Best Coffee Espresso Machines
Turn on a knob, press a button, and a delicious cup of coffee is at your fingertips. The machine won't win any beauty contests, but it produces a delicious cup of espresso. Our test subjects found that the taste was more like coffee than other machines.
It also takes more effort than other models we have studied. However, it's well worth the effort for the hands-off Java enthusiast.
1. Nespresso Vertuo Plus
The Nespresso Vertuo Plus will be the ideal Nespresso machine for you if a coffee enthusiast who is seeking consistency and efficiency. The Vertuo Plus is easy to operate and has a minimalist design that can be incorporated with any kitchen decor. Place a capsule in the machine and press the button to brew your beverage. The machine adjusts the brewing parameters automatically to maximize extraction based on the barcode of the capsule. This is a major benefit for Nespresso Vertuo, as you don't need to worry about adjusting the temperature or pressures for each type. It does restrict your options to Nespresso pods only and doesn't include an inbuilt milk frother.
The Vertuo Plus uses Nespresso Centrifusion to create a rich and smooth crema. The machine spins at speeds of up to 7000 rpm, which allows you to extract the full range of aromas and flavors in each capsule. It also pours hot water at the same time while it heats up, which allows you to make American-style drip coffee as well as espresso.
The Vertuo Plus is a lot less expensive than the Creatista Pro, which makes it the perfect choice for those who want a basic upgrade to their current Nespresso experience. It also has a smaller 40 ounce water tank, compared to the premium model's 60 ounce tank. If espresso coffee machines plan to make large quantities of drinks or have guests or entertain guests, then the deluxe model might be the better choice for you.
2. Barista Express Impress
Breville's Barista Express Impress is an striking machine that is adorned with a high-end design and useful features. Its smart dosing system and assisted tamping can help beginners automatize parts of the process, making it much easier to make a great espresso. It's also able to make small adjustments to the temperature which experienced baristas will appreciate, as just a few degrees can change the flavor of the coffee.
The machine comes with an conical burr grinder made of premium quality with 25 grind settings to suit any kind of coffee. The machine also comes with a stainless-steel milk jug, as well with double-wall and single-wall filter baskets for one- and two-cup sizes. You can also make use of the frothing arm to make micro-foams for cappuccinos and lattes.
We liked the fact that the espresso machine's interface is simple to use and clearly walks you through every step of the process. We also liked the fact that it's made of robust plastic that doesn't consume many. It's not cheap, but it's definitely a well-built and feature-packed machine that will last for a long time to come. It is also covered by an excellent warranty that covers mechanical problems for one year from the date of purchase. This is pretty impressive for an espresso machine that costs this much. If you're looking to make espresso regularly, it's worth the investment.
3. Gaggia Classic
Gaggia's Classic made its debut in 1991, and quickly gained a cult following thanks to its minimalist style and - of course – its ability to make a delicious espresso. It's back with a higher quality than ever with the brand new Classic Pro. Even though the Classic Pro isn't as advanced as the other entry-level machines, it's still capable providing cafe-quality espresso using the professional-grade portafilter and group. As it's a single boiler, it's not able to prepare and steam at the same time. You'll need to wait a few minutes before you pull an espresso.
With a sleek, industrial style that looks elegant and feels solid in your hands, the Classic Pro features simple switches for On/Off and brewing/steam with indicators that are easy to work with. The frames and switches are more durable than the Classic making this machine have a truly premium feel.
The Classic Pro comes with few accessories, but the 58-millimeter portafilter is a nice feature. Also, the plastic tamper is a nice extra. A three-way solenoid is a great addition. It stops water pressure fluctuations and helps remove sloppy espresso pucks, something that cheaper machines are unable to accomplish. Gaggia has also added an attractive steam wand, which is great at making milk frothy for the latte art.
4. De'Longhi COM532M
The De'Longhi espresso maker is a great choice for those looking to experience barista-quality coffee at home. It has a unique design that makes it simple to use and offers a wide range of features. It has a stainless-steel boiler, brew head and portafilter, as well with a water tank that can be removed. The machine is also compact which means it can fit on the majority of counters.
This espresso machine has an 15 bar pressure pump that guarantees constant results. It can also warm up in less than 40 seconds, saving your time and energy. It is easy to clean and looks gorgeous on any kitchen counter. The De'Longhi is the best option for those who love coffee and want to make their own coffee at home.
This is a combination coffee maker and espresso maker that can make up two cups of coffee at the same time. Dual heating allows you to make espresso and drip coffee simultaneously. This is a great feature for parties because you can serve your guests your favorite drinks at the same.
The espresso machine is equipped with a milk frother, which can be used to make delicious and creamy cappuccinos and latte. The machine is simple to use with its simple touchscreen and buttons. The machine is quiet and does not make much noise while operating.
