Results show that angular motion at the hip, knee and ankle joint during locomotion were decreased by CFA injection and improved by step-training. Moreover, CFA injection enhanced the expression of the microglial marker Iba1 in both ventral and dorsal horns, with or without step-training. However, this change was not associated with a modulation of KCC2 expression, suggesting that locomotor deficits induced by inflammation are independent of KCC2 expression in the sublesional spinal cord. We found that dADP was more flexible than ADP and the two nucleotides interacted with myosin in different ways. Endometrial cancer, one of the most frequent pelvic gynecologic cancer worldwide, currently has no biomarker used to assess it in daily practice. Nonetheless, human epididymis 4 (HE4) appears to offer the best prospects, alone or combined with CA125. This study sought to systematically review the work on HE4 from the first publications in 2008 until now.

Two independent reviewers searched the PubMed database with the terms "HE4″, "endometrial cancer", "endometrial carcinoma", and HE4 or human epididymis protein 4. Only original clinical research articles and meta-analyses, published in English, were included, with literature reviews and case reports excluded.

Studies were organized into 3 categories diagnosis, prognosis, and recurrence/survival. Overall we identified 117 articles dealing with HE4 and endometrial cancer and selected 52 relevant texts 46 articles, 6 meta-analyses. The sensitivity of HE4 for the diagnosis of endometrial cancer varied from 44.2% to 91% and its specificity from 65.5 to 100%, for diagnosis, but for assessing prognosis and survival. Other prospective and multicenter studies are necessary to confirm these hopes and be able to recommend the use of HE4 in regular practice.
Gout is a common kind of inflammatory arthritis with metabolic disorders. However, the detailed pathogenesis of gout is complex and not fully clear. We investigated the serum metabolic profiling of gout patients by ultra-performance liquid chromatograph quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF/MS).

Serum metabolites were extracted from 31 gout patients and 31 healthy controls. Metabolite extracts were analyzed in negative mode by UPLC-Q-TOF/MS for global metabolomics. Principal components analysis (PCA), orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) and hierarchical clustering analysis were performed to detect different compounds between the two groups. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis and pathway analysis of the different metabolites were conducted.

A total of 9192 compounds were detected, of which 138 significantly different compounds were selected, according to the criteria of (Variable importance in projection (VIP) > 3). Hierarchical clustering analysis showed that the relative levels of the differential compounds were different between the 2 groups. Ninety-one reliable metabolites matching the human metabolome database (HMDB) were confirmed. ROC curve results revealed that 4-hydroxytriazolam, urate and bilirubin exerted higher AUC values. Pathway analysis indicated that the significantly different metabolites were mainly involved in primary bile acid biosynthesis, purine metabolism and glycerophospholipid metabolism.

Some dysregulated microRNAs (miRNA) also appear involved in the expansion of AAA and miRNA-based therapeutics have been shown to effectively inhibit this process. New evidence has revealed that TGF-β signaling and miRNA interaction may of physiologic and pathophysiologic significance including the progression of AAA. As such, miRNA that regulate TGF-β signaling may hold promise as potential therapeutic targets. This review explores potential crosstalk between TGF-β signaling and miRNA in AAA in order improve our understanding of this pathology and explore development of potential therapeutic targets.
