Myocardial infarction (MI) is a great threat to patients all over the word. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a group of non-coding RNAs and can regulate initiation and progression of MI. The current research aimed to investigate the role of miR-467a-5p in MI. Reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) was conducted to detective relative expression of miR-467a-5p in cardiac tissues and mouse cardiomyocytes (MCMs). Hematoxylin and eosin staining was used to reveal the histology of the myocardium. Echocardiography was utilized to reveal cardiac function of mice. Flow cytometer analysis was used to reveal cell apoptosis. Luciferase reporter assay was applied for determining the binding capacity between molecules. We discovered that the level of miR-467a-5p was up-regulated in MI mice and in MCMs induced by H2O2 or hypoxia. Functionally, an elevation of left ventricular end-diastolic diameter and left ventricular end-systolic diameter, as well as a decrease of left ventricular ejection fraction and left ventricular fractional shortening were observed in MI mice. In addition, deficiency of miR-467a-5p improved MI in mice by increasing the contents of lactate dehydrogenase, creatine kinase and malondialdehyde and reducing the activity of superoxide dismutase in serum. Moreover, silencing of miR-467a-5p reversed hypoxia-induced apoptosis of MCMs. Mechanistically, zinc finger E-box binding homeobox 1 (ZEB1) was confirmed as the target of miR-467a-5p. Moreover, miR-467a-5p negatively regulated ZEB1 level in MI mice and MCMs. Finally, the promotive effect of miR-467a-5p inhibition on cell apoptosis was reversed by knockdown of ZEB1. All the experimental results demonstrate that miR-467a-5p aggravates MI by modulating ZEB1 expression in mice, which may provide a novel therapeutic strategy for MI.To determine whether left ventricular (LV) global longitudinal strain (GLS) measured by feature-tracking (FT) cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) improves after kidney transplantation (KT) and to analyze associations between LV GLS, reverse remodeling and myocardial tissue characteristics. This is a prospective single-center cohort study of kidney transplant recipients who underwent two CMR examinations in a 3T scanner, including cines, tagging, T1 and T2 mapping. The baseline exam was done up to 10 days after transplantation and the follow-up after 6 months. Age and sex-matched healthy controls were also studied for comparison. A total of 44 patients [mean age 50 ± 11 years-old, 27 (61.4%) male] completed the two CMR exams. LV GLS improved from - 13.4% ± 3.0 at baseline to - 15.2% ± 2.7 at follow-up (p 0.05). In this study, we demonstrated that LV GLS measured by FT-CMR improves 6 months after KT in association with reverse remodeling, but not native T1 or T2 measurements.With the advent of multidetector computed tomography (CT), CT angiography (CTA) has gained widespread popularity for noninvasive imaging of the arterial vasculature. Peripheral extremity CTA can nowadays be performed rapidly with high spatial resolution and a decreased amount of both intravenous contrast and radiation exposure. In patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD), this technique can be used to delineate the bilateral lower extremity arterial tree and to determine the amount of atherosclerotic disease while differentiating between acute and chronic changes. This article provides an overview of several imaging techniques for PAD, specifically discusses the use of peripheral extremity CTA in patients with PAD, clinical indications, established technical considerations and novel technical developments, and the effect of postprocessing imaging techniques and structured reporting.Focus of attention (FOA) has been shown to affect human motor performance. Research into FOA has mainly posited it as either external or internal to-the-body (EFOA and IFOA, respectively). However, this binary paradigm overlooks the dynamic interactions among the individual, the task, and the environment, which are core to many disciplines, including dance. This paper reviews the comparative effects of EFOA and IFOA on human motor performance. Next, it identifies challenges within this EFOA-IFOA binary paradigm at the conceptual, definitional, and functional levels, which could lead to misinterpretation of research findings thus impeding current understanding of FOA. Building on these challenges and in effort to expand the current paradigm into a non-binary one, it offers an additional FOA category-dynamic interactive FOA-which highlights the dynamic interactions existing between EFOA and IFOA. Mental imagery is then proposed as a suitable approach for separately studying the different FOA subtypes. Lastly, clinical and research applications of a dynamic interactive FOA perspective for a wide range of domains, from motor rehabilitation to sports and dance performance enhancement, are discussed.
To examine the predictive and prognostic value of preoperative Systemic Immune-inflammation Index (SII) in patients with radio-recurrent prostate cancer (PCa) treated with salvage radical prostatectomy (SRP).
This multicenter retrospective study included 214 patients with radio-recurrent PCa, treated with SRP between 2007 and 2015. SII was measured preoperatively (neutrophils × platelets/lymphocytes) and the cohort was stratified using optimal cut-off. Uni- and multivariable logistic and Cox regression analyses were performed to evaluate the predictive and prognostic value of SII as a preoperative biomarker.
A total of 81 patients had high preoperative SII (≥ 730). On multivariable logistic regression modeling, high SII was predictive for lymph node metastases (OR 3.32, 95% CI 1.45-7.90, p = 0.005), and non-organ confined disease (OR 2.55, 95% CI 1.33-4.97, p = 0.005). In preoperative regression analysis, high preoperative SII was an independent prognostic factor for cancer-specific survival (CSS; HR 10.7, 95% CI 1.12-103, p = 0.039) and overall survival (OS; HR 8.57, 95% CI 2.70-27.2, p < 0.001). Similarly, in postoperative multivariable models, SII was associated with worse CSS (HR 22.11, 95% CI 1.23-398.12, p = 0.036) and OS (HR 5.98, 95% CI 1.67-21.44, p = 0.006). Notably, the addition of SII to preoperative reference models improved the C-index for the prognosis of CSS (89.5 vs. 80.5) and OS (85.1 vs 77.1).
In radio-recurrent PCa patients, high SII was associated with adverse pathological features at SRP and survival after SRP. Preoperative SII could help identify patients who might benefit from novel imaging modalities, multimodal therapy or a closer posttreatment surveillance.

In the soybean variant V94-5152, a BCMV-resistance gene was mapped near to the region of SMV-resistance Rsv4 locus, raising a possibility that V94-5152 may rely on Rsv4 locus to resist against both SMV and BCMV. Both Soybean mosaic virus (SMV) and Bean common mosaic virus (BCMV) can induce soybean mosaic diseases, but few studies have explored soybean resistance against BCMV so far. individuals with a BCMV isolate HZZB011, a segregation ratio of 3 resistant 1 susceptible was observed, suggesting that V94-5152 possesses a single-dominant resistance gene against BCMV-HZZB011. By obtaining ten more sequences of Rsv4 locus from cultivated and wild soybean materials, we further investigated the variation and evolutionary patterns of this virus-resistance locus. We compared the cost-effectiveness of 2- vs. 3-instrument (2i vs. 3i) approach to robotic transabdominal preperitoneal inguinal hernia repair. MiWRKY53 is expressed in response to various stresses and hormones. Although it is localized in the nucleus, it shows no transcriptional activation. WRKY transcription factors are one the largest gene families in plants involved in almost every process in plants including development, physiological processes, and stress response. Salicylic acid (SA) is key regulator of biotic stress against various pathogens in plants acting via its multiple mechanisms to induce defence response. Herein, we have identified and functionally validated WRKY53 from mulberry (Morus indica var. K2). MiWRKY53 expressed differentially in response to different stress and hormonal treatments. MiWRKY53 belongs to group III of WKRY gene family, localized in nucleus, and lacks transcriptional activation activity in yeast. Hormone responsive behaviour of MiWRKY53 Arabidopsis overexpression (OE) transgenics preferentially was noted in root growth assay in response to Salicylic acd-type plants. PR-1 transcripts were higher in MiWRKY53 Arabidopsis OE plants and they displayed resistance towards biotrophic pathogen Pseudomonas syringae PstDC3000. MiWRKY53 Mulberry OE transgenics also depicted SA-responsive behaviour. Several hormones and stress-related cis-acting elements were also identified in the 1.2-Kb upstream regulatory region (URR) of MiWRKY53. Functional characterization of full-length promoter region revealed that it is induced by SA and further analysis of deletion constructs helped in the identification of minimal promoter responsible for its inducibility by SA. Altogether, the findings from this study point towards the SA preferential behaviour of MiWRKY53 and its function as regulator of plant defence response through SA-mediated mechanisms.
