Hepatoid carcinoma (HC) is a rare type of malignant tumor that shared similar features of morphology and immunohistochemistry with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Pancreatic HC exists as either pure or mixed type. Mixed pancreatic HC is extremely rare, with only a few cases reported in the literature to date. Because of the rarity of mixed pancreatic HC, its clinical features including incidence, characteristics, and prognosis remain unclear. We herein report a case of a 49-year-old man who was diagnosed with mixed pancreatic HC with neuroendocrine differentiation and was treated with pancreaticoduodenectomy and adjuvant chemotherapy. We also review the existing case reports in literature.
A 49-year-old man was admitted to our hospital after a chronic abdominal pain in the upper right quadrant. Abdominal ultrasound revealed only one low-density retroperitoneal mass measured at 20×48mm in size in the pancreatic-duodenal junction, whereas contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) revealed three lymphatic nrecurrence in the 6-month follow-up period.
Aggressive angiomyxoma is a rare soft tissue tumor. Aggressive angiomyxoma is a slow-growing vulvovaginal mesenchymal neoplasm with a marked tendency for local recurrence, but with a low tendency to metastasize. As it has a predilection for the pelvic and perineal regions, Aggressive angiomyxoma is often misdiagnosed. This case report documented rare case of misdiagnosed Aggressive Angiomyxoma as Gartner duct cyst.
This article report a case of 31year old women who complained mass came out from vagina without any urinary symptom and trauma. Physical examination and ultrasound finding suggested that the mass was Gartner Duct cyst. Management in this case was excision of the vaginal cyst. Histopathology examination revealed Deep (aggressive) angiomyxoma.
The rarity of Deep (Aggressive) Angiomyxoma makes the preoperative diagnosis fairly difficult. Aggressive angiomyxoma is often misdiagnosed as it may have similar clinical presentation to common lesions such as Bartholin cyst or prolapse vaginal wall, Gartner cyst or levator hernia. Aggressive Angiomyxoma should be considered as differential diagnosis in patient with vaginal cyst.
Aggressive Angiomyxoma is rare condition. Preoperative diagnosis and management are challenging. Long term follow op and evaluation should be done due to high rate of recurrence.

Myocardial infarction is usually due to thrombotic occlusion of a coronary vessel caused by rupture of a vulnerable atherosclerosis plaque. There is also the acute myocardial infarction with no evidence of relevant stenosis of the coronary artery, known as myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) such as Takotsubo, myocarditis and catecholamine induced cardiomyopathy. Pheochromocytoma is one of the causes of MINOCA. This association is rare but it may delay diagnosis and must be known in order to provide the best chance at early detection. This work has been reported in the line with the SCARE criteria.
We report a case of a 49 year-old man, admitted to our department for a recurrence of myocardial infarction with angiographically normal coronary arteries. During his hospitalization the patient complained of intestinal haemorrhage. The abdominal Computed tomographic scan revealed bilateral adrenal mass. The diagnosis of pheochromocytoma was made and confirmed by a high level oly often delayed because of the challenging diagnosis in many cases.Theory of mind (ToM) development is critical to effective social functioning and appears to depend on complementary language abilities. The current study explored the mediating influence of language on the development of both cognitive and affective ToM. A total of 151 children aged 5-12 years completed ToM (cognitive and affective) and language assessments, and parents provided ratings of their children's empathic ability. Results showed that language mediated the relationship between age and both cognitive and affective ToM but not parent-reported cognitive empathy. Examination of younger and older subgroups revealed that language mediated cognitive and affective ToM differently across developmental periods. Findings highlight the dynamic role that language plays in the development of both cognitive and affective ToM throughout early and middle childhood.A low-permeability locality with heterogeneous geology contaminated primarily by tetrachloroethene (PCE) present partially in the free phase in the unsaturated zone was treated on a pilot scale via direct push pneumatic fracturing combined with the hydraulic delivery of a remediation suspension consisting of milled iron, sulphidated nanosized zerovalent iron and sand in guar gum solution. Afterwards, a whey solution was injected into the fractures as a carbon source for bacteria. The unsaturated and saturated zones were treated. Long-term monitoring of the groundwater revealed that the abiotic reduction of PCE and trichloroethene was the dominant remediation processes for several months after the injections. A complex microbial consortium was developed that was capable of effective, long-term chlorinated ethenes (ClE) dechlorination. The consortium consisted mainly of Dehalococcoides but also of other anaerobic bacterial strains capable of partial dechlorination of ClE, including the sulphate-reducing bacteria; Geobacter and Desulfitobacterium. The average chlorine number in the groundwater decreased from 3.65 to 1.38 within 2.5 years after the injections, while the average ClE concentration increased from 13.5 to 31.5 mgL-1 because of the substantial acceleration of the ClE mass-transfer to the groundwater caused by the treatment. The remediation processes remained fully active for 2.5 years. In this study, we measured the effective atomic numbers of some boron compounds (H4BNa, H3BO3, Na2B4O17H20, B4C, BN, NaCaB5O17H16, B2O3, Ca2B6O16H10, Zn2B6O14H6, TiB2, Fe2B, Ni3B, ZrB2, and LaBO3) by using 59.54 keV energy gamma rays emitted from an Am-241 radioactive source. Rayleigh and Compton scattering peaks were detected using a high purity germanium detector with a resolution of 182 eV at 5.9 keV. In addition, the effective atomic numbers of the boron compounds were theoretically calculated by using WinXCOM code. We concluded that the calibration curve obtained can be used for the qualitative analysis of compounds with effective atomic numbers in the range of 3.95 ≤ Z ≤ 54.15 because the experimental and theoretical effective atomic numbers were in very good agreement.A neutron detector, based on scintillator and Cherenkov detector, was designed to monitor the D-T neutron generator in a PGNAA online measurement system in our previous study. In this paper, the foil activation method was used to study the intrinsic detection efficiency of the detector to the D-T neutron generator. The Fe foil with 99.99% purity was selected as the activation foil. The experiments and the GEANT4 simulations were carried out to study the intrinsic detection efficiency of the monitor. The results show that the intrinsic detection efficiency of the monitor is 20.42% ± 0.76%. Then, the calibrated detector and Fe foils were simultaneously used to measure the neutron flux of D-T neutron generator. The relative deviation between the results of the two methods is 5.64%.
There are various radioprotective agents with different mechanisms that help to decrease ionizing radiation side effects. The radioprotective effect of Cimetidine and IMOD was assessed individually and compared with the hybrid radioprotectors agents (HRPAs-IMOD and Cimetidine) on human lymphocyte cells.
Twenty healthy volunteers (ten men and ten women) participated in the present study. About 75mL peripheral blood lymphocytes from each individual were collected, and they were divided into 36 groups. G Protein antagonist Briefly, the blood samples were treated with different concentrations of Cimetidine (12.6 and 25.2μg/mL) and IMOD (0.04, 0.08, and 0.12mg/mL), and also a combination of these agents, namely hybrid radioprotectors agents (HRPAs). Besides, the irradiated groups were exposed to 2 and 4Gy of Co-60 gamma irradiation. The amount of cellular damage was assessed using the micronucleus assay. The repeated measurements and paired T-test statistical analysis were used to compare the micronucleus frequencies in different groups.
The micronucleus frequencies were significantly reduced (p<0.05) in irradiated groups when the non-toxic concentrations of Cimetidine, IMOD, and HRPAs have been used. The reduction in micronucleus frequency was obtained 5-29% for Cimetidine and 40-51% for IMOD in peripheral blood lymphocytes irradiated with 2Gy. This reduction in 4Gy irradiation was 8-17% for Cimetidine and 27-37% for IMOD. The HRPAs resulted in a higher radioprotective effect, in a way that they cause up to 58% and 43% micronucleus frequency reduction in 2 and 4Gy, respectively.
In conclusion, the HRPAs showed the highest level of radioprotective. In addition, IMOD was remarkably higher radioprotective than Cimetidine, which may be related to its greater non-toxic concentrations.

This fear motivates behaviors aimed at avoiding weight gain, such as restricting food intake. Of note, avoidance in AN is not confined to food-related items but extends to intense emotional states. Despite the presence of several forms of excessive avoidance in AN, little is known about the mechanisms underpinning avoidance behavior in AN. In the present exploratory study, we investigated whether university students with an elevated desire to avoid weight gain (as measured through self-reported Drive for Thinness, DT) show deficits in generic avoidance learning. Two-hundred and seventy-five female students filled in the Eating Disorder Inventory-II (EDI-II) and performed a food-unrelated avoidance task. Generalized and linear mixed models (GLMM) revealed that students scoring higher on the DT scale of the EDI-II showed more ineffective avoidance, suggesting a tendency for excessive avoidance in at-risk individuals for AN. Similar results might extend to other eating disorders.
Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is the most common type of lung cancer. This study aims to explore the mechanism by which CDCA8 regulates cell proliferation, invasion, and migration of LUAD, and to generate novel insights into targeted therapy of LUAD.
Expression profiles of mature microRNAs (miRNAs) and mRNAs, along with clinical data of LUAD were downloaded from TCGA database for differential analysis and survival analysis to mine differentially expressed mRNAs. qRT-PCR was used to detect the expression of CDCA8 and miR-133b in LUAD cell lines, and western blot was used to detect protein expression. The effects of CDCA8 on the proliferation, migration, and invasion of LUAD cells were detected by CCK-8 assay, scratch healing assay, and Transwell assay. Bioinformatics predicted the target miRNA of CDCA8, and dual-luciferase reporter gene assay was used to verify the binding relationship between miR-133b and CDCA8.
Data from TCGA-LUAD showed that CDCA8 was significantly overexpressed in LUAD tissue, while its upstream miRNA (miR-133b) was significantly lowly expressed.
