Multivariate analysis showed that a low
transcript level was an independent risk factor for RFS (HR = 2.938 [1.427, 6.047],
= 0.003) and CIR (HR = 3.367 [1.668, 6.796],
= 0.001) in patients with Ph-negative B-ALL.

transcript levels were significantly higher in patients with Ph-negative B-ALL and a low
transcript level was independently correlated with increased relapse risk.
RASD1 transcript levels were significantly higher in patients with Ph-negative B-ALL and a low RASD1 transcript level was independently correlated with increased relapse risk."Non-image-forming" (NIF) effects of light are mediated primarily by a subset of intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cells (ipRGCs) expressing the photopigment, melanopsin (OPN4). These NIF functions include circadian entrainment, pupillary reflexes, and photic effects on sleep, mood, and cognition. We recently reported that mice of multiple genotypes exhibit reduced voluntary ethanol intake under both constant darkness (DD) and constant light (LL) relative to standard light-dark (LD) conditions. In the present study, we sought to determine whether these effects are mediated by melanopsin-expressing ipRGCs and their potential relationship to photic effects on the circadian system. To this end, we examined the effects of environmental lighting regimen on both ethanol intake and circadian activity rhythms in a genetically engineered mouse model (Opn4aDTA/aDTA) in which melanopsin expression is completely blocked while ipRGCs are progressively ablated due to activation of attenuated diphtheria toxin A (aDTA) transgene under the control of the Opn4 promoter. As expected from previous studies, Opn4aDTA/aDTA mice displayed dramatic attenuation of circadian photosensitivity, but surprisingly, showed identical suppression of ethanol intake under both DD and LL as that seen in controls. These results demonstrate that the effects of lighting regimen on voluntary ethanol intake are independent of melanopsin-expressing ipRGCs and ipRGC-mediated photic effects on the circadian system. Rather, these effects are likely mediated by classical retinal photoreceptors and central pathways.Wheat is one of the most important crops worldwide. Mexicali, Baja California, is an important wheat producer in Mexico with an average production of 507,543 t. Wheat straw is generated as a residue which could be used for different purposes such as bioenergy, heat and power generation. In this work, an assessment and potential site determination of a biomass power plant operating with wheat straw as fuel was performed. Aspen Plus was used to evaluate a plant capacity of at least 10 MW considering the physicochemical properties and an higher heating value of 14.86 MJ kg-1 of the wheat straw from the region. The combustion produced 39.76 MW, and the overall plant efficiency was 25.52%. The development of the multi-criteria geographic information system model allowed us to assess and analyse four factors and three restrictions to determine the potential site for the biomass power plant. The factors were raw material, wheat crops, electric transmission lines, paths and roads, water canals and aqueducts, while the restrictions were localities, Ramsar sites and faults. The biomass power plant is technically and geographically feasible. The geographical coordinates of the potential site of the biomass power plant that fulfils all the criteria are 32°29'29.72″N and 115°15'39.45″W.
Aberrant of p53 and Bcl2 genes cause changes in the quantity and quality of their proteins and contribute to the pathogenesis of some cancer types including breast cancer. Expression of p53 and Bcl2 were associated to adverse clinical outcomes in breast cancer.

To predict the survival outcomes of invasive breast cancer in Vietnam, using immunohistochemical expression of p53, Bcl2 proteins.

The current study was conducted on 526 breast cancer patients who had surgical operations, but had not received neo-adjuvant chemotherapy, from 2011 to 2014. The clinicopathological characteristics were recorded. Immunohistochemical staining was performed on p53, Bcl2 markers. Expression of p53 and Bcl2 were paired into different immunophenotypes for analysis with clinicopathological characteristics and survival. All breast cancer patients' survival were analyzed by using Kaplan-Meier and Log-Rank models.

The presence of p53 protein was detected in 44.1%. Positive p53, and p53+Bcl2- immunophenotype were significantly associated with poorer prognostic features. In contrast, the positive Bcl2 protein accounted on 57.6%, and combination of p53-Bcl2+ were strong correlated with better clinicopathological parameters. JAK inhibition Bcl2 positivity was observed in higher than the negative Bcl2 in the five-year OS (Overall survival) proportion (91.2 vs 79.4%, respectively) (p < 0.05). Multivariate analysis revealed that the expression of p53, Bcl2 or combinations of these 2 proteins was no longer remained as an independent prognostic variable.

The Bcl2 positivity had a distinct OS and DFS (Disease free survival). The expression of p53 and Bcl2 are inversely correlated to clinical outcomes in breast cancer.

Therefore, the aim of this study was to examine the effects of a complex 37 PCB congener mixture identified in blubber specific to dolphins residing in the estuarine waters of Charleston, South Carolina. Immunotoxicity was determined in adult female B6C3F1 mice by assessing lymphocyte proliferation, splenic and thymic immunophenotypes, and IgM production. Mice were exposed via oral gavage to the PCB-mixture (0, 1.8, 3.6, 7.1, or 14.3 mg/kg/day) for 28 days to yield a targeted total administered dose (TAD) 0, 50, 100, 200, or 400 mg/kg. Significant increased liver weight occurred at the highest treatment. IgM production was suppressed compared to control for all treatments. Numbers of thymic CD4+/CD8+, CD4-/CD8-, and CD4+/CD8- cells were not altered, but numbers of thymic CD4-/CD8+ cells were significantly increased in the highest treatment. Lymphocyte proliferation was not markedly affected by any treatment. The numbers of splenic CD4/CD8 T-cells or MHCII+ cells were not significantly changed. Humoral immunity using the plaque-forming cell assay for determining the specific IgM antibody-forming cell response appeared to be the most sensitive endpoint affected. As the lowest concentration tested resulted in decreased IgM production and total and free thyroxine (T4) serum levels a NOAEL was not identified. The calculated ED50 for suppression of IgM production was 2.4 mg/kg/day.
The incidence of colorectal cancer is increasing every year, and autophagy may be related closely to the pathogenesis of colorectal cancer. Autophagy is a natural catabolic mechanism that allows the degradation of cellular components in eukaryotic cells. However, autophagy plays a dual role in tumorigenesis. It not only promotes normal cell survival and tumor growth but also induces cell death and suppresses tumors survival. In addition, the pathogenesis of various conditions, including inflammation, neurodegenerative diseases, or tumors, is associated with abnormal autophagy. The present work aimed to examine the significance of autophagy-related genes (ARGs) in prognosis prediction, to construct an autophagy prognostic model, and to identify independent prognostic factors for colorectal cancer (CRC).

This study discovered a total of 36 ARGs in CRC cases using The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Human Autophagy-dedicated (HADd) databases along with functional enrichment analysis. Then, an autophagy prognoformatics technology was employed to determine and construct a prognostic model of autophagy for colon cancer patients, which revealed 3 autophagy-related features, namely, MAP1LC3C, WIPI2, and RAB7A.We examined motives for pregabalin misuse and the relation with knowledge on its risks among patients receiving MMT. A questionnaire was used to assess patients' knowledge before and after an explanatory session. Responses were either "never-use" or "ever-use" (past, occasional, chronic). Pregabalin in urine was tested during 1 month, 4 months before, and 24 months after the explanatory session. Of 231 participants, 72 (31.2%) responded "ever-use" while 46 (19.9%) tested positive for pregabalin (42 (58.3%) of the "ever-use" and 4 (2.5%) of the "never-use" group). The 'occasional' subgroup had the highest proportion of non-prescribed pregabalin (75%), used it for recreational purpose (16.7%) and non-orally (41.7%). link2 A faster dropout (shorter retention in MMT) was observed among patients who used pregabalin not orally (1.4 years, 95%CI 1.2-1.7) vs. (1.7 years, CI 1.6-1.8, p = .02), and those who used it not for pain (p = .024). Knowledge scores were higher among those tested positive for pregabalin (3.5 ± 1.7 vs. 2.9 ± 2.0, p = .04). Pregabalin is highly misused among MMT patients. Those who use it not for its indications, or not orally had a shorter retention in MMT, most likely not as a sole cause. "Ever users" knew more about pregabalin indications and risks. Monitoring and education on pregabalin are recommended.
To compare concussion incidence in male and female soccer players due to the specific concussion-causing activity.

PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library were searched for studies published between January 2000 and February 2020. Search terms included 'sex,' 'gender,' 'sex differences,' 'brain injury,' 'sports,' 'athletes,' 'incidence,' 'epidemiology,' 'symptoms,' and 'injury rate.' Studies that contained data on concussion incidence in soccer and featured comparisons by sex and soccer activity were included. Studies that were not written in English, contained data on non-sports-related concussions, or were conference abstracts were excluded.

Six studies were included in this meta-analysis, each of which contributed the number of concussions in males and females for a specific soccer activity. Concussion incidence rates were calculated using athlete-exposures as the denominator and a rate ratio was measured by dividing the concussion rate among female soccer players by the rate among male soccer players. layers.Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) is a growing subspecialty with a broad scope. link3 The Covid-19 pandemic demands flexible staffing models. Advanced practice providers (APPs) can be a valuable addition to hospital medicine teams, although there is no established training program for APPs within PHM. The authors' purpose is to describe how one institution rapidly established a PHM APP team by collaborating with experienced APPs working in other areas of the hospital. This APP team cared for 16% of the average daily census during the pilot period with no significant difference in length of stay compared to traditional teams.
Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is one of the most common malignancies in children. Our aim was to identify a novel miRNA that can predict prognosis of childhood ALL patients and explore its potential mechanism.

The miRNA expression profiles of childhood ALL were analyzed using GEO database and HiSeq instruments. The expression of miR-155 was examined by RT-PCR in 42 ALL patients. To investigate the role of miR-155 in ALL, four ALL cell lines (CEM-C1, Jurkat, MOLT-3 and MOLT-4) were transfected with miR-155 mimics, miR-155 inhibitors or corresponding controls. Dual-luciferase reporter system was applied to confirm the miR-155 target ZNF238. Moreover, proliferation and apoptosis were evaluated by MTT and flow cytometry.

Dataset GSE56489 and GSE23024 demonstrated that miR-155 was up-regulated and ZNF238 was down-regulated at diagnosis status of ALL. High miR-155 expression was associated with poor outcome. Overexpressed miR-155 promoted ALL cell proliferation and inhibited apoptosis. Dual-luciferase reporter result showed that miR-155 directly regulated ZNF238.
