8) when compared to those unexposed. Children exposed prior to age 2 had the highest rates of all sub-groups when reaching age 13-17 (IRR, 6.5; 95% CI 6.0-7.1) and 18-25 years (IRR, 6.8; 95% CI 6.2-7.4). Maternal SA (IRR, 3.4; 95% CI 3.2-3.5) was associated with higher rates than paternal (IRR, 2.8; 95% CI 2.7-2.9).

Parental SA was associated with children's own SA. Exposure during early developmental stages was associated with the highest rates. Early preventive efforts are warranted as is monitoring of suicide risk in the children from age 13.

H 89 This parasite is usually found as a motile flagellated trophozoite. However, when subjected to stressful microenvironmental conditions, T. vaginalis trophozoites can differentiate into peculiar cyst-like stages, which exhibit notable physiological resistance to unfavourable conditions. Although well documented in morphological and proteomic terms, patterns of gene expression changes involved in the cellular differentiation into cyst-like stages are mostly unknown. The real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) is recognized as a sensitive and accurate method for quantification of gene expression, providing fluorescence-based data that are proportional to the amount of a target RNA. However, the reliability of relative expression studies depends on the validation of suitable reference genes, which RNAs exhibit a minimum of variation between tested conditions. Here, we attempt to determine suitable reference genes to be used as controls of invariant expression during cold-induced in vitro differentiation of T. vaginalis trophozoites into cyst-like forms. Furthermore, we reveal that the mRNA from the meiotic recombinase Dmc1 is upregulated during this process, indicating that cryptic sexual events may take place in cyst-like stages of T. vaginalis.
To test the effectiveness of a new, innovative, single-use handheld 'cryopen' (CryoTreq®), which has been developed and marketed by Vitreq.

Animal testing of cryopexy using the Cryotreq ® in two pig eyes was performed.

The biological effects of cryopexy were observed.

During the surgery, the handheld device was comfortable to use and offers the surgeon more freedom to move. The cryotherapy caused severe atrophy and thinning of retinal layers, pigment epithelium and choroidea in a relatively uniform thickness. The cryopen is effective and offers advantages over non-handheld cryotherapy devices.

An understanding of the trajectory and norm of development in children is needed in order to understand the concept of the spectrum in the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Children's developmental growth trajectory was measured from six to 66months in the Taiwan Birth Cohort Study dataset (N = 11,145). Additionally, over 4years of follow-up, the negative predictive value of using the Parental Concern Checklist and Taiwan Birth Cohort Study Developmental Instrument was also investigated as the first stage of screening in a two-stage window screening method for ASD diagnosis.

The growth trajectory showed that children's language development began to increase at 18months, and peaked at 36months. On the other hand, social development showed steady growth from 18 to 66months. The increase in the trajectory of children's language development prior to age three, when compared with other developmental dimensions, may increase the difficulty of diagnosing ASD. The two-stage window screening method can be used in settings where the screening sample is large, such as in community or primary care settings, and has been found to be time- and cost-efficient. Better understanding of children's developmental trajectory can enhance detection and intervention for ASD.

Implementation strategies are necessary to ensure that evidence-based practices are successfully incorporated into routine clinical practice. Such strategies, however, are frequently modified to fit local populations, settings, and contexts. While such modifications can be crucial to implementation success, the literature on documenting and evaluating them is virtually nonexistent. In this paper, we therefore describe the development of a new framework for documenting modifications to implementation strategies.

We employed a multifaceted approach to developing the Framework for Reporting Adaptations and Modifications to Evidence-based Implementation Strategies (FRAME-IS), incorporating multiple stakeholder perspectives. Development steps included presentations of initial versions of the FRAME-IS to solicit structured feedback from individual implementation scientists ("think-aloud" exercises) and larger, international groups of researchers. The FRAME-IS includes core and supplementary modules to document s investigated modifications to the implementation strategies used to implement such practices. To fill this gap, the FRAME-IS is meant to be a flexible, practical tool for documenting modifications to implementation strategies. Its use may help illuminate the pivotal processes and mechanisms by which implementation strategies exert their effects.
Hereditary angioedema due to C1 inhibitor deficiency (C1-INH-HAE) is a rare disease. Few states in developing countries have an adequate management of HAE, but none of them belongs to the former USSR area. This study analyses data from C1-INH-HAE patients from Belarus.

Data about clinical characteristics, genetics, access to diagnosis and treatment were collected from 2010 by the Belarusian Research Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology in Minsk. A questionnaire about attacks, prophylactic (LTP) and on-demand therapy (ODT) was administered to patients.

We identified 64 C1-INH-HAE patients belonging to 26 families, 27 (42.2%) of which were diagnosed in the last 3years. The estimated minimal prevalence was 1148,000. Median age at diagnosis was 29years, with diagnostic delay of 19years. Thirty-eight patients answered a questionnaire about therapy. Eleven patients did not use any treatment to resolve HAE attacks. Twenty-seven patients underwent ODT 9 with appropriate treatments, and 18 with inappropriate treatments. Nine patients used LTP with attenuated androgens and 1 with tranexamic acid. Thirty-two patients answered a questionnaire about attacks and triggers 368 angioedema attacks were reported, with an average of 10 attacks per year. We found 24 different SERPING1 variants 9 missenses, 6 in splice sites, 6 small deletions, 2 nonsense, 1 large deletion; 7 have not been previously described. De novo variants were found in 11 patients.

C1-INH-HAE diagnosis and management in Belarus is improved as seen from the high number of new diagnosis in the last 3years. Next steps will be to reduce the diagnostic delay and to promote the LTP and ODT.

Improving the transitional care of older people, especially hospital-to-home transitions, is a salient concern worldwide. Current research in the field highlights person-centered care as crucial; however, how to implement and enact this ideal in practice and thus achieve more person-centered patient pathways remains unclear. The aim of this study was to explore health care providers' (HCPs') perceptions and experiences of what is important to achieve more person-centered patient pathways for older people.

This was a qualitative study. We performed individual semistructured interviews with 20 HCPs who participated in a Norwegian quality improvement collaborative. In addition, participant observation of 22 meetings in the quality improvement collaborative was performed.

A thematic analysis resulted in five themes which outline central elements of the HCPs' perceptions and experiences relevant to achieving more person-centered patient pathways 1) Finding common ground through the mapping of the patient joue important knowledge relevant to providing more person-centered patient pathways implying a central role for them as knowledge brokers during the patient's journey. The study draws attention to the benefits of focusing on the older patients' way of knowing the patient pathway as well as to placing what matters to the older patient at the heart of transitional care.
Myopericytoma is a rare mesenchymal neoplasm with perivascular myoid differentiation that arises most commonly in middle adulthood. The lesion generally involves the subcutaneous tissue of distal extremities. Myopericytoma of the oral cavity is extremely rare. Herein we report a case of oral myopericytoma in a pediatric patient, who was treated via a conservative approach with a follow up of 8years. The case is followed by a literature review. To our knowledge this is the first documented case of oral myopericytoma affecting a patient of such a young age.

A 6years old boy was referred to the maxillofacial surgery department for the evaluation of a solitary growth of the right maxillary buccal and palatal gingiva. Histology and immunohistochemistry confirmed the diagnosis of myopericytoma.

Our patient was treated by local excision with no recurrence in 8years of follow up. Conservative approach should be considered for the treatment oral myopericytoma especially in young patients in tooth bearing areas.

There are increasing data highlighting the effectiveness of vitamin D supplementation in the treatment of vitamin D deficiency. But individuals vary in their responsiveness to vitamin D supplementation. In this study, the association between several cardiometabolic risk factors and the magnitude of response to vitamin D supplementation (change in vitamin D level) was investigated using a novel artificial neural networks (ANNs) approach.

Six hundred eight participants aged between 12 to 19 years old were recruited to this prospective interventional study. Nine vitamin D capsules containing 50,000 IU vitamin D/weekly were given to all participants over the 9 week period. The change in serum 25(OH) D level was calculated as the difference between post-supplementation and basal levels. Suitable ANNs model were selected between different algorithms in the hidden and output layers and different numbers of neurons in the hidden layer. The major determinants for predicting the response to vitamin D supplementation were identified.
