To reflect on the need to reorganize satellite dialysis units to ensure the safety of patients and workers, focusing on minimizing the risk of contamination by SARS-CoV-2.

Reflection considering the guidelines of international and Brazilian institutions and scientific articles, with a view to possible adaptations to the Brazilian reality.

The actions suggested and adapted by Dialysis Units from different countries during the pandemic focus on the quality of care and safety of the patient and workers. There was an opportunity to reflect on these actions using the Donabedian Model for quality of care and highlight the nursing team's role in this context.

The focus on quality and safety related to institutionalized processes and the assessment through indicators can contribute to the management of the outpatient dialysis unit in the context of COVID 19.

To reflect about the barriers experienced by the deaf population during the COVID-19 pandemic, the proposals to overcome communication barriers in health care and the role of public policies in effecting the social inclusion of deaf people.

Reflection based on studies on health care for deaf people, the COVID-19 pandemic and public accessibility policies.

The global crisis of COVID-19 has deepened pre-existing inequalities in the world, in addition to highlighting the vulnerability of people with disabilities, including deaf. Government, institutional and social initiatives to mitigate difficulties in communicating to deaf people have been made, but they are still insufficient to guarantee protection for them in this pandemic and full inclusion in health care.

Social inclusion, supported by law, and the linguistic accessibility of deaf people still need to generate broad and concrete actions so that deaf people can enjoy their rights as citizens.

He worked broadly as a professor, neuroscientist, writer, dramaturgist, neurobiologist, and entomologist. The publication of the neuroanatomy book is pioneer, revolutionary, and iconic in the history of academic medical education in Brazil. In the literature field, he also wrote many books in which he adapted scientific knowledge to children. In this article, the authors approach the academic life of Professor Ângelo Machado and the steps that culminated in the most renowned Brazilian textbook of neuroanatomy Neuroanatomia Funcional.André Brouillet's (1857-1914) famous group tableau 'A Clinical Lesson at La Salpêtrière' (French Une leçon clinique à la Salpêtrière) is possibly the most celebrated painting in the history of neurology. His depiction of one of Jean-Martin Charcot's legendary "Tuesday Lessons" includes portraits of not only one of the master's most famous patients, but also of his pupils, the heirs to the founder of modern neurology. However, the painter himself has long been neglected, and even his other paintings on medical subjects are little acknowledged. The authors aim to bring attention to Brouillet's life and times, as well as the remainder of his notable works; and in giving a proper context to the famous painting, neurologists today may be able to appreciate better the early history of our field and its cultural impact. The ability of mouthrinses, available in the international market, to form reaction products on demineralized enamel (bioavailability test) was evaluated in vitro. Nine mouthrinses purchased in Chile were evaluated; eight formulated with NaF (one containing 100 µg F/mL and seven containing 226) and one with Na2FPO3 (226 µg F/mL as ion FPO3 ). Demineralized enamel slabs (n=15 per mouthrinse) were sectioned; one half was subjected to the assigned mouthrinse treatment for 10 min and the other half was used to obtain baseline data. Loosely bound and firmly bound fluoride formed on enamel were determined with an ion-specific electrode and the values were expressed in µg F/cm2. The concentration of fluoride and the pH of the mouthrinses were previously determined. Concentrations of loosely bound and firmly bound fluoride formed on enamel were independently analyzed by ANOVA and Tukey's test (α=5%). The loosely bound and firmly bound fluoride concentrations formed ranged from 3.2 to 36.2 and 0.4 to 1.7, respectively. Loosely bound fluoride formed on enamel was significantly more effective in discriminating the effect of different commercial mouthrinses than firmly bound fluoride. Mouthrinses with 226 ppm F as NaF and low pH presented significantly greater bioavailability of fluoride on enamel than those with higher pH or lower NaF concentration. The mouthrinse with Na2FPO3 showed low reactivity. Although further studies are necessary, the findings showed that commercial fluoride-containing mouthrinses have important variations in enamel fluoride bioavailability, which may result in differences on anticaries efficacy. This study identified charcoal-based dentifrices and abrasive powders sold in Brazil and analyzed their label information. The products were searched in four online shopping platforms. The same products were searched on Instagram and their engagement metrics were investigated. Furthermore, a literature review of international publications assessing charcoal dentifrices and powders was conducted, and altmetrics were collected (Altmetric and PlumX). Thirty-six products were found with prices between $0.4-22 USD. Most frequent words in product description were sodium, stain, whitening, oil, xylitol, and coconut. Only 3 products contained fluoride. Bactericidal, antiviral, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory activities were indicated, in addition to non-scientific claims such as calming teeth or increasing oral immunity. In total, 72% of products had Instagram profiles, which generally showed low engagement rates (81%) and medium audience quality scores (65%). click here Twenty-two articles were found in the literature, from which 21 were in vitro studies. The single clinical study was sponsored by a charcoal product and had no control group. In total, 23% of studies showed positive results and 55% reported negative results for the charcoal products, which included no whitening ability, increased roughness, surface alterations, and lower demineralization prevention ability. Altmetric scores for the included articles varied from 0 to 55, with 40.9% of studies mentioned online. link2 In conclusion, charcoal-based products are using marketing strategies on Instagram but their current engagement with the public is not high. Consumers are being exposed to charcoal products whose potential risks to health are still unknown. The objective was assess the influence of untreated caries and socioeconomic status (SES) on school dropout among adolescents. A six-year cohort study was conducted with random sample of adolescents (12 years-old) who had been evaluated initially in 2012 from Santa Maria, Brazil. Sex, socioeconomic status (mother's education and household income), and untreated caries were collected at the baseline. The outcome variable was collected at the follow-up through self-report and was divided into three categories adolescents who only studied, who studied and employed, and who school dropouts. A multinomial regression model was performed to assess the influence of oral disease and SES on school leaving, through relative risk ratio (RRR) and 95% confidence interval (95% CI). From of 1,134 adolescents evaluated at the baseline, 768 participants with a mean age of 17.5 years were re-evaluated at follow-up (67.8% response rate). Male (RRR 2.31; 95%CI 1.19-4.48) and adolescents with untreated caries at the baseline had an increment in school-leaving (RRR 2.26; 95%CI 1.12-4.56). Mothers with low education (RRR 2.24; 95%CI 1.09-4.61) had a higher probability of having children who leave school. Untreated caries and low SES in early adolescence can influence the tendency to school dropouts. This study evaluated the dental displacement in dentures included in different flasks and processed by the Australian cycle modified or by microwave. Metal pins were placed on the teeth as reference for measurements a) Incisal edge of maxillary and mandibular central incisors, buccal cusp of maxillary and mandibular vestibular first premolars, and mesiobuccal maxillary and mandibular cusps of second molars; b) Incisor to incisor, premolar to premolar and molar to molar; c) Left incisor to left molar and right incisor to right molar, and d) Vertical. Dentures were divided according to flasks (n=10) G1- Metal; G2- HH bimaxillary metal; G3-Microwaves; G4- HH bimaxillary microwaves. For G1 and G2, polymerization at 65ºC/30 min, flame quenched for 30 min, heating at 65ºC/30 min, boiling water for 1 h. For G3 and G4, microwave (20 min/140 W and 5 min/560 W). Comparator microscope with digital camera and analytical unit assessed the measurements before and after denture polymerization. The final distance was made subtracting the distance before the denture processing from the distance of the dental displacement after processing. link3 The value of the difference was submitted to 2-way ANOVA, considering the flask type and denture type. Maxillary denture showed greater displacement when compared to mandibular denture. Flask types and interaction with denture types showed similar difference between before and after polymerization. In conclusion, displacement promoted by flask types in dentures cured by polymerization cycles promoted similar effect on the distance between teeth. Greater value for distance between teeth occurred for maxillary denture. The present study was a prospective, controlled, randomized, clinical short-term trial aiming to evaluate the clinical performance of adhesively luted, lithium disilicate and feldspathic glass-ceramics onlays over a period up to 2 years. A total of 11 patients (7 female, 4 male; age range 18-60 years, mean age 39 years) were selected for this study. Each patient received a maximum of two restorations per group in a split-mouth-design. LD Eleven onlays, performed with lithium disilicate-based ceramic (IPS e.max CAD, Ivoclar Vivadent, Schaan, Liechtenstein), and FP Eleven onlays, performed with feldspathic ceramic (Vita Mark II, Vita Zanhfabrik, Bad Säckingen). Recalls were performed at 2 weeks (baseline = R1), 1 year (R2) and 2 years (R3) after the cementation by three calibrated blinded independent investigators using mirrors, magnifying eyeglasses, probes and bitewing radiographs. The postoperative sensitivity, secondary caries, marginal integrity, marginal discoloration, color match, surface roughness, tooth integrity, and restoration integrity were evaluated.
