuropathies. Twenty non-PNS patients exhibited subacute/old cerebral infarction, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and so on. Among them, brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of 10 cases showed different degrees of white matter demyelination, some of which were accompanied by brain atrophy. The current study found that the positive predictive value of anti-CV2 antibody for the diagnosis of PNS was 56.5%, which was relatively weak. As an accompanying antibody, it may be a coincidence, and it may also be related to the involvement of family members in the pathological process of the diseases. Objective To present the surgical technique of endoscope assisted arthroplasty for total hip replacement via minimum invasive direct anterior approach and analyze its early clinical outcome. Methods From November 2019 to May 2020, endoscopic total hip arthroplasty via direct anterior approach was performed on 30 patients (32 hips), including 12 males (13 hips) and 18 females (19hips), in the Department of Orthopedics of Fujian Provincial Hospital. The average age of patients was (63±14) years (ranged 32-87 years). The average body mass index (BMI) of the patients was (26.9±4.5) kg/m2. There were 12 cases whose BMI was higher than 28.0 kg/m2 and the maximum BMI was 35.2 kg/m2. The surgery was performed on supine position using a 5-6 cm proximal transverse incision and a distal selective percutaneous puncture incision to perform the acetabulum preparation and the prosthesis implantation with the novel designed split tool under the monitoring of endoscope; the lift-top tractor system was used to raise the femur (both P>0.05). There was no statistically significant difference between the VAS scores at the same state at different times (both>0.05). The weight-bearing exercise was applied in all patients within 12 h after surgery. The length of postoperative hospital stays varied from 1 to 3 days((2.0±0.9) days). At the 6th-month follow-up, the Harris score of the hip was 94.7±3.0, which significantly improved when compared with that before the operation (35.5±8.1)(P less then 0.01). No sensory abnormalities were observed. The satisfaction score of the patients was 9.3±0.5 (full score set to 10). Conclusions The efficacy and safety of the endoscope assisted total hip arthroplasty for total hip replacement is acceptable. This procedure can help to reduce the compression of the muscles by the retractor in the conventional operation. It can be applied to obese and muscular patients. Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics, diagnosis, treatment and outcome of adnexal torsion at different gestational weeks during pregnancy. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted of the clinical data of 24 pregnancy patients with adnexal torsion, aged 21-38 (30.6±4.4) years old, who were admitted and delivered in Peking University Third Hospital from 2015 to 2019. According to the gestational age, all patients were divided into two groups less then 28 weeks group (11cases) and ≥28 weeks group (13 cases), to compare the intergroup differences in clinical characteristics, treatment and outcome, and the differences of clinical data and outcome between two groups were compared. Results The proportion of patients with twin pregnancy and assisted reproductive technology in the less then 28 weeks group was significantly higher than that in the ≥28 weeks group (5/11 vs 1/13, 8/11 vs 1/13, P less then 0.05). No significant differences between the two groups were recorded in terms of the size of effective in the treatment of adnexal torsion with good outcome for mother and infant in the study. Objective To analyze the clinicopathological characteristics of T1 breast cancer, the risk of lymph node metastasis and related prognostic factors. Methods The National Cancer Institute Surveillance, Epidemiology and Results (SEER) database was utilized to search and screen out 73 421 female patients with T1 breast cancer from 2010 to 2015 for retrospective analysis. Logistic regression was used to assess the risk factors of lymph node metastasis. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was used to analysis overall survival (OS) and breast cancer-specific survival (BCSS); Log-rank test and Cox risk model were used for prognostic analysis. Results A total of 73 421 female patients were enrolled, including 61 955 (84.4%) N0 stage, 9 995 N1 stage (13.6%), 1 087 N2 stage (1.5%) and 384 N3 stage (0.5%). Patients with invasive cancer, histological grade 3, T1c stage, progesterone receptor (PR) positive and human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER-2) positive were most likely to develop lymph node metastasis (all P less then 0.
