The purpose of this study was to develop the Scale of Parental Participation in Care Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and to examine the Scale's psychometric properties.
The draft scale' items were created through relevant literature reviews, focus group interviews with nurses, and content validity evaluations by experts. Study data were collected in the neonatal intensive care unit of a public hospital in Turkey from June 2019 to February 2020. The study participants were comprised of 205 parents with an infant in the neonatal intensive care unit. The Scale's content validity and construct validity were evaluated to determine the validity of the scale. Cronbach's alpha coefficient, item-total score correlations, and intraclass correlation were calculated to evaluate the Scale's reliability.
Content validity index values of the draft form of the scale ranged from 0.93 to 1.00. The final scale consisted of 18 items. From the exploratory factor analysis, it was found that the scale structure comprised a single factor that accounted for 51.92% of the total variance. Concerning the reliability of the Scale, it was calculated that Cronbach's alpha level was 0.93; item total correlations ranged from 0.48 to 0.78; intraclass correlation level was 1.000.

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is increasingly becoming a necessary mode of reproduction. This high risk group is prone to Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) which further exposes these pregnancies to an increased risk of adverse outcomes. In light of the limited data in the current literature, further investigation is needed regarding the time of GDM diagnosis in IVF pregnancies as well as the outcome of IVF pregnancies complicated by GDM.
In this three center pilot cross sectional study, the data of 101 singleton IVF pregnancies complicated by GDM were analyzed. Prompt GDM diagnosis in IVF pregnancies was accomplished by self-blood glucose monitoring (SMBG) from the first antenatal visit and confirmed by an OGTT. To evaluate pregnancy outcome, maternal and fetal complications in the 101 GDM IVF group was compared to 101 IVF as well as 101 spontaneous conceptions (SC). The three groups were matched by age. The effect of demographic and glycemic parameters on the outcome of GDM IVF pregnancies was investigated.
GDM diagnosis was made before the 24th week in 37.6% of the GDM IVF group. The week of delivery was earlier for the GDM IVF group (37 ± 1.7) relative to the IVF (37.9 ± 0.9, p < 0.001) and the SC group (38.1 ± 0.8, p < 0.001). GDM IVF pregnancies exhibited greater preeclampsia rates and 84.8% underwent caesarian section. No significant difference regarding LGA and SGA birth weights was found. Complications of GDM IVF pregnancies were associated with the 1-h postprandial BG (r = 0.267, p = 0.007).

Benefits of a diverse physician workforce are numerous and the impact of a lack of diversity has been highlighted with the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the commitment of professional societies such as the American College of Radiology to diversity in Radiology, the field and its residency training programs remain the least diverse. link2 With COVID-19 related suspension of in-person medical student rotations, our Department of Radiology redesigned and implemented a virtual radiology internship for underrepresented minority (URM) medical students.
A four-week virtual radiology internship was designed to provide clinical exposure to radiology and to allow students to gain an understanding of what a career in radiology entails. Course design included videoconference patient care sessions, didactic lectures, online modules, mentoring, and extra-clinical curriculum. Feedback from students was collected using online surveys assessing pre- and postcourse attitudes and understanding of a career in radiology and the studeresidency.

The dip frequency was close to the main resonance of the nasal tract, a result in agreement with the Fujimura & Lindqvist in vivo sweep tone measurements [Fujimura & Lindqvist, 1972]. With increasing size of the coupling tube the depth of the dip increased and the first formant peak either changed in frequency or was split by the dip. Only marginal effects were observed of the paranasal sinuses. link3 For certain coupling tube sizes, the spectrum balance was changed, boosting the formant peaks in the 2 - 4 kHz range.

The aim of the present study is to validate the Acoustic Voice Quality Index version 03.01 in the Italian language (AVQIv3-IT).
A total of 150 native Italian speakers with normal voices (n=50) and with various voice disorders (n=100) were enrolled. Voice samples of a sustained vowel (SV) [a] and five phonetically balanced continuous speech (CS) samples were recorded. The most appropriate syllable number for a standardized voiced CS approximating 3 seconds was identified. Perceptual evaluations of the overall voice quality were performed by three expert voice clinicians using the G score of the GRBAS scale. AVQIs were calculated using a 3 seconds mid-vowel selection of the SV [a] and the standardized syllable number of the CS. Finally, concurrent validity and diagnostic accuracy of AVQIv3-IT were analysed.
The most appropriate syllable number for a standardized CS approximating 3 seconds in Italian was identified as 25. The perceptual ratings showed robust intra- and inter-rater reliability. A strong correlation was found between AVQI scores and overall voice quality perceptual evaluations (r=0.81, P < 0.001). The best diagnostic outcome for AVQIv3-IT was found for a threshold of 2.35 (sensitivity of 90% and specificity of 92%).

AVQIv3-IT was demonstrated to be a valid and robust tool for quantifying overall acoustic voice quality in the Italian speaking population.While enteroviruses (EV) are a well-recognized cause of aseptic meningitis in children, human parechoviruses (HPeV), especially genotype 3, have been increasingly reported as a frequent cause of sepsis-like illness and meningitis among young infants. The aim of this study was to describe the epidemiological, clinical, and laboratory characteristics of HPeV infections in infants and to compare them with those of well-known EV infections. This monocentric retrospective study was carried out at the pediatric unit of Nantes University Hospital from January 2015 to August 2018. All patients under 18 years of age with diagnosis codes referring to fever, for whom viral infection was suspected and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) specimens were collected, were included. All CSF specimens were screened by duplex real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay that allows for the simultaneous detection of EV and HPeV in clinical samples. During the study period, 1373 CSF specimens from patients under 18 were included. A totalive protein (CRP) levels (P=0.006) and neutrophil counts (P less then 0.001) were noted for HPeV infections compared with EV infections. Our results confirm the early onset of HPeV infections (more than 95% of patients aged under 3 months). The clinical presentation and laboratory characteristics of the two infections was similar. However, some higher clinical severity criteria and a lack of CSF pleocytosis were regularly observed in patients with HPeV infections. Considering the significant proportion (5.6%; 95% CI, 3.7-7.5) of all CSF samples in our series, HPeV detection should be systematically included in the microbiological diagnosis of febrile children under 3 months of age.

A retrospective study was undertaken. The data analyzed were taken from medical records of children with pulmonary hydatid cyst (PHC) hospitalized in a pulmonary department in Tunisia between January 2004 and February 2019. Cysts were divided according to their size into GHC ( ≥10cm) and NGHC (<10cm).
In the study period, 108 PHC were recorded in 84 children. GHC accounted for 21 (19.4%) and NGHC for 87 (80.6%). The median of age of the children was 11 years (IQR 1-9, IQR 3-14) and the mean age was 11.6 years (10.5 in GHC vs. 11.4 years in NGHC).
