To establish significant associations between hypertension and the presence and severity of common oral diseases in adolescents.

A cross-sectional study was conductedWith participation of 130 adolescents, from which 2 groups were formed, matched by sex and age (
=65; 38 boys and 28 girls in each group). Inclusion criteria age 10-17 years; hypertension for inclusion in the group of «cases» and a normal level of blood pressure for inclusion in the control group; informed voluntary consent to participate in the study. A diagnosis of hypertension was confirmed by daily monitoring of blood pressure. The frequency and severity of the clinical manifestations of the main oral diseases caries, gingivitis, periodontitis were evaluated in the groups. Regression models have been adjusted for the index of oral hygiene and body weight.

Hypertensive adolescents were significantly likely to have dental caries (50 (77% vs 32 (49%),
=0.001), periodontitis (26 (40%) vs 6 (9%),
=0.001) and moderate to severe gingivitis (12 (18%) vs 2 (3%),
=0.009), than in the control group. In the adjusted regression models, significant associations of hypertension with periodontitis (OR 3.9, 95% CI 1.4-10.5) and dental caries (OR 3, 95% CI 1.3-7.1) were established. It is also shown that hypertension is associated with more pronounced signs of periodontal inflammation (OR 3, CI 1.6-5.6).

Results suggest that hypertension in adolescents is associated with poorer oral health. Isoproterenol sulfate ic50 It is advisable to take this into account when developing a synergistic approach to the medical support of these patients, aimed at reducing cardiovascular risk in the long term.

To study the morphological features of the temporomandibular joints (TMJ) according to MR studies in adult patients with impaired occlusion of the anterior teeth and dislocations of the articular discs.

The clinical study included 51 patients aged 17 to 47 years (mean age 28.12±7.44 years) 14 men and 37 women. On the basis of a clinical examination and MR findings of TMJ in 30 patients (mean age 26.77±7.48 years; 8 men and 22 women), TMJ dysfunction in the form of dislocation of articular discs was confirmed. In 21 patients (mean age 30.05±7.12; 15 women, 6 men), TMJ dysfunction without dislocation of articular discs was confirmed. The patients measured the value of vertical incisive overlap (overbite). Analyzing data from MR studies of TMJ, we measured the following values of both TMJs of each patient the depth and transverse size of the articular fossa, the height of the articular tubercles and the transverse size of the head of the lower jaw.

The examined patients with joint dislocations of TMJ had morphological features statistically significantly deeper and narrower articular fossae, higher articular tubercles and narrower in the sagittal plane of the head of the lower jaw compared to TMJ of patients with dysfunction without dislocation of articular disks. In addition, in patients with articular disk dislocations, a statistically significant (<0.05) increase in vertical incisal overlap was noted.

.TMJ in patients with dysfunction in the form of dislocations of articular discs had morphological features that allowed them to be classified as type 3.

There is a lack of a comprehensive theory about how cranium base influences the development of facial skull morphology. Due to up-to-date tomography technologies, it is possible to get more reliable information about position of basicranial bones.

Aim of this research is to analyze anatomical and morphological features of sphenoid and vomer and their interrelationship in patients with different facial types of the skull.

Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT or CT) results of 120 adult patients were examined. The sample was divided into three groups depending on the facial type mesocephalic, brachycephalic and dolichocephalic, and each group was further divided by three, depending on the skeletal class I, II and III. Proportions, shape and positioning of sphenoid and vomer were studied on frontal and sagittal planes. Proportions of sphenoid and vomer were calculated using "A/B" formula. Shape of the bones was described with angles Va, N-S-PSO, SSE-S-PSO. Position of vomer posterior surface was identified by angles VSa and VSBa.

The results of CBCT analysis suggest that there are differences between groups with different facial types and different skeletal classes in shape and proportions of sphenoid body and sinus, as well as in shape and position of the vomer. The greatest difference is registered on the sagittal planes of CBCT between groups with brachycephalic and dolichocephalic facial types.

Basicranial bones differ in shape, proportions and position between people with different facial types and different skeletal classes.

The aim of the study was to improve the types of surgical intervention when performing biopsy of large-sized cystic formations of the lower jaw by cystotomy.

44 patients were examined and surgeries were performed 12 patients with ameloblastoma, 14 - with keratoxystone tumor, 18 - with dentigerous cyst. All patients had a retained tooth in the cyst cavity.

For histological verification of cystic formations of large sized it is necessary to perform cystotomy-typed biopsy with bone tissue and shell fragment collection, using epithelialized flap method.

Cystotomy-typed biopsy using the method of epithelialized flap can significantly reduce the rehabilitation period and allows to decide on the choice of further method of surgical treatment.

The titanium based membrane «Titanium silk» is widely used in guided bone regeneration (GBR) in the oral cavity, but the literature does not mention possible complications and methods of dealing with them.

Improving the treatment of patients in cases of complications during GBR using a membrane based on titanium thread «Titanium silk».

25 patients who applied to the Federal State Institution Central Research Institute of Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery, Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation underwent an operation of guided bone regeneration in order to create optimal conditions for dental implantation. In the postoperative period, dynamic monitoring of the condition of patients was carried out, where the healing of soft tissues was assessed and, if possible early or late complications were identified, timely measures were taken to combat them.

Of the 25 patients in the early postoperative period, in 2 cases, complications were identified, associated with exposure of the membrane, and in one case 4 months after osteoplastic surgery. However, adequate postoperative administration of these conditions allowed us to achieve a positive outcome of the treatment. Only in one case, addition GBR was required.

Most of the complications presented in this study during GBR had a multifactorial causes, depending on local and general factors of the patient. Early identification of complications and adequate postoperative management can lead to a positive final outcome of treatment.

To assess the efficacy of an immunomodulatory drug based on a muramylpeptide composition in the treatment of patients with chronic generalized periodontitis.

The study comprised 40 patients with chronic generalized periodontitis. In controls the treatment consisted in oral hygiene instructions, professional oral hygiene procedures and root scalling while in main study group the conventional treatment protocol was combined with intramuscular injections of muramylpeptide composition.

The study showed significant reduction of inflammatory symptoms in periodontal tissues in muramylpeptide composition group.

Muramylpeptide composition increases the threshold of tissue protection against constantly present microbial accumulations in periodontal disease patients thus providing opportunity for excluding toxic antimicrobial agents and/or antibiotics (or reducing their dosages).

The purpose of the study is to substantiate the need and importance of early diagnosis and treatment of oral lesions in infectious diseases (ID) by dentists.

A retrospective analysis of the provision of dental care in multi-specialty hospitals to 780 patients with infectious pathology herpetic infections (HI) - 320 people (41.03%); ARVI - 160 people (20.51%); acute enteric infections (AEI) - 300 people (38.46%). The diagnosis of the disease was established by infectious diseases doctors. The etiology of ID was confirmed using PCR and IFA.

The prevalence of caries is 98.5%, the CPEs index is 10.26±0.04. In 84.1% of patient's oral hygiene was unsatisfactory. In the acute period of ID in HI, ARVI and AEI oral mucosa (OM) lesions were detected in 75.89% of cases stomatitis (81.75%), gingivitis (69.76%), glossitis (35.98%), cheilitis (23.31%). Incidence of OM lesions in ID catarrhal stomatitis - HI - 52.8%, ARVI - 64.1%, AEI - 67.9%; catarrhal gingivitis in patients with HI, it is 1.7 times less frequent thahole. Due to the relatively short duration of inpatient treatment for acute ID, priority should be given to the prevention of postinfectious complications of oral mucosal diseases.
The aim of the study was to evaluate the content of the vitamin D metabolite (25(OH)D
) in the blood serum, the level of some indicators of the immune and peroxidic status in the oral fluid in people with carious processes of different intensities while taking the native solution of vitamin D (international non-proprietary name Cholecalciferol).

The study included 47 people aged 20 to 22 with caries and low levels of 25(OH)D3 in blood serum. The control group consisted of 13 people with DMFT index of 0.00 [0.00; 0.00] and a normal serum content of 25(OH)D3. The amount of antimicrobial peptide cathelicidin LL-37, secretory immunoglobulin A, lipopolysaccharide binding protein (LBP) was determined in the oral fluid using ELISA reagent kits, and the content of intermediate lipid peroxidation products such as malondialdehyde (TBA-active products) and the level of total antioxidant activity were spectrophotometrically evaluated.

Reduced serum concentrations of 25(OH)D3 were recorded predominantly in individuals with a DMFT index of more than 9.
