Modifications in functional system centrality within first-episode drug-naïve adolescent-onset schizophrenia.
The method adopted is promising. It established the most critical lines (about 20) with high unbalanced current magnitudes and high line losses during the disturbance. Based on the result analysis, four (quad) bundles of conductors is designed as a proposed modification to the upgrade of all critical double circuit lines and the conversion of single critical lines on the 330kV transmission network to improve the power transfer capability and also meet the future transmission network development plan. Furthermore, recommendations that are considered desirable in this study are proffered to ensure acceptable power quality and security in the network.Cyclophosphamide is a nitrogen mustard class of drugs that are often used in cancer chemotherapy. However, the use of Cyclophosphamide in high doses over a long period has been shown to increase the risk of developing secondary cancer. This can be indicated by the formation of mutagenic DNA adducts, such as O6-Methylguanine. Therefore, this adduct can be used as a biomarker for secondary cancer in patients receiving Cyclophosphamide. Bio sampling was carried out by using the Dried Blood Spot (DBS) method, followed by DNA extraction by using QIAamp DNA mini kit, and acid hydrolysis to obtain O6-Methylguanine. Analysis of O6-Methylguanine was performed by using the UPLC-MS/MS instrument with the conditions developed by Vianney, Harahap, & Suryadi (2021). Partial validation was carried out before the analysis. The results obtained from the calibration curve, accuracy, and precision validation test met the FDA requirements. The analysis method was then implemented in 16 breast cancer patients who received the Cyclophosphamide regimen. The O6-Methylguanine was successfully detected and quantified in all of the samples in the range of 0.55-6.66 ng/mL. https://www.selleckchem.com/btk.html It shows that the O6-Methylguanine accumulation in cancer patients receiving Cyclophosphamide is very likely to occur and the analysis method proposed by Vianney, Harahap, & Suryadi (2021) is potential to be used for Therapeutic Drug Monitoring in this group of patients.According to media systems dependency theory, increased dependence on media to meet individual needs is directly proportional to greater perceived media importance in one's life and subsequently stronger media effects on one's attitudes and behavior. This dependency relationship intensifies during times of uncertainty or crisis. Although several recent studies have focused on media dependence during health crises such as SARS and H1N1 influenza, insights from eastern countries may not be validated in other hemisphere. Therefore, the purpose of the current study was to adopt a cross-cultural lens to examine how participants from three different continents used media during the COVID-19 pandemic. In total, 860 adults completed a survey during April and May 2020. Participants were asked to provide demographic and socioeconomic details, followed by questions measuring their media consumption, channel preferences, motivations, and perception of their well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic. Results revealed that national culture had a strong influence on media use and preferences during the COVID-19 crisis. For example, the US participants spent the most time using the media but scored the lowest on well-being. This aligns with the claim that in individualistic countries people rely on media more than on their social network. US participants also used the media for surveillance goals more than their Thai or Croatian counterparts. Another cultural difference was that Thai participants reported using the media to relax more than other nationalities, which reflects the Thai's "way of life" and can explain their higher score on well-being. Finally, there were cultural differences in the use of social media. While Croatian and Thai participants' use of social media reflected collectivistic tendencies (using social media for social interaction), among Americans, social media use reflects individualistic trends (using social media for surveillance). The study discusses limitations and suggestions for future research.
To investigate plasma concentrations of Interleukin-16 (IL-16) and Interleukin-10 (IL-10) in Lebanese knee osteoarthritis (KOA) patients and to examine the association between the diet-associated inflammation and increased risk for KOA.

A total of 208 study participants were assigned to one of the 3 groups Diagnosed Knee Osteoarthritis group (DKOA) (N = 78); Undiagnosed Knee Osteoarthritis group (UKOA) (N = 60) and controls matched on age, sex and sociodemographic characteristics (N = 70). UKOA represents KOA features before they are altered by therapeutic intervention and lifestyle modifications that follow the diagnosis. Energy-adjusted dietary inflammatory index (E-DII™) scores were calculated using 2-day 24-hour recalls. IL-10 and IL-16 were measured using commercially available sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kits.

The UKOA group and controls did not show any significant difference in plasma IL-16 levels (p = 0.28), whereas significantly higher levels of IL-10 were observed in the UKOA gt in KOA pathology. We did not find an association between circulating levels of IL-16 and KOA.
Our findings indicate an association between circulating levels of IL-10 and KOA in Lebanese population, and a potential role of pro-inflammatory diet in KOA pathology. We did not find an association between circulating levels of IL-16 and KOA.Oral corrective feedback, a key topic in second language pedagogy and research in applied linguistics and second language acquisition, has widely been investigated for the past two decades. However, the relationship between teachers' and students' beliefs about oral corrective feedback has been relatively underexplored. The current study extends this line of research by examining the extent to which Vietnamese English as a foreign language teachers' and students' beliefs concerning the importance, types, and timing of feedback are aligned. The data consisted of questionnaires with 250 students, interviews with 15 of those who completed the questionnaires, and interviews with 24 teachers at four public secondary schools in Vietnam. The findings showed some matches and mismatches between the teachers' and students' beliefs. Both the teachers and students highly valued the efficacy of feedback and were positive about explicit feedback types such as explicit corrections and metalinguistic feedback. Regarding feedback timing, the students preferred immediate feedback while the teachers expressed their concerns about the students' emotional state and the possibility of disruption of immediate feedback on the flow of students' speech. The findings are interpreted in relation to sociocultural factors, contextual factors, and teachers' and students' experiences. Implications for language teachers, teacher educators, and professional development program designers are discussed.Despite the improvement in technologies for the production of alternative fuels (AFs), and the needs for using more AFs for motor vehicles for the reductions in air pollution and greenhouse gases, the number of alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs) in the global transportation sector has not been increasing significantly (there are even small drops for adapting some AFs through the projections) in recent years and even in the near future with projections to 2050. And gasoline and diesel fuels will remain as the main energy sources for motor vehicles. After reviewing the latest advantages and disadvantages of AFVs, including flexible-fuel, gas, electric, hybrid electric, and fuel cell electric vehicles, it is found that the higher price of AFVs, compared to that of gasoline and diesel vehicles, might be one of the main barriers for their wider adoption. But on the other hand, there is the "chicken and egg" problem. Because people mostly do not select AFVs due to their higher price and sometimes their less infrastruf gasoline or diesel vehicles. Detailed information, examples, and recommendations to the increases in people's knowledge and encouragement are presented in this review.Little Akaki River drains residential, industrial, and agricultural irrigation areas of Addis Ababa City Administration and is exposed to point and non-point sources of pollution. The purpose of this study was to identify sources, evaluate the levels of river water pollution, and its implications for environmental and public health. Pollution indices and multivariate statistical analyses were used to determine sources and levels of the river water pollution. Trace metals concentration was determined using inductive coupled plasma optical emission and spectrophotometer (ICP-OES). The average concentrations of COD, BOD, TDS, NO3-N, NH3-N, SO4 -2, and PO4 -3 ranged from 40. 33 ± 5. 13 to 425 ± 8. 00 mg/L; 12.34 ± 0.11 to 188 ± 7.07 mg/L; 48.00 ± 0.83 to 915. 57 ± 1. 27 mg/L; 1.56 ± 1.01 to 66.50 ± 6.36 mg/L; 0.15 ± 0. 08 to 42.83 ± 11.43 mg/L; 20.50 ± 10.61 to 77.50 ± 17.68 mg/L; and 0.35 ± 0.33 to 37.95 ± 0.92 mg/L, respectively. The average concentrations of Zn ranged (0.048 ± 0.037 to 0.318 ± 0.158 mg/L), Cr (0.012 ± 0.007 to 0.203 ± 0.199 mg/L), Cd (2.01). Heavy metal pollution index values further demonstrated potential environmental and public health implications. The principal component analysis revealed a total of 88.99% variation in the dataset, mainly contributed by organic matter, nutrients, dissolved salts, and trace metals that originated from anthropogenic sources. Contamination of the river water has impaired its suitability for urban agriculture, aquaculture, livestock drinking, and recreational purposes. Thus, improving the river water quality is recommended to mitigate potential adverse effects and promote sustainable use of water resources. The main aim of this research was to compare a bio-coagulant, organic coagulant, and a conventional coagulant applied to the treatment of leachates. Coagulant options were Stage 1 FeCl3, Stage 2 Polyamine, and Stage 3 Opuntia ficus mucilage (OFM). Optimal conditions for maximum chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal were determined by experimental data and Response Surface Methodology. The application of Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis using Multi-Criteria Matrix (MCM) was explored by evaluating the Coagulation-Flocculation processes. Maximum COD removal (%) and the best MCM scores (on a scale from 0 to 100) were Stage 1 69.2±0.9 and 48.50, Stage 2 37.8±1.1 and 79.0, and Stage 3 71.1±1.7, and 81.5. Maximum COD removal using FeCl3 and OFM was not statistically different (p 0.15 less then 0.05). OFM extraction process was evaluated (yield 0.70 ± 1.17%, carbohydrate content 32.6 ± 1.18%). MCM allows the evaluation of additional technical aspects, besides oxygen COD removal, as well as economic aspects, permitting a more comprehensive analysis. Significant COD removals indicate that the use of OFM as a coagulant in the treatment of stabilized leachate was effective. Opuntia ficus cladodes, a residue, were used to treat another residue (leachates).Problem gambling is among the public health hazards which may increase due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences on society. Results from a few countries have hitherto been diverse with respect to gambling during the pandemic. The present study aimed to study gambling behaviors during COVID-19 in Denmark, with the same methodology as previously used in Sweden, and also to provide a comparison to previously published Swedish data. A web survey was answered by 2,012 individuals, from December 2, to December 10, 2020. Four percent reported increased gambling habits, and three percent reported decreased gambling, during COVID-19. Self-reported increase in gambling was associated with spending more time at home, mental distress, and higher gambling severity. Prevalence of self-reported, increased gaming during COVID-19 was significantly lower in Denmark than in Sweden. Although the overall changes in gambling patterns during COVID-19 may be limited, people who increase their gambling during the pandemic may be at particular risk.
