In this study, a custom-designed RNA sequencing panel including 67 genes was developed and validated to identify gene fusions in STS. In total, 92 STS samples were analyzed using the RNA panel and 95.7% (88/92) successfully passed all the quality control parameters. Fusion transcripts were detected in 60.2% (53/88) of samples, including three novel fusions (MEG3-PLAG1, SH3BP1-NTRK1, and RPSAP52-HMGA2). The panel demonstrated excellent analytic accuracy, with 93.9% sensitivity and 100% specificity. The intra-assay, inter-assay, and personnel consistencies were all 100.0% in four samples and three replicates. In addition, different variants of ESWR1-FLI, COL1A1-PDGFB, NAB2-STAT6, and SS18-SSX were also identified in the corresponding subtypes of STS. In combination with histological and molecular diagnosis, 14.8% (13/88) patients finally changed preliminary histology-based classification. The aim of this study was to evaluate the dental students' fine motor skills and their compliance with ergonomic posture techniques over the course of a preclinical training year. The correlation between fine motor skills and compliance was also assessed.

The ergonomic posture of students enrolled in the second year of a five-year undergraduate dental degree programme (n=62) was assessed using the Compliance Assessment of Dental Ergonomic Posture Requirements (CADEP). This assessment relied on photographs of the students performing preclinical laboratory procedures during the school year. The photographs of each procedure received a score, and the final score obtained (0 to 10) corresponded to the extent of the student's compliance with ergonomic posture techniques. Initial compliance was calculated during the first two months of the training programme, whilst final compliance was calculated during the last two months. Fine motor skills were evaluated using the modified Dental Manual Dexterity Assessment compliance with ergonomic posture techniques increased over the course of the preclinical training year, and the correlation between students' fine motor skills and their ergonomic posture compliance was not significant.Dupilumab is a monoclonal antibody against interleukins 4 and 13 currently FDA approved for the treatment of moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (AD) in adults and adolescents and severe AD in children aged 6-11 years. It is reported to be safe with the most common side effects described from clinical trials being conjunctivitis, nasopharyngitis and injection site reactions. Outside the clinical trial setting, there is insufficient data on the side effects of dupilumab in adults with AD, and much less among children and adolescents. The aim of this study was to analyze the spectrum of side effects in all patients receiving dupilumab for the treatment of AD and related conditions in a real-world setting at a single tertiary referral center, and correlate any risk factors for the development of these side effects. A retrospective review of electronic medical records was conducted for all patients who had received dupilumab for a minimum of 2 months for the treatment of AD and related conditions in the department of dermatology at Rashid hospital, Dubai from February 2018 to November 2021. We analyzed the medical records of 128 patients who received dupilumab according to standard age-related dosing. This included 78 adults (age range 18-81 years) and 50 children and adolescents (aged 6-17 years). There were 73 males and 55 females. The mean duration of dupilumab treatment was 14.9 months. The most common side effects encountered during dupilumab therapy were head and neck dermatitis in 25 (19.5%), conjunctivitis in 20 (15.6%), erythema, pruritus and peeling of skin in 14 (10.9%) and dryness of eyes in 10 (7.8%) patients, respectively. Overall, dupilumab was well-tolerated in our patient population. Most of the side effects were mild and did not require discontinuation of dupilumab. These findings would enable dermatologists understand the side effects of dupilumab better, resulting in improved treatment plan decisions in clinical practice.
