For example, cell-cell adhesion was the most enriched category of proteins identified, and many of these proteins have been implicated in breast cancer metastasis. In addition, we characterized CLD size and area in MCF10CA1a cells using transmission electron microscopy. Our results provide a hypothesis-generating list of potential players in breast cancer progression and offers a new perspective on the role of CLDs in cancer.
To investigate the diagnostic ability of radiomics-based machine learning in differentiating atypical low-grade astrocytoma (LGA) from anaplastic astrocytoma (AA).

The current study involved 175 patients diagnosed with LGA (n = 95) or AA (n = 80) and treated in the Neurosurgery Department of West China Hospital from April 2010 to December 2019. Radiomics features were extracted from pre-treatment contrast-enhanced T1 weighted imaging (T1C). Nine diagnostic models were established with three selection methods [Distance Correlation, least absolute shrinkage, and selection operator (LASSO), and Gradient Boosting Decision Tree (GBDT)] and three classification algorithms [Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and random forest (RF)]. The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, and areas under receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of each model were calculated. Diagnostic ability of each model was evaluated based on these indexes.

Nine radiomics-based machine learning models with promising diagnostic performances were established. For LDA-based models, the optimal one was the combination of LASSO + LDA with AUC of 0.825. For SVM-based modes, Distance Correlation + SVM represented the most promising diagnostic performance with AUC of 0.808. And for RF-based models, Distance Correlation + RF were observed to be the optimal model with AUC of 0.821.

Radiomic-based machine-learning has the potential to be utilized in differentiating atypical LGA from AA with reliable diagnostic performance.

Acute PVD can cause the onset of symptoms that include visual disturbances, myodesopsia and photopsia. The goal of this short review was to provide a quick glance at the important factors related to PVD based on current literature in this field, which includes incidence, symptoms, diagnosis, risk factors, and education for patients with acute symptoms, and treatments. The take home message is that an ophthalmic examination at the onset of symptoms is of utmost importance, considering that irreversible sight-threatening complications can be prevented if diagnosed and treated promptly. The yeast Rhodosporidium toruloides NCYC 921 was used for lipid production, using Miscanthus biomass hydrolysate as carbon source. The hydrolysate was obtained by enzymatic hydrolysis of Miscanthus biomass (at high solids loading) previously subjected to a hydrothermal pre-treatment. Afterwards R. toruloides was grown on Miscanthus sp. hydrolysate (MH), undiluted and diluted, at the ratios of 14 (20 % v/v), 12 (33.3 % v/v) and 31 (75 % v/v). The best yeast performance was observed for MH 12 medium dilution, reaching the maximal biomass concentration of 6.3 g/L, the lipid content of 30.67 % w/w dry cell weight and the lipid concentration of 1.64 g/L. Flow cytometry demonstrated that R. toruloides cell membrane was massively damaged when the yeast was grown on undiluted MH, due to the presence of phenolic compounds; however, when the yeast was grown on diluted MH 12 and 14, the proportion of intact cells has increased during the yeast cultivation.
Heterotopic pregnancy is a rare form of pregnancy that involves implantation of simultaneous pregnancies at two sites. They are normally identified in early gestation when patients become symptomatic with vaginal bleeding or abdominal pain.

A 35-year-old woman (para 0, gravida 2) presented to the emergency department in haemorrhagic shock at 19 weeks and 5 days of gestation. On assessment she was hemodynamically unstable and was found to have a large hemoperitoneum on ultrasound. She subsequently underwent an exploratory laparotomy and right salpingectomy for a suspected ectopic pregnancy. The postoperative period was uneventful, and the intrauterine pregnancy continued to term.

Heterotopic pregnancy should be included in the differential diagnosis for women presenting with hemoperitoneum even beyond the first trimester.

Various melt pool phenomena have been shown to relate to measured transient absorption of the laser energy, which in turn, can be relatable to the melt pool emission measured in MPM systems. This paper describes use of a reflectometer-based instrument to measure the dynamic laser energy absorption during single-line laser scans. Scans are conducted on bare metal and single powder layer of nickel alloy 625 (IN625) at a range of laser powers. In addition, a photodetector aligned co-axially with the laser, often found in commercial LPBF monitoring systems, synchronously measured of the incandescent emission from the melt pool with the dynamic laser absorption. Relationships between the dynamic laser absorption, co-axial MPM, and surface features on the tracks are observed, providing illustration of the melt pool dynamics that formed these features. Time-integrated measurements of laser absorption are shown to correlate well with MPM signal, as well as indicate the transition between conduction and keyhole mode. This transition is corroborated by metallographic cross-section measurement, as well as topographic measurements of the solidified tracks. Ultimately, this paper exemplifies the utility of dynamic laser absorption measurements to inform both the physical nature of the melt pool dynamics, as well as interpretation of process monitoring signals.Silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) can easily cross through the blood-testis barrier and encourage reproductive dysfunction. This study investigated the protective effects of yttrium oxide nanoparticles (YO-NPs) on sexual behavior and spermatotoxicity induced by Ag-NPs in male mice. Twenty-four male mice were separated into four groups and injected intraperitoneally once a week as the following group I (Ag-NPs at the dose of 40 mg/kg), group II (YO-NPs at the dose of 40 mg/kg), group III (Ag + YO NPs at the doses of 40 mg/kg, each) and group IV (control; distilled water). After 35 days of the injections, the sexual behavior, oxidative parameters in testis, sperm parameters, serum testosterone, apoptotic germ cells and testicular histology were evaluated. Our findings showed that Ag-NPs decreased the weight of the reproductive organs, sexual behavior, oxidative defense parameters, sperm count and motility of male mice. In addition, the apoptotic cells in testicular cross-sections and TBARS level increased after Ag-NPs exposure when compared to other groups. However, the YO-NPs had protective effects in the studied parameters of testicles and minimized the Ag-NPs toxicity in male mice. In conclusion, the results revealed that the toxicity of Ag-NPS altered testicular functions in male mice that were effectively ameliorated by YO-NPs.Various anthropogenic and natural events over the years have gradually increased human exposure to various heavy metals. Several of these heavy metals including cadmium, mercury, nickel, chromium, and the metalloid arsenic among others, have created major public health concerns for their high level of toxicities. Identification of the general as well as the differentially affected cellular metabolic pathways will help understanding the molecular mechanism of different heavy metal-induced toxicities. In this study, we analyzed 25 paired (control vs. treated) transcriptomic datasets derived following treatment of various human cells with different heavy metals and metalloid (arsenic, cadmium, chromium, iron, mercury, nickel and vanadium) to identify the affected metabolic pathways. The effects of these metals on metabolic pathways depend not only on the metals per se, but also on the nature of the treated cells. Tissue of origin, therefore, must be considered while assessing the effects of any particular heavy metal or metalloid. Among the metals and metalloid, arsenic appears to have relatively more pleiotropic influences on cellular metabolic pathways including those known to have association with diabetes. Although only two stem cell derived datasets are included in the current study, effects of heavy metals on these cells appear to be different from other mature cells of similar tissue origin. This study provides useful information about different heavy metal affected pathways, which may be useful in further exploration using wet-lab based techniques.
/objective The Survey Instrument for Natural History, Aetiology and Prevalence of Patellofemoral Pain (SNAPPS) is a self-report questionnaire which is a specifically designed measurement instrument to identify patellofemoral pain. It has reported high sensitivity, specificity and test-retest reliability to discriminate between people with knee pain, with or without patellofemoral pain. SNAPPS hasn't been studied in Thailand; therefore, the aim of this study was to cross-culturally adapt the questionnaire into Thai.

This study was separated into two phases cross-cultural adaptation and test-retest reliability. The Survey Instrument for Natural History, Aetiology and Prevalence of Patellofemoral Pain was translated into Thai following the guidelines for the cross cultural adaptation of self-report measures including six steps. Methylation inhibitor Thirty four knee pain patients performed the test-retest reliability of the final version of this questionnaire. They were clinically diagnosed with patellofemoral pain by a physical n in young Thai patients.
The Thai version of the Survey Instrument for Natural History, Aetiology and Prevalence of Patellofemoral Pain can be used to assess patellofemoral pain in young Thai patients.
Most patients with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury undergo ACL reconstruction (ACLR) with the expectation of being able to return to sport (RTS) at the same level of the competition as before the injury. The magnitude and asymmetry of landing impact are important post-ACLR functional variables related to increased ACL strain and poor athletic performance. However, the association between the RTS status and landing impact in post-ACLR patients is unknown.

To investigate the association between RTS status and landing impact during single-leg landing in post-ACLR patients.

Forty-four patients after primary, unilateral ACLR participated in this study. They had already participated in sports post-ACLR. Questionnaires were used to assess whether the participants achieved the same competitive level of RTS as before the injury. The magnitude and symmetry of the peak vertical ground reaction force (pVGRF) were collected and analysed during single-leg jump landings. Additionally, knee functions (range of motion, laxity, effusion, strength, and single-leg hop distance) were measured.
