This work aimed to report P. ovis parasitism in a dog. A male Pinscher that lives in rural areas and had free access to sheep farming showed hair loss in the dorsal region and mild itching. Dermatological examination demonstrated irregular alopecia, scabs, dry desquamation and erythema around the dorsal region of the thorax and pelvis. Hemogram has shown mild eosinophilia and the fungal culture was negative. In skin scrapings, P. ovis was observed, and its morphological characteristics were recorded. Treatment with ivermectin (0.5 mg/kg) was initiated orally once weekly for six weeks and amitraz for environmental control shown positive results. The diagnosis of psoroptic mange in dogs was performed based on morphological characterization of mite and the report of sheep contact. Nematodes D. repens locate in the subcutaneous and intramuscular tissue. The aim of this article is to describe rare case of pleural infection of a dog with nematodes D. repens. 12-year-old golden retriever had been treated in the veterinary clinic due to emaciation, weakness and dehydration, observed for 2 weeks. Hematologic and biochemical tests revealed reduction in the number of leukocytes and erythrocytes, significant decrease of hemoglobin, hematocrit and albumins as well as increased ALAT, urea and creatinine levels. Parasitological examination of blood smear revealed the presence of multiple microfilariae. Increased echogenicity of renal parenchyma was visible during ultrasound examination. Necropsy of euthanized animal revealed adult nematodes D. Fluvastatin purchase repens, located in the pleural cavity. There is only a report describing this species from specimens collected from the gills of Colomelus asellus, in the State of Amazonas, Brazil. In this sense, this is the first record of E. colomesus parasitizing C. asellus for the southwest of the Brazilian Amazon. Fish were collected in the Môa river, located in the municipality of Cruzeiro do Sul, State of Acre, Brazil, during drought and flood. The fish captured were analyzed, and the parasites found were measured, fixed, and identified. We calculated the parasite indices and evaluated whether the seasonal periods (drought and flood) influence the levels of parasite infestation in their hosts. The prevalence and infestation of E. colomesus in C. asellus were higher in the drought, indicating that the infestation of this copepod probably occurred during this period. The lower number of individuals found during the flood indicates that this is the period when E. colomesus detaches from its host to release of eggs into the environment. In this sense, this study expanded the distribution record of E. colomesus parasitizing C. asellus to southwestern Amazonia.Thirty-five white-spotted geckos, Tarentola annularis were collected from Shendi area, River Nile State, Sudan, between June and September 2019 and examined for the presence of haemoparasites infection. Six (17.14%) geckos were found to be positive for intra erythrocytic haemogregarine (Apicomplexa Haemogregarinidae) species with a mean overall infection intensity of 1.20% ± 0.32 and parasitemia level between ~0.70% and ~1.70%. However, most parasite gamonts were found intracellular, and no damage on the infected erythrocytes was observed. The prevalence of infection between adult and juvenile geckos was significantly different (P = 0.012); however, no substantial difference between males and females was found. On the other hand, the mean intensity of infection did not differ between adult and juvenile geckos. In conclusion, no obvious negative impact on the local T. annularis gecko community was observed due to haemogregarine species infection.A total of 85 faecal samples of domestic dogs were collected from six localities, including Birine, Sidi Ladjel, Dar Chioukh, Aïn Maâbed, Aïn El-Ibel and Djelfa city from province of Djelfa, Algeria. Samples were tested for presence of Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina and Ancylostoma caninum eggs by formol-ether concentration and flotation techniques. Microscopic examination revealed an infection rate of 9.4%, 15.3% and 1.15% for T. canis, T. leonina and A. caninum, respectively. link2 Males were more frequently infected with T. leonina as compared to females, while, no difference was observed regarding T. canis and A. caninum. Prevalence of T. canis and T. leonina did not vary significantly with age ranges of dogs. In contrast, A. caninum seems to be more found in dogs aged of 6-12 months. Prevalence of the three species did not vary significantly in dogs without diarrhea and those with diarrhea. An analysis of 376 specimens from three species of the genus Hoplopleura (H. acanthopus, H. affinis, H. edentula) identified 13 individuals with changes in the number and size of the setae on the sternal plates of the abdomen and irregularities in the structure of the plate itself (3.5% of the collection). The animals that make up the biodiversity of these biomes have an ongoing relationship with domestic animals. This study aimed to describe the prevalence and diversity of intestinal parasites in different class of animal hosts, domestic and wild, from the three biomes of Brazil's central region, during 2019. We analyzed animal faecal samples by sedimentation tests and centrifugal flotation in sucrose. The Shannon index test to calculate diversity and equitability, was used. In the 280 samples analyzed, 79.64% was positive. Domestic animals showed positivity of 87% and wild animals of 51%, being mammals the most prevalent, with 81%. Blastocystis sp. was the most prevalent protozoan, and Ascaris sp. of the helminths. Shannon's indexes were higher for the Pantanal. Overall, pigs, cows, and chickens had high prevalence values and diversity and equitability of enteroparasites. Total RNA was isolated and complementary DNA (cDNA) was transcribed from the peripheral blood samples of MDS patients and healthy controls. AID and the reference gene HPRT1 were analysed using Quantitative Real-time PCR(QRT-PCR). AID expression relative to HPRT1 was calculated. Patients were classified into "lower risk" and "higher risk" subgroups according to their initial IPSS and IPSS-R scores and their MDS subtypes at the time of study. Patients were also divided expression is not significantly different in "lower risk" and "higher risk" subgroups and in patients treated with hypomethylating agents. Increased AID expression may be an early step in MDS pathogenesis.
The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been an almost global pandemic with significant public health impacts. The increasing prevalence of malignancy has become a leading cause of human mortality. However, conflicting findings have been published on the association between malignancy and COVID-19 severity. This study aims to assess the pooled proportion of malignancy amongst 2019-nCov patients and to investigate the association between malignancy and COVID-19 severity.

Correlative studies were identi?ed by systematically searching electronic databases (PubMed, Web of Sciences and Embase) up to September 2, 2020. All data analyses were carried out using Stata 15.0.

Twenty-nine studies consisting of 9475 confirmed COVID-19 patients (median age 54.4 years [IQR 49-62], 54.0% men) were included. Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) characterized by defective immunoglobulin production is the most prevalent form of symptomatic primary immunodeficiency (PID) in adults. We aimed to reveal the clinical features of adults with CVID and to evaluate the effects of immunoglobulin replacement treatment (IRT) on hemato-immunological findings.

This study included 26 adult patients receiving IRT. Two measurements of complete blood counts and major immunoglobulin levels measured at the beginning-end of follow-up period were used for comparisons. Lymphocyte subsets and B-cell subgroups were measured only at the time of presentation.
