Majority of the included studies had low to moderate Risk of Bias (RoB) assuring confidence in the results. The conceptual frameworks of PIL identified in the review underscore the complexity of the construct. Several sociodemographic and other determinants of PIL were identified.Post-consumer bio-based textile wastes are any type of garment or household article made from manufactured bio-based textiles that the owner no longer needs and decides to discard. MK-8617 nmr According to the hierarchy of waste management, post-consumer textile waste should be organically recycled. However, there is still a problem with the implementation of selective collection of textile waste followed by sorting, which would prepare the waste for organic recycling. A technically achievable strategy for sorted textile waste materials consisting of only one type of fiber material, multi-material textiles are a problem for recycling purposes. Waste textiles are composed of different materials, including natural as well as synthetic non-cellulosic fibers, making bioprocessing difficult. Various strategies for recovery of valuable polymers or monomers from textile waste, including concentrated and dilute acid hydrolysis, ionic liquids as well as enzymatic hydrolysis, have been discussed. One possible process for fiber recycling is fiber recovery. Fiber reclamation is extraction of fibers from textile waste and their reuse. To ensure that organic recycling is effective and that the degradation products of textile waste do not limit the quality and quantity of organic recycling products, bio-based textile waste should be biodegradable and compostable. Although waste textiles comprising a synthetic polymers fractions are considered a threat to the environment. However, their biodegradable part has great potential for production of biological products (e.g., ethanol and biogas, enzyme synthesis). A bio-based textile waste management system should promote the development and application of novel recycling techniques, such as further development of biochemical recycling processes and the textile waste should be preceded by recovery of non-biodegradable polymers to avoid contaminating the bioproducts with nano and microplastics. In a widespread social turmoil such as the Pandemic, job groups with high turnover rates and high job stress, such as the construction industry, will have a greater adverse impact than the general job group. This is to be used as basic data in preparing management plans by identifying the factors that hinder job stress and job satisfaction of construction workers. In this study, during the Pandemic period (1 September 2021 to 31 December 2021), a survey was conducted on job stress and job satisfaction among safety and health managers working at construction sites. The overall job satisfaction of workers in the construction industry was grasped by analyzing the level of correlation and the mutual influence on job stress, job satisfaction, general characteristics, and work-related characteristics. As a result, in terms of work characteristics, it was found that the smaller the working period in the current position, the more positive the job satisfaction was (p < 0.01). In addition, it was found that job satisfaction increased significantly when there was a promotion opportunity (p < 0.001). The construction industry is a job group with high basic job stress and low job satisfaction. In addition, it was evaluated that job stress increased during the pandemic.Physical activity is among the most effective methods for improving health, body composition, and physical function, and its practice is suitable for every population [...].
Adherence to a nutritional program and physical activity are the fundamental aspects of treatment for weight loss and associated problems. Previous research has shown that self-monitoring using a mobile device improves self-management.

A total of 35 subjects (40.6 ± 9.24 years) participated in the study. During the control period (3 months), they received physical exercise guidelines and a personalized nutritional program, with the aim of promoting health status. In the experimental period (3 months), there was also a connection between the physical world (health care processes) and the digital world (app). All participants had their body composition and cardiovascular variables measured. They also underwent calcaneal densitometry to determine bone quality. Descriptive statistics, correlations and analysis of variance were performed (by a researcher who was not involved in the data collection) to study the changes between before and after interventions, as well as to make a comparison between treatments.

The use of an app, in which there exist a prediction of the evolution, messages of results and advice, among others, mediated by the assistance of dietitians/nutritionists and sports scientists, had a positive impact on the improvement of health parameters, showing significant differences in all variables except troponin.

The combination of healthy habits with the use of the app provided benefits, improving health.

Workplace health promotion programs have been shown to be an efficient way of improving employee health. These can also benefit employers by improving retention, reducing worker turnover, and lowering healthcare costs. In Slovenia, a workplace health promotion program called "STAR-VITAL-Joint Measures for the Vitality of Older Workers" targeting small- and medium-sized enterprises has been ongoing since September 2017. We hypothesize that this workplace health promotion program will yield long-term health changes for the included employees and employers. Methods/Design The manuscript presents a workplace health promotion program design that introduces some novel approaches and solutions to workplace health promotion program implementation. It also introduces a measurement of their effects that address the problem of low participation rates and the effectiveness of workpo discover and explore the potential of those novel approaches.
Thunderstorm asthma is a term used to describe surges in acute respiratory illnesses following a thunderstorm and is often attributed to an intense exposure to aeroallergens. Several episodes of thunderstorm asthma have been observed worldwide; however, no such cases have been described in Sweden. In Sweden, the most prominent exposure to air-borne pollen occurs during the blooming of the birch. We aimed to explore the associations between respiratory health and the combined exposure to thunderstorms and birch pollen.

We investigated the association between the daily numbers of outpatient visits due to respiratory cases and the combined exposure to thunderstorms and birch pollen during the period of 1 May-31 September in 2001-2017, in Stockholm County, Sweden, by using time series analysis with log linear models.

We detected noticeable increases in the number of outpatient visits on both the same day (max 26%; 95% CI 1.16-1.37) and the day after (max 50%; 95% CI 1.32-1.70) the occurrence of a thunderstorm, when the concentrations of birch pollen and the number of lightning discharges were within the highest categories.

It is possible that co-exposure to heavy thunderstorms and high concentrations of birch pollen affects the respiratory health of the Stockholm population. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study addressing the thunderstorm-related respiratory illnesses in Sweden and the effects of birch pollen. Our study may be important for future public health advice related to thunderstorm asthma.

Data were obtained from 316 university students aged 18-29 years at two universities in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. These participants completed online questionnaires with sections on demographics, anthropometric measurements, social media platform usage, food marketing exposure via social media, and unhealthy food consumption. All of the participants, 20.3% and 13.6% were overweight and obese, respectively. Snapchat was the most popular application (85.8%), followed by Instagram (75%), YouTube (61%), Twitter (51%), and TikTok (50%). The obese participants were more likely to purchase foods/drinks after watching relevant social media advertisements than their non-obese counterparts (p < 0.04). Moreover, those who purchased foods/drinks more frequently after watching such advertisements consumed higher amounts of potato chips (p < 0.01) and fast foods (p < 0.03). Finally, those who used Snapchat, TikTok, and Instagram tended to have higher consumption rates for potato chips (p < 0.02), fast foods (p < 0.01), sweets (p < 0.02), and sugary drinks (p < 0.04). Public health policymakers in Saudi Arabia should consider regulating unhealthy food and drink advertisements on social media platforms, especially those targeted at younger generations. With the increasing use of nanomaterials in recent years, determining their comparative toxicities has become a subject of intense research interest. However, the variety of test methods available for each material makes it difficult to compare toxicities. Here, an accurate and reliable method is developed to evaluate the toxicity of manufactured nanomaterials, such as Al2O3, carbon black, single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs), multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), CeO2, dendrimers, fullerene, gold, iron, nanoclays, silver, SiO2, TiO2, and ZnO. A series of 72 h chronic and 8 h acute toxicity tests was performed using cell counting, chlorophyll, and delayed fluorescence methods. Comparable toxicities using the chlorophyll and delayed fluorescence methods were impossible to determine because the EC50 of some of the nanomaterials could not be measured. All three test methods were successfully applied to the chronic toxicity tests of manufactured nanomaterials, and cell counting was the only method applicable to acute toxicity tests. The toxicity data and the proposal of measurement method for manufactured nanomaterials obtained in this study can be helpful for preparing exposure standards and investigating the toxicities of other nanomaterials in the future. To mitigate climate change, reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions is of paramount importance. China, the largest global CO2 emitter, proposes to peak carbon emissions by 2030 and become carbon neutral by 2060; transforming the energy structure represents one of the primary means of addressing carbon emissions; thus, it is essential to investigate the impacts of alternate energy sources throughout the country. Based on energy consumption and carbon emissions data from 30 provincial-level administrative regions in China (excluding Tibet, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau, due to the lack of data), the study here investigated the shares of coal, petroleum, natural gas, and non-fossil energy sources (i.e., hydropower, nuclear power, wind power, solar power, and biomass power), as they relate to total, per capita, and per unit GDP CO2 emissions via spatial regression. The results showed that (1) The epicenters of coal and carbon emissions have shifted from the east to the central and western regions; (2) There is a significant correlation between energy structure and carbon emissions coal has a positive effect, petroleum's effects are positive at first, and negative subsequently; while both natural gas and non-fossil energy sources have a negative impact; (3) Provincial-level carbon emissions are affected by energy structure, carbon emissions in neighboring regions, and other factors.
