Slot Rankings - How Wide Receivers Score More Touchdowns in the Slot

Slot machines operate in the same way for each game, so you won't discover any secrets to beat them. However, there are a few things you can keep in mind to increase your chances of winning.

The first step is to check a game's RTP. This statistic shows how much players can expect to win in the long run.

Slot Efficiency

The goal of slot efficiency is of maximising the amount of slot switches that can be made without violating certain constraints. These constraints can include, for instance the minimal operational delay (usually expressed as scheduling delays) fairness, equity, fairness access, competition environmental goals and many more. The process of allocation of slots is a complicated one and optimizing it to achieve the desired performance metrics requires careful analysis of all factors that are in play.

The process begins by identifying the types of requests to prioritize by reference to the past experience. Once the type of request has been determined and a slot allocation model is utilized to reduce the delay criteria. However, many research gaps have been identified regarding the optimization of slot scheduling models, particularly when it comes to trying to balance fairness and efficiency.

ABC (assigned based on velocity) is a popular method of prioritizing slot assignments. This method collects the item's history and then selects the grouping based on velocity. Items with the highest velocity are given the most slots, while smaller velocity items are placed further back in the warehouse.

Another crucial aspect of slot efficiency is the distance factor, which determines the amount of space that needs to be allotted to support the pick-to-ship process. The measure takes into account the velocity group of the items, as along with their rack placements and equipment handling characteristics.

It is crucial to take into consideration the costs of a change in the slot to improve the efficiency of the slot. A quick review of the typical slot change will help managers understand the cost of the change, as well as the impact that it might have on other aspects of slot efficiency, including speed.

After spending a month or two validating the data and back-dating recommendations The casino began using the software more frequently. The gaming operations team estimates that they will save between 10 and 12 hours per month by using their traditional analysis and this doesn't include time they spend reviewing the data rated by customers or preparing and analyzing the latest strategies that can be implemented.

The team was able, using the new recommendations provided by SRE to make dozens game modifications that increased the amount of money players earn. Particularly, Dancing Drums Explosion and Twinstar Wave XL both by Scientific Games, saw big gains in the premium lease and WAP rankings. The casino also managed to shift their budget from marketing and other expenses to improving the floor's performance.

Perimeter Efficiency

We all know that wide receivers are more likely to score more touchdowns on areas that are not targeted by slot targets, as they're often targeted farther downfield and often have one-on-one coverage. What may be surprising to some, however, is the fact that the top five slot players and the rest of the group score differently on targets in the perimeter.

Of the 66 wide receivers who have seen at least 40 targets in each of the two seasons, the top five slot scorers on the perimeter routes were all speed receivers: Mike Evans, Amari Cooper, Tyler Lockett and Michael Gallup. The bottom of the list was filled with more possession-based receivers including Chris Godwin and Diontae Johnson. The Bucs will likely shift the latter two players into the slot more often during this season, which will increase their targets. However, they'll have to improve their scoring from the perimeter to maintain their top-of-the-line performance.

Speedy wideouts are the main benefit of moving into the slot since they have a much easier time getting open downfield when their route isn't covered by a cornerback or linebacker. The only non-speedy wide receiver on the list that benefits from more slot work is Corey Coleman, as he's an extremely reliable receiver on intermediate and short routes.

Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler and other receivers who are based on possession are at the low end of the list. They are better in intermediate and short routes, rather than deep zones. Jeudy is expected to be the Rams main slot receiver this season, is a sleeper pick. Courtland Cooper and Amari Sutton are likely to play a bigger role in downfield targets. Hamler is likely to excel on intermediate and short-to middle routes, since that's the way he performed in 2021 while playing for the Bills. He could be an excellent replacement for the former wideout Jordan Matthews.

Percentage of Snaps In Slot

The percentage of snaps that a receiver makes in the slot is an excellent indicator of their ability to play deep routes. However, it's not always an accurate representation of a receiver's skill set since certain receivers excel in the slot, but can't play deep and vice versa.

Alshon Jeffrey, for instance, leads the league in goals per game (4.8), but is only ranked 6th when it comes to slot receiving scores (58.5). This is due to the fact that most of his targets have come from the outside, and it's hard to score a first-down on a wide-open deep route in that situation.

Some receivers are better playing inside, while others struggle on the outside. Robby Anderson, for instance, was given 978 snaps by the Panthers this season. He logged 74% of his route in the slot, compared to only 26% of his boundary routes. This is an enormous distinction and demonstrates how much more productive Robby Anderson is when he is aligned to the slot.

Chris Godwin, a Buccaneers player, plays inside the majority of his passing downs and has one of the top five slot receiving scores (58.5). However he also played 51 percent of his perimeter routes last season, and is a star in one-on-one coverage.

Speed receivers are typically more effective when lining up inside, because they are able to be targeted down the field and often are in one-on-one coverage. This is why you'll see names like Julio Jones, Mike Evans and Amari Cooper in the top five on our list.

McDuffie, Moore and other slot cornerbacks are also part of this group. Both have been able create pressures in the passing game and have McDuffie leading the NFL with seven forced fumbles. Moore having the best tackle stop performance on this list (-3.5). By deploying McDuffie in the slot when they're running nickel or dime-type packages, and then deploying McDuffie on the outside in base defense, Spagnuolo has maximized his skills. Moore's ability to stop big run plays is an enormous advantage when playing the slot.

Percentage of Snaps Outside

While the NFL's top receivers like Baldwin, Golden Tate and Larry Fitzgerald excel on the perimeter, it's also worth noting that their slot counterparts are also excellent. Wide receivers with an excellent slot grade have touchdowns that are about the same as those on the perimeter. This is mostly because quarterbacks have a more stable target distribution when throwing to outside and slot receivers, compared to other inside options like tight ends and backfield pass-catchers.

It's therefore fascinating to see a receiver like CeeDee lamb on this list for 2022. He plays the slot in 3 WR sets and flanker in two of the sets. He's running more routes in the slot than a lot of the players listed on this chart. This is a great way to create matchup advantages for your team and explain why Lamb is rated as the top-rated slot receiver in our system this season.

Rainbet Casino & Sportsbook plays at the X-position and makes big plays outside. Lamb isn't as fast as the other players in this ranking however he's still a high-graded wide receiver who fits well into the Cowboys scheme.

Mecole Hardman is yet another example of a player who's capable of posting big numbers on both kinds of targets. He has a very high slot receiver grade and is one of the league's best at catching back-shoulder throws, but he's also an excellent player for contested-catch.

Another player on this list who's an authentic slot specialist is Baltimore's Jalen Hilton, who has lined up in the slot on 85.7 percent of his defensive plays this season. He's allowed the third-lowest target EPA and the fifth-best run stop EPA among cornerbacks who are aligned in the slot, making him an important part of his team's defense. He's struggled to stop passes from the outside and his EPA against this type of target is negative. This is the result of playing alongside subpar linebackers and safeties that can't match up with Hilton's size, speed and route-running ability.
