burden of occupational heat stress is substantial. Climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies should be implemented to likely minimize future costs. Further research exploring the relationship between occupational heat stress and related expenses from lost productivity, decreased work efficiency and healthcare, and costs stratified by demographic factors, is warranted. Key messages. The estimated retrospective and future economic burden from occupational heat stress is large. Responding to climate change is crucial to minimize this burden. Analyzing heat-attributable occupational costs may guide the development of workplace heat management policies and practices as part of global warming strategies.
To investigate the impact of occupation types on age at natural menopause.
This is a nation-wide cross-sectional study based on 17,948 female workers aged over 40, who come from different industries or organizations. A face-to-face standardized questionnaire was conducted in all participants with the help of occupational hygienists. Occupational titles were coded according to the International Standard Classification of Occupations (2008) (ISCO08). Cox regression model was used to assess the association between each independent occupation and menopausal timing. Models were adjusted for marriage, education, average annual family income, parity, cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption.
Higher risks of earlier age at natural menopause was found among legislators and senior officials (ISCO Minor group111, HR=2.328, P<0.001), among other health associated professionals (ISCO Minor group 325, HR=1.477, P=0.003), the workers involved in mining and mineral processing (ISCO Minor group 811, HR=1.515, P=0.048) and metal processing and finishing (ISCO Minor group 812, HR=1.722, P<0.001). Reduced risks of earlier age at natural menopause, including finance professionals (ISCO Minor group 241, HR=0.751, P=0.021), manufacturing and construction supervisors (ISCO Minor group 312, HR=0.477, P=0.002), administrative and specialized secretaries (ISCO Minor group 334, HR=0.788, P=0.045), cleaners and helpers (ISCO Minor group 911, HR=0.633, P=0.01).
This is the first study to address the influence of occupation types on reproductive aging, showing some specific occupations could be associated with age at natural menopause. Ziritaxestat Further investigations are necessary to clarify whether it is chance finding or a true association.

The BSOA tracers derived from isoprene, α/β-pinene and β-caryophyllene in size-distributed aerosols were studied. Concentrations of total SOAI (Isoprene secondary organic aerosols) were found more abundant than α/β-pinene in summer, while contradictory trends were found in the winter season, where SOAM (monoterpene derived SOA) and SOAS (sesquiterpenes derived SOA) were dominated. Size-distribution study revealed that most of the BSOA were formed in the aerosol phase and dominated in fine mode, except cis-pinonic acid. They were formed in the gaseous phase and partitioned onto the aerosol phase. The alkaline nature of mineral dust particles that triggered the adsorption of gaseous species onto pre-existing particles could be the reason for bimodal size distribution with major coarse mode peak and miner fine mode peak. Temporal variations suggest that the BSOA must be derived from terrestrial vegetation and biomass burning. The isoprene SOC (secondary organic carbon) contributed 0.91%, 1.38%, 0.88% and 1.04% to OC during winter, summer, post-monsoon and monsoon season, respectively. The isoprene SOC in fine mode was found to be higher than the coarse mode.Congenital aortic valve stenosis (AS) progresses as an obstructive narrowing of the aortic orifice due to deregulated extracellular matrix (ECM) production by aortic valve (AV) leaflets and leads to heart failure with no effective therapies. Changes in glycoprotein and proteoglycan distribution are a hallmark of AS, yet valvular carbohydrate content remains virtually uncharacterized at the molecular level. While almost all glycoproteins clinically linked to stenotic valvular modeling contain multiple sites for N-glycosylation, there are very few reports aimed at understanding how N-glycosylation contributes to the valve structure in disease. Here, we tested for spatial localization of N-glycan structures within pediatric congenital aortic valve stenosis. The study was done on valvular tissues 0-17 years of age with de-identified clinical data reporting pre-operative valve function spanning normal development, aortic valve insufficiency (AVI), and pediatric endstage AS. High mass accuracy imaging mass spectromtions for the treatment of human aortic valve disease.
This meta-analysis aimed to compare and evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of blood and salivary microRNAs (miRNAs) in discriminating oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC).
The PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library were searched (updated to February 2020) to identify all articles describing the diagnostic value of blood and salivary miRNAs for OSCC. The pooled parameters were calculated using Revman (v.5.3) and STATA (v.14.0).
Twenty articles involving 1,106 patients and 732 controls were included in this meta-analysis. The pooled sensitivity and specificity of salivary miRNAs were 0.70 (95% CI 0.63-0.77) and 0.82 (95% CI 0.72-0.90). For blood miRNAs, they were 0.79 (95% CI 0.73-0.84) and 0.82 (95% CI 0.77-0.86). The areas under receiver operating characteristic curve in saliva, blood, and body fluid miRNAs were 0.80 (95% CI 0.77-0.84), 0.88 (95% CI 0.84-0.90), and 0.87 (95% CI 0.84-0.90), respectively.
The results of this meta-analysis indicate a moderate diagnostic accuracy of blood and salivary miRNAs presented for OSCC.
